Played 6 post-board testing games of big zoo vs jund today. It didn't go well at all. Lost 5 and won 1.
Although getting hit by turn 1 inquisition all 6 games is pretty sad, I'm tempted to chalk at least 2 of those 5 losses down to really bad variance.
We both took 1 game each in decisive fashion but the other 4 games were pretty intense games where we traded pretty evenly for the most part and the games all went down to top deck wars over an empty board and he just drew gas while I drew land after land with a whole bunch of live draws left in my deck.
Also wasn't able to judge the effectiveness of my 4-walker package of 2x Arlinn, 1x Elspeth, 1x Domri because I only ever drew 1 Arlinn and 1 Domri over 6 games.
I'm also not quite sure what the SB plan for Jund is, I went with
Guys please opinions on japanese cards. Lost a 3/3 creature against Japan celestial colonade. This guy played all creatures and spells in english cards, but some cards in his manabase was japanese. I dont registrated this really ( my brain say its all fine and all english to me lets attack his empty board)...and i am sure it is a Kind of legal cheating. It is not ok, but i know legal. I Hate such people. I never forget colonade normally, but with this Tricks it can happen one time in 3 years and such people take advantage of this
If I am a customer spending premium amount of dollars, I expect a premium service. Jund falls into the category of a premium deck costing more dollars than a majority of the rest of the format. I'm not getting the desired performance ratio per dollars spent out of the Jund deck because WOTC decided to make the format more diverse.

Thalia did a lot of work, only saw DC once but it was at a point of the game where it didn't matter and I never saw Sigarda until it was too late.
Moving on, I'm pretty set on 2 Arlinn, 1 Elspeth. The 4th walker slot is still up in the air between Domri, Chandra and 2nd Elspeth.
Do you have a list? It's never really going to be super great against Jund, they are built to beat fair decks, and most of them run 14+ main deck removal spells.
In order to beat jund you have to do it in three ways:
Go around them by playing more creatures than they can blockers/removal (ex: Company)
Go above them by playing fliers (ex: Sigarda)
Go before them by playing super fast creatures (ex: Nacatl + Guide etc).
If you don't do one of these three the only way you'll win is if they stumble and lose. The problem with most lists is that they try and spread it all around instead of focusing on a single way of attacking Jund. Personally I try and play around them. 3 Scavenging Ooze and 2 Voice of Resurgence along with the CoCo's and the 2x Kitchen Finks that I bring in help out a lot. I also usually replace 2x bolt with 1 Grim Lavamancer and 1 Valorous Stance.
I always take all the Bolts against Jund. Siding in Sigarda, Finks and Thrun. That leaves me with more creatures and those coming in are in some way harder to remove than the maindeck ones. Along with 4 walkers and 3 Oath to find what I need, I went 6-3 vs Jund a week ago (3-1 pre board, 3-2 post board)
Yeah in my list I felt I was more favored against jund then I normally was. Id side in Moons sometimes, thalias, finks, and sigarda, taking out 4 bolts, 2 pridemage and 1-2 oaths if I sided in moons.
Hushwing Gryff is also good vs Abzan Company. It shuts all of his combos, as they can't bolster and can't gain life/deal damage.
Pyroclasm is a good one if you have it early
I've tried Oath of Nissa extensively and it still doesnt click. It might be my play style but I have always appreciated more a collected company than an oath of nissa midgame, which is the stage of the game I always get to. And the fetched creature or lands that I get have always been lusterless. I will try with two planeswalkers and 3 companies for the forseable future.
Before every does just flup out for gruul, just want to remind everyone that aggro normally does well after rotation, and with eldrazi banned, people notnknowing what aideboard to use because of rustyness, and new blue decks popping up, its basically a rotation. People dont have enough anti aggro in their boards right now, and as the meta stablizes, youll see it drop overtime.
I still like the deck, just dont want people going bananas yet. Keep that in mind.
This thread is full of idiots... Lightning Bolt is NOT being reprinted.
Many times has a writer in Wizards said so, because of the plain and simple fact that it's too powerful for what it costs. x/3 creatures shouldn't be able to die at instant speed for one mana without a signifigant drawback. (like PTE giving you a land)
I absolutely guarantee that LB will not be printed in M10, and you can quote me on that.
Bushwacker gives more edge, more that 50% I am always set with a position to burning tree-burning tree bushwacker and is not all beyond crazy to triple burning tree into wacker
Its a lifegainspell, that has combo breaking applications. It "gains you" 10 life, and also means decks that suck the life out of you in one go, ala lightning storm for 30 damage or swigh with all my elves for 50 damage, doesnt kill you. So at worse its a 3 mana gain 10 life, at best, 3 mana you X combo cant kill me.

but if he did say enough damage to bring you to negative wouldnt you still get the poison 10 counters? Say Im down to 10 then he deals 20 damage in one go?
Also While Im reading the card? It says you only get poison counters when your at zero life, does this mean if Im playing against infect he cant kill me?
edit checked gatherer massive damage would put you at negative and the next source would then deal the poison
Phyrexian Unlife won’t affect damage that reduces your life total from a positive number to 0 or less. For example, if you’re at 3 life and are dealt 5 damage, you’ll end up at -2 life. The next time you’re dealt damage, it will be dealt as though its source had infect.

Goblins 1-2 got super flooded game 3
Abzan aggro 2-0
I haven't liked oath of nissa recently, and found that I consistently sided them out against every deck. I still don't think company is very good. I did want to try out the heavy walker version, and I liked it. I only cast domri twice and it was great and weak. I played it game 1 against goblins and got to fight a creature before he came out. He was great against abzan, drawing a card and killing a creature.
I'm still on the fence about domri, at the SCG events, there's been a lot of aggro decks, and he sucks against them, but at my store there is a lot of slow blue control decks where he can really shine.

I personally like it, especially against small-midrange decks. It's not as powerful against full on control and combo decks, but that's okay.

Linvala, Keeper of Silence shuts off the sac outlets, mana dorks, wall dorks, etc.
Aven Mindcensor (basically) stops chord of calling
Hushwing Gryff shuts off the infinite engines
Those are three of my favorites and they have application in many many more matchups as well.
I still like the deck, just dont want people going bananas yet. Keep that in mind.
