I don't think you can ever justify NOT playing nacatl in naya zoo...period...ever...
It is 1 mana for a 3/3, meaning even though it may eventually be smaller than your goyf's and your KotR it only costs 1 mana, leaving room up for 2 creatures or some other play...
Countercat with Wargate instead of GSZ? It's more mana-intensive obviously but it can also fetch up land or a planeswalker if you need it to do that.
It costs too much mana.
That's kinda what I'm worried about. Is there anything else that could be a halfway decent replacement card? Countercat used to be a top deck, and that was back when you could play Twin and Storm with ponder and preordain, 12-post instead of Tron, Infect with blazing shoal along with Affinity and Pod. Seems like it should still be viable now.

2 more mana, including 1 in a color that isn't run as much, is a lot. GSZ was great because of stuff like turn 1 Dryad Arbor. Wargate can't do that.
So, what Zoo list looks to be the most solid with Nacatl back? How does the midrange variant play? It looks fun IMO, but not entirely sure how it stacks up to the aggro variant since I have played neither.
I prefer mid-range to the all out zoo versions. I have been playing with a decklist tonight and think I like something around the below decklist. Shusher and Voice are sort of a toss up. I felt like Shusher's ability to guarantee a Bonfire connection against Fae gave him the nod though. I am running Bonfire as an easy way to clear BB tokens and the Fae boards, but it can of course put in work against other matches. I haven't even considered much a sideboard right now. I'd rather play the deck a few times and see what I really want.

I'd play Voice instead of Shusher, it is much better against the decks in the format other than Faeries. Against most decks Shusher is too easily removed for a 2 mana creature.
Pretty sure the Midrange version is going to beat up on the aggro deck, and Nacatl gives the midrange deck a chance to simply race combo and other strategies, while still making the matchup against G/B decks a solid one. Vexing Shusher is nice tech, but I still think that Voice will end up being better against Splinter Twin and Faeries. Bonfire seems like a necessary sideboard card for tokens and pod.

I have watched all the other ones, and since I play the Naya Zoo mostly, I am really looking forward to this one.

Wilt-Leaf Liege looks interesting. Why this over Elspeth or Ajani in the 4 CMC slot?
