I'd bring in all 6 against tron and Bx eldrazi. I would only bring in the blood moons against heartless eldrazi, since I don't think they play any artifacts.
I went 4-0 tonight with that small zoo scg list. The deck absolutely slayed. And besides one iffy keep, I have nothing bad to say about the dryad arbors. They pushed that one extra damage I needed for lethal in a few games and they were excellent for fetching out of nowhere to block or sac to LotV.
Tron question was me, thanks for the report. I for some reason do not like throctor. Think I'm going to stay with smiters. I cut the voices for extra pridemage, ooze and a bird. How's elspeth feel main deck?
dropped my apes in gruul. added some pump. so my non critters are 3x Paths, 4x Bolts, 4x Atarkas, 2x mutagentic growth and 1x rancor. I am a hard believer in become immense but after letting a friend use my only copy, adding a rancor seemed better, one more chance for trample.

Is your list otherwise the same? After looking at this thread, I kind of feel like Reckless Bushwacker might be the new hotness in the Gruul lists. It seems insanely powerful.

pretty much.. all the same cretures, I play 4x vexing though, and added a basic plains due to the added white bringing my basic up to 4x 2x forest 1 mtn and the plain

I'll avoid the Vexing Devil talk, because it's strung out and I got tired of it from RTR Standard. Lol.
You should probably toss in Reckless Bushwacker. Although I can't say for sure without seeing your whole list, but I can almost assume since you're playing V Devil, you're the type of deck that will be GREAT with it.
Still on fence about goblin bush. like 70% of game I only see 3 lands, migh see 4, if i see anymore i am usally topdecking... and it is bad. I think if it was a 2 drop and surge was 1, it would be killer.... OH DUH burning tree. might have to try this.

Even with 3 lands Nacatl + Bushwhacker is 6 power swinging that turn.
Knight is the main reason I play this deck. I played it when Deathrite Shaman was around (I even played both of them in the same deck!), when Ooze was reprinted, when Treasure Cruise and Dig Through Time forced everyone to be proactive with Relics of Progenitus... and I never considered cutting her entirely. Cutting Knight means cutting our biggest dude, and it would also reduce the importance of our utility lands and our chances to push through blockers. If she's bad in game one, I usually take out a few copies and bring my hate cards in.
Honestly, you shouldn't care about the card being bad in one certain pairing: you can't beat everything, and if the card is good enough in most matchups, I'd keep it in. That argument could be used for almost every card in our deck. Tarmogoyf and Ooze get worse against graveyard hate, Lightning Bolt is mediocre against control and big mana strategies, Pridemage feels bad pre-sideboarding against decks that don't run artifacts or enchantments, and the list could go on. Besides, I personally don't think Brimaz and Finks can make our Eldrazi matchup any better...
I run both Smiter and Knight, you don't HAVE to pick one.
I think you're misinterpreting my point - Knight of the Reliquary is a must in the mainboard. That's not up for discussion if you ask me. It's just a question of what gets subbed in for it when your opponent hoses it and it's just a 2/2. I'm thinking Brimaz, King of Oreskos (because I really like that card) and Kitchen Finks (because of lifegain and resilience), but I'm wondering if Loxodon Smiter (who I cut from my 75 because Woolly Thoctar is better positioned overall) should be the one to bring in instead. I'm leaning toward yes, because it trades with Thought-Knot Seer and it beats Matter Reshaper, which are cards that Brimaz and Finks (respectively) struggle against.
The 3 drop slot in coco versions are alot more flexable than people think. Cocoing out a wooly vs a smiter, wooly is the better card, almost strictly speaking. But in the hand, smiter is. Finks, war monk, wooly, smiter, rabble master, oero king, anafenza, all has its uses like I listed out.
And yes, knight only gets better as time goes on. As modern diversifies her land selection gets better. As more lands are printed she gets better. Shes has been, and always be an all star, and where you start looking if you want to add a 3 drop. Geist is number 2, but needs blue. Im waiting until we get a red green white 3 drop... Still waiting. Wooly is only best because of sheer power.
Also. Ill stream Saturday on twitch. 11am -1 pm. Ill be testin out gruul vs collected, theory crafting building both decks based on results, and looking at wacker, dryad arbor, and natural state.
The matchup is fairly draw dependent. Not a lot is beating their fastest hands, but the matchup has always seemed good to me. Depending on the exact list you run, of course. Pride mage is an all-star and clogging the board is just fine. Overall it's about experience with the matchup and what list you're running

Considering to make the deck
Input?
GBR Jund Midrange
GWU Bant Eldrazi
UG UG Infect
Burning-Tree Emissary and Mutagenic Growth are the enablers at two lands.
GRU Tarmo Grounds
I tested Gruul Zoo vs. CoCo Zoo a couple of weeks ago, and my conclusion was that CoCo was pretty significantly favored. I was piloting Gruul Zoo, and I got pummeled. Even explosive, Burning-Tree Emissary-fueled hands are no match for Noble Hierarch into Woolly Thoctar into a T3 Collected Company fetching the likes of Knight of the Reliquary and Tarmogoyf. Mainboard Path to Exile probably helps, but I still expect Gruul Zoo to lose.
