So the first day of non twin meta lists got published. 3 affinity, 1 scapeshift 1 jund, 1 junk, 1 ad nauseam (this combo has spiked), 1 eldrazi (red splash, 4 relics 2 claw) 1 merfolk.
So basically, 3 affinity, 2 bgX, 1 combo, 1 blue deck, 1 big mana and 1 tribal...
So far, too early to tell what kinda decks to side/main for, other than like people thought affinity is good.
Edit: again, keeping thisndata for my stream on sat 11 am est. on my youtube
I think once the meta shakes down, it's going to be the decks that go over Tron vs the decks that go Under Tron. Purely Speculative but I think we're going to see Tron become the best deck (First time you've heard that right?) and the reaction to Tron is going to be the fast combo decks like Ad Nauseum and Storm, as well as the creture combo decks, Affinity(ish) Infect, and Bogles. After that, your going to see a shift to more blue decks. All in all, I think zoo is honestly going to be about where it was pre-banning. Which isn't bad. I've been playing the deck for years now and the last few months have really seen an increase in zoo's viability.
Command is still pretty good in the main, honestly. Especially with the rise of Ad Nauseum after the bannings. Keep in mind what was mentioned above though. You don't want too many non creature spells that lower your creature count too much.
Sideboard is going to depend on your local meta. A good starting point is attacking creature/burn decks and then Tron. Something thatputs you over against Jund is pretty good too.
Hi everyone I've been playing zoo for the past month with the landfall strategy and it has rewarded me well! As the format evolves I've seen some new lists like the one in Atlanta running Atarka s and path to exile in the main, and I must say it looks pretty decent, tomorrow I'll play it at the Gpt, what are the sideboard varieties to deal with eldrazi black? It's popular around here. Cheers

If you are playing atarka red, cards like path is better 3 - 1 SB and Ghor Clan is usually better MB. You side in the PtEs for g2, and g3. Thalia and Stony Silences are also very good for the relic/claw versions of the deck. Atarka with the new bushwacker is very insane, so you get really fast G1s. You play the B/X eldrazi match up like you would the tron match up, just hit them hard and fast.
If anything:
3 PtE
4 Atarka's command
4 Bolt
SB:
1 PtE
2 Thalia
2 stony silence
If you are super heavy in B/X eldrazi, roast or flame slash are cards you can board in. Roast has better versatility for 2 mana to deal with rhinos, tasigurs, fish. But if you aren't seeing too much of that, flame slash at 1 cmc definitely kills most of the things in the deck as well as most of the creatures in the meta atm.
Round 2: Bring to Light Scapeshift 2-1
Started off with Cat to BTE+Goyf. He casted Anger of the Gods, which forced me to respond with a Mutagenic Growth to save my Cat. He Cryptic Command tap-draw me, but my beefed up Goyf and Cat was too much and I finish him off. For the second game, he dropped down a Obstinate Baloth which I had to two for one. He ended up comboing off. For the game winner, I Cat+Bloodrush turn two. Sakura-Tribe Elders were not enough for me to critter him down after.
Round 3: Zoo Burn 2-1
He casted Goblin Guide turn one and removed my Kird Ape after I dropped it. I got to three lands and was able to drop Goyf and critters and outraced him. Game two he hits my Kird Ape with a Searing Blaze which set me pretty far back. He finished me with double Boros Charm. For the winner, I drop Cat to removal, then turn three BTE+Bushwacker. He was done by turn four with burn to spare in my hand.
Round 4: Infect 2-1
He wins the dice roll and drops a Dryad Arbor. I hit it with a Tarfire, so he followed with a Noble Hierarch and Pendelhaven. I follow with double Goblin Guide to a hasty Flinthoof Boar. My removal took care of his Glistener Elf and more critters overpower him for the kill. For the second game I mulligan to four against his grip, I had no chance. Game three I Kird Ape to double Cat and Sudden Shock his Blighted Agent. I finish him off with a swing and a Lightning Bolt after previously bolting a blocking Spellskite a turn or two before.
Debrief:
I am really enjoying this build, I realized that I needed to keep more Mutagenic Growths to protect my critters from Searing Blaze. Sudden Shock had done its job, I was always happy to see it whenever it showed up. It still needs more testing though. I still haven't found a time when I wished that I had an Atarka's Command, so I think I'm going to stick with this build for a bit.
So, I did my first round of testing. And i can confidently say 2 things. 1. Bushwacker is way better than I thought and gets the nod past flinthoof boar in gruul zoo. 2. Bigger zoo is still the way to go.
To be clear, gruul still is good. But its speed is at its best vs slow control decks, combo, and big mana decks. The online meta has been pretty much big mana, midrange, and aggro. A bigger zoo fits the bill there.
Im struggling to get my turn 4 win rate up to 70% with gruul. Reckless bushwacker actually is great in getting that up, but not helping my sustainability. Thats been an issue.
It seems to me none of the decks that have been winning in the last day are ones bigger zoo has trouble beating. Like, the bigger zoos have all the tools to deal with aggro, midrange and big mana.
Next testin phase ill have to decide what bigger zoo I should go after. Ill be testing naya collected company, blue splash company, domain, and a nissa's oath version.

