I'm considering running valorous stance as a one of in my 75. Not certain if I want to mb or sb, but it seems pretty decent in most matches. It turns off all non exile kill spells or it's removal against goyf level threats. Has anyone tested this out?
Hmmm this is a nice idea, kill almost everything that Jund/Junk/Wilt Liege throws and the making your creature indestructible clause is pretty good against board wipes.

I went 6-3 at Charlotte today.
I wiffed on CoCo twice today. It hurt. I like that CoCo can come out of nowhere EOT or during combat, but it's unpredictability really hurts.
Choke and Blood Moon are so good.
I never disliked Command. I was always happy to see it, and found myself wanting it as an out occasionally.
Crusader was fun. It sucks that a 3 drop dies to bolt, but no one expected him. He's obviously super funzies with exalted.
What am I supposed to side out against grixis twin? 2 scoozes, 1 coco, and ?? for blood moon and choke.
I was happy with the cards in my SB. I didn't find myself wishing for something else or that I was unprepared for a match.
I really need help with sideboarding. I would LOVE some input. I know I did some mathes wrong, but I'm still not sure of the correct Choices.
W Round 1 Homebrew Elves/Beasts
This guy played fogs, random mana dorks, and some random beasts. Knight + Kessig won both games
- 2 scooze
+ 2 Fallout
L Round 2 Living end
g1: He managed to win through 2 oozes
g2: Ethersworn won it for me.
g3: 2 fulminators + mana screw made quick work of me
- Kessig, 2 Pridemage, 1 Lightning Bolt
+ Bojuka Bog, Etherswon Canonist, 2 Thalia
W Round 3 Burn
g1: I stumbled on lands, but his goblin guide got me through it
g2: he counted to 20 first. I saw no SB cards
g3: dromokas command was real good. Coco for goyf and thalia does work.
- 4 PtE, 1 Crusader
+ 2 Thalia, Etherswon, 2 Kor Firewalker
W Round 4 Liege Abzan with no coco
g1: He mulled to 3. I only saw a forest from him
g2: spellskite won his this game.
g3: I volcanic fallout and hit 2 birds. He still came back. I resolved 2 good cocos. Knight + kessig won this one again.
-2 pridemage
+2 fallout.
W Round 5 UW Control
G1: I'm just too fast.
G2: 2 Supreme Verdicts, 2 Cryptics, a clique, and his colonnade get me.
G3: Blood moon wins
-2 pridemage, 1 CoCo, 2 Crusader
+3 Blood Moon, 2 Choke
W Round 6 Grixis Twin
G1: He combos off early.
G2: Goyfs and exalt triggers get me there.
G3: Choke is a good card..
- 1 CoCo, 2 Scooze, 1 Smiter, 1 kotr
+3 Blood Moon, 2 Choke
L Round 7 Grixis Twin
G1: I flood out
G2: blood moon...
G3: Answer a twin. He has answers for all of my guys and wins with pestermite beats..
- 1 CoCo, 2 Scooze, 1 Smiter, 1 kotr
+3 Blood Moon, 2 Choke
L Round 8:
GR Tron:
G1: Very early turn tron into ugin.

