I made day 2 at 6-3. Lost to ABz coco twice and lost to Affinity. Beat Abz coco, burn, bogles, and grixis midrange. Sort of weird matches. I took notes so I'll do a writeup later. Rather disappointing as I lost out from 6-1. There's a 9-0 Fish player.

Which GP? Nevermind, you said LA above.
I'm currently 8-1 in LA. Lost to Tron. Top deck Spreading Seas in either game would have won it for me.
He is at gp la as well. Yay go fish! I didn't get to make it to GPla. I guess a wedding is more important or something *rolls eyes* I cant wait to see all the fish lists! Ride the wave to the top guys!
Excellent work, everyone. Hopefully we'll catch some of you folks on stream on Day 2. I think this GP is a prime opportunity to show all those control decks they still have to beware of us.
I'm still working on the sideboard but it was one of the main reasons why I wanted White. Even though Kataki, War's Wage isn't a Merfolk it has a huge impact against artifact heavy decks and there are a few of those with Tron, Affinity and stuff like Lantern. Having White makes it possible to cast Leyline if it's not in the opening hand which helps a lot vs. Burn but also stuff like Jund and Scapeshift. White also allows you to run Rest in Peace which has a huge impact vs. stuff like the Thopter Foundry, Persist loops, Living End etc. One of the weaknesses is that the deck is more vulnerable to Blood Moon, it is however less vulnerable to Choke and AEther Vial can play around either. I'm thinking a couple of copies of Disenchant could help against either in any case post-board.
Played against Mardu Control (boatload of removal, he died with 2 Confidants out :)), Burn (having Snag vs Dismember paid off big time), Geist Control (I screwed with his mana, he died with full hand), Abzan Company (rolled him game 1, then the usual sideboard of -4 Waves, -2 Kira; +1 Tidebinder, +2 Gut Shot, +2 Negate, +1 Cage, gave me the easy win because they have no solution to aggression while we have disruption) and Jeskai Nahiri Control (Vial was great game 1 as usual, game two he swept my stuff before landing Nahiri and protected her 2 more turns, game 3 was drawn affair but luckily my draws were adequate with multiple Adepts and Seas for card flow).
Mr. Simon ****sky's Fish is now in the semis against Jund.. I sure hope they show it (even if time shifted).
edit: a few minutes later - Yep! Fish in the finals.. vs... Affinity.
The Affinity deck is being piloted by a 13 year old kid who has been killing it. He chewed through some tough matchups but has been really lucky. I'm torn between cheering for the kid or the fish!
19 lands both with 3 and 4 Tidebinders and Tec Edges in 75, as expected.

Main suits me, sideboard is always in flux.
LSV mentioned that Abzan Company is bad matchup for us, just like Affinity. I call b***hit
He just won round 14 and is 1st right now. Looks good for top 8 but not secure yet.
3 Kiras? With how much spot removal being run, I would say a good meta call.