Nissa's Oath version should most likely be blue splash. Being able to hit Elspeth, Wildwoods, etc would be utilizing it the best imho.
Guys please opinions on japanese cards. Lost a 3/3 creature against Japan celestial colonade. This guy played all creatures and spells in english cards, but some cards in his manabase was japanese. I dont registrated this really ( my brain say its all fine and all english to me lets attack his empty board)...and i am sure it is a Kind of legal cheating. It is not ok, but i know legal. I Hate such people. I never forget colonade normally, but with this Tricks it can happen one time in 3 years and such people take advantage of this
If I am a customer spending premium amount of dollars, I expect a premium service. Jund falls into the category of a premium deck costing more dollars than a majority of the rest of the format. I'm not getting the desired performance ratio per dollars spent out of the Jund deck because WOTC decided to make the format more diverse.

Very informative, Lantern. I'll honestly say that I didn't expect that - I thought Gruul Zoo would clean up in this meta, but I definitely defer to your expertise. I guess I underestimated how easily the Gruul Zoo kill (which consists entirely of ground creatures) could be disrupted by blockers, especially beefy ones like Thought-Knot Seer.
Hello everyone, I played in a local tournament last night with a new deck for me. ( as you guessed it's zoo.... I think it is). It's a whole new play style for me. I play :pillow fort/enduring ideal, tooth and nail, puresteel and many more fingers stuff. The reason I am posting her is I was shocked that I went 5-0( having maybe 3 practice games before the tournament. Here is what I ran.
2 loam lion
4 Wild Nacatl
4 experimental one
4 kird ape
4 Goblin Guide
4 burning tree
4 reckless bushwacker
3 ghorn-clan rampage
3 mutagenic growth
4 Atarka's Command
4 lighting bolt
1 gut shot.
2 lava mancer
2 nature state
2 path
2 thalia
2 Ancient Grudge
1 searing Blaze
4 leyline of sanctity
I'm kinda on the fence if I should drop one ghorn-clan for another mutagenic. Also if any of you can show me what I can do to improve this I might switch to playing zoo for the scg regional here in phoenix this next coming week. I was going to play W/u pillow fort but I had so much fun with this "hyper" agro style of deck. (Well that and I won so...lol)

Thank you so much mchief111 for the amazing art!
BUG is the Jund of EDH!

Commander: Brago, Yidris, Mizzix, Marath, Atheros, Daretti
That seems much beter
Nah dude. 4 Emrakuls main. Let's friggin battle.
Going to be trading some of my grixis cards for a playset of goyfs (and a foil one, woot) and fetches
I'm going for a naya company list based on Todd Stevens' most recent one.
Any SB tips post twin ban? Do we still keep Dromoka's Command main board?
GBR Jund Midrange
GWU Bant Eldrazi
UG UG Infect

Sigarda, Host of Herons is pretty much GG against Jund if they don't board in Damnation.

I designed my sideboard to combat the aggressive linear decks I that expected to come across.
Round 1: Kiki Chord 2-0
Game one, started with double Goblin Guide, and one trampled over his Wall of Roots with a Bloodrushed Ghor-Clan Rampager. Wall of Omens came down but was futile, I was able to finish with with my little critters and burn. Game two I start strong again with a Wild Nacatl to Burning-Tree Emissary+[Reckless Bushwacker]; a Mutagenic Growth helped take out Wall of Roots. He drops a Scavenging Ooze which I Path to Exile and then finish him off.
Round 2: Bring to Light Scapeshift 2-1
Started off with Cat to BTE+Goyf. He casted Anger of the Gods, which forced me to respond with a Mutagenic Growth to save my Cat.