- 2 Scooze, 1 bolt
+3 Blood Moon
W Round 9 Grixis Twin
G1: I mull to 4. Ride a goyf and Smiter to victory.
G2: I resolve blood moon. I path away 2 splinter twins. We play a semi-attrition game that I eventually win.
- 1 CoCo, 2 Scooze, 1 Smiter, 1 kotr
+3 Blood Moon, 2 Choke
Looks like company zoo did pretty well overall at the GP, wish is really exciting. I finished 254th, wish is another disappointing finish at a modern GP for me. I got my 5th loss in round 14 to infect and dropped to head home.
Here is the breakdown of my matches:
Round 1 bye 2-0
- off to a great start!
Round 2 grixis delver 2-0
- Love seeing delver, sideboard: in 2 choke, 2 Thalia, dromoka's command; out 3 scavenging ooze and 2 pridemage. Matchup is fantastic.
round 3 UR delver 2-0
- Again really awesome matchup. Sideboard in 2 Thalia, 2 choke and 1 dromoka's command. Out 3 scavenging ooze and 2 pridemage
round 4 RG tron 0-2
Got turned 3d tron each game, super frustating. Sideboard in 2 stony silence, 3 blood moon and 2 thalia (on the play) Out 4 lightning bolt, 1 dromoka's command. Take out 2 ooze when you bring in Thalia
Round 5 GW aggro 2-0
- It was his first modern event, the deck was green white aggro with fleecemane lion, experiment one and wilt lief liege. Sideboard in 2 bonfire, 1 dromoka's command. Out 3 pridemage
Round 6 junk 2-0
- My opponent constantly kept forgetting about my exalted creatures and make awful blocks, thinking that I had forgot the trigger, but unfortunately for him it doesn't work like that anymore. Sideboard in 2 bonfire, 1 dromoka's command (normally I would bring in blood moon, but he had tons of basic lands. Out 3 hierarch. (also bring out the 4th and 2 pridemages if/when you bring in blood moon)
Round 7 Naya breach 2-1
- This was a through the breach ramp deck with tons of dorks featuring emrakuel and elesh norn. I win game 1 by floating mana of sacing them to an emrakuel, then company into 2 tarmogoyfs and swing back for lethal the next turn. I lose quickly the next game, but have a fantastic double 5/6 tarmogoyf draw the next game. Sideboard in 2 bonfire, 1 dromoka's command. Out 3 collected company. Reason is that I could die before I can cast CC, so I don't want it post board. He had courser of kruphix and plenty of dorks to want the 2nd command.
Round 8 merfolk 1-2 (barf)
- This is the first time I've ever lost to merfolk playing zoo in my life (see:barf). The games he wins, he draws mono lords and my bolts can't keep up. I had an interesting play with command by making him sac a monastery siege and fighting a lord. Sideboard in 2 bonfire, 1 command. (not bringing in choke is interesting but he had faerie conclaves, mutavaluts and oboros, so I didn't see the need of bringing in choke). Out 3 smiter; if they have a spreading seas in play, smiter is the worst creature, since it serves no utility.
Round 9 UR twin 2-1
- Win and in for day 2, always stressful. I lose game 1 by stupidly attacking with a goyf AND a pridemage and he flashes in a snapcaster to trade with the priidemage and win the next turn, completely stupid move by me. However games 2 and 3 I had fantastically timed draws by finding pridemages/CC at the perfect times. Sideboard in 2 thalia, 1 command and 2 choke. Out 3 ooze, 1 bolt, and 1 smiter. Like delver, twin is a great matchup, you just need to not goof like I did game 1.
Day 2:
Round 10 RG Tron 1-2
- Again natural turn 3 tron is so hard to beat. I get game 2 with a turn 2 blood moon. Sideboard in 2 stony silence, 3 blood moon and 2 thalia (on the play) Out 4 lightning bolt, 1 dromoka's command.
Round 11 Bloom Titan 1-2
- Died turn 2 game 1. Got game 2 with a turn 2 blood moon. But couldn't beat 4 titans and an Atarka game 3 even with 3 paths. Sideboard in 3 blood moon, 1 command 2 bonfire. Out 4 lightning bolt, 2 ooze. Command was more removal that could kill a titan and kill a hivemind.
Round 12 Grixis Twin 2-0
- Easy peasy. Game 2 was turn 2 choke into blood moon. Sideboard in 2 choke, (I brought in blood moon, because I saw 0 basics game 1, Normally I don't think it's good against them, but it worked)
Round 13 Jund 2-1
- Got jund'd game 1. Game 2 I have an unanswered turn 2 smiter into CC. Game 3 we both start topdecking, and I find a CC into double 9/9 knight and kill him shortly after. Sideboard in 3 blood moon (on the play), 2 bonfire and 1 command. Out 4 hierarch (on the draw), 3 pridemage. Basically you don't want blood moon of the draw since they have a better chance of making you discard it, thus making their goyf bigger. On the play your trying to turn 2 a blood moon and lock them out. On the draw I keep in 1 hierarch just in-case it's in the opening hand, but you run the risk of drawing it late in the game.
Round 14 Infect 0-2
-Game 1 I have him dead on board, but he draws either a mutagenic growth or a wild deference to exacies me. Game 2 I dromoka's command a blighted agent but he has a growth to blow me out and I die the next turn. Sideboard in 3 blood moon, 2 bonfire, 2 thalia, and 1 canonist. Out 3 ooze, 3 CC, 2 smiter.
Round 15 Drop 0-2
- Out of prize contention, so I wanted a head start back to Richmond.
Overall really liked the deck, dromoka's command was very good. Day 2 I ran into some bad matchups to start the day and got off to a ruff start. Somehow avoided burn all day, so I didn't get a chance to try out command against them. Ooze was super disappointing, but that is mostly because I didn't get matchuped against abzan company or enough GBx. I might cut a plains and play a mountain, I had a situation where it was awkward to fetch a non basic to bolt something, so i'll try out a mountain in the next modern tournament I play in.
Any questions are welcomed, as always. Sorry If this seemed rushed, but I wanted to write something up quickly.
Domain Zoo has always seemed fun, and this list looks pretty cool. I'd seriously consider throwing this together and jamming it at a modern event. Any thoughts? I didn't see it discussed earlier.
Also, wondering if the lack of Goyf is a budget choice...

I'm a huge fan of this deck too and ordered a bunch of cards that I didn't have to finish this deck. However, this is the build I will be trying out: http://mtgtop8.com/event?e=9793&d=256430&f=MO
It seems more streamlined and the person keeps on top 8'ing dailies with it despite him being like 1 of 2 people playing it.

Hi I'm Infecter4life and ironically I only play GBx decks.
Guys please opinions on japanese cards. Lost a 3/3 creature against Japan celestial colonade. This guy played all creatures and spells in english cards, but some cards in his manabase was japanese. I dont registrated this really ( my brain say its all fine and all english to me lets attack his empty board)...and i am sure it is a Kind of legal cheating. It is not ok, but i know legal. I Hate such people. I never forget colonade normally, but with this Tricks it can happen one time in 3 years and such people take advantage of this
If I am a customer spending premium amount of dollars, I expect a premium service. Jund falls into the category of a premium deck costing more dollars than a majority of the rest of the format. I'm not getting the desired performance ratio per dollars spent out of the Jund deck because WOTC decided to make the format more diverse.
I noticed that they aren't running Dromoka's Command and they are running Birds of Paradise in 2 lists, Mana ramp and taking less damage from lands i guess?
@ Osackpo. Why do you board out 3x Scooze and 2 Pridemage against Delver and not 3 Pridemage and 2 Scooze. I like Scooze in this matchup though, because he can get some life and is good against snapcaster. I am boarding out Scooze a lot as well, but I would miss his ability in other matchups. Scooze is still great in some matchups and good enough in some others. In some he is more or less a 2/2 vanilla. Other options we have on this slots are Voice and Gaddock Teeg (as a 1-off).
Ooze is really slow against delver and they can kill too easily, its also incredibly bad against the delve version of twin and delver since we can't do anything about delve when they cast angler/tasigur. Pridemage can help with exalted in combat against angler/tasigur but it is just as bad. It is probably right to leave in an ooze but the matchup is so easy as is it might not even be necessary.
Jund (4-0)
Good matchup, if we cast CoCo we win and we always win the Goyf battle between exalted and dromoka's command.
+1 Fiery Justice, +1 Valorous Stance, +1 Engineered Explosives, -3 Bolt
On the play:
+2 Blood Moon, -1 Bolt, -1 Pridemage
Grixis Twin (3-1)
Another really good matchup, they can't play a value game vs. us unless they lock us out with a Tasigur active, so they have to try and combo through heavy disruption.
+2 Choke, +2 Thalia, +1 Valorous Stance, -4 Bolt, -1 Nacatl
RG Tron (1-1)
Really tough, especially with Ugin. Need to take another look at this matchup & board plan.
+2 Moon, +2 Stony Silence, +2 Thalia, +1 Mindcensor, -4 Bolt, -3 Ooze
Burn (1-1)
Very hard to win without board cards or Dromoka's Command. Maybe need 1-2 more slots for this.
+2 Thalia, +2 Lavamancer, +1 Worship, -3 CoCo, -2 Knight
Grixis Control (1-0)
Haven't tested this very much, but it seems like it should be good for us. CoCo is great.
+2 Thalia, +1 Valorous Stance, -3 Bolt
Living End (0-1)
Really bad matchup, need a Scavenging Ooze early to have any hope. Don't think this deck is prevalent enough to worry about.
+2 Thalia, +1 Worship, -2 Dromoka's Command, -1 Bolt
Drew in the last round because of the prize structure, winner would have gotten $250 + pro point and loser $0 if we played, so we drew in for $200 each. He was on Affinity, which is a good matchup.
+2 Stony Silence, +2 Grim Lavamancer, +1 Explosives, +1 Fiery Justice, -3 Collected Company, -1 Ooze, -1 Knight, -1 Smiter
I think I'll be adding Tectonic Edge to either the main or the side, along with a couple other board tweaks.

Seems like a good idea against most of the current popular decks. take out a tron piece, take out a township vs Abzan CoCo etc

I noticed that they aren't running Dromoka's Command and they are running Birds of Paradise in 2 lists, Mana ramp and taking less damage from lands i guess?
Modern : Huh?

Ooze is really slow against delver and they can kill too easily, its also incredibly bad against the delve version of twin and delver since we can't do anything about delve when they cast angler/tasigur. Pridemage can help with exalted in combat against angler/tasigur but it is just as bad. It is probably right to leave in an ooze but the matchup is so easy as is it might not even be necessary.
Went 10-4-1.
