Figure? I Dunno. Hes fine I guess. Hes probably outclassed nowadays by lynx and ooze. Hes better in a weenie version of zoo if you're going to run him. Then you'll have the mana open later on. Cant run it in a 4-5 color zoo. Ive seen it used well in basicly white weenie with zoo addons.
I mean, he never was "great" for zoo, even back in his first printing. He was always better in white weenie.
Went 4-1-1 at a pptq yesterday and then lost in top 8

Didnt draw a second land until my 4th draw step and he had wear for my stony silence. Then never drew a third land to bonfire for 1.
Friday I went to the tourney and went 2-1 for the night and took second with Dark Zoo. I felt bad because I pretty much made a little kid cry and a woman angry with the deck. I played against mono green devotion that my removal was key while I beat in for damage, I ended up going 2-0 for the match. The next round I went 1-2 against blue/white tron, which I had no clue how to sideboard for it. I tried to control him as much as I could but that no good, he was able to out grind and get Iona. The Third match was against black/white enchantment, Doran, the Siege Tower did some work in this match. Allow me to go 2-0 with the extra damage from my Kird Apes andLoam Lions.
Not playing knight of the reliquary in this deck to get max value out of tasigur, which has been incredibly impressive to me. Not sure if I want 2 temple garden or cut 1 for 1 blood crypt.
Any thoughts? I don't know if this is the direction of the deck we want, this looks closer to a junk aggro splashing red to enable nacatl and for bolt.
I did try it today and i also cut my burn hate bc there wasnt any burn yesterday and i was hoping the same today.
Needless to say round 1 today i lost to burn, rnd 2 beat merfolk, rnd 3 lost affinity, rnd 4 beat mono Black devo, rnd 5 lost to affinity.
Deck was not kind to me at all in the affinity matchups.

Trying to play the control role against Tron seems like a very poor idea. You are just never going over the top of Karn, or whatever theyre ramping into. You are the beat down in most matchups, and definitely that one.
I'm glad to see the general populace embracing Geist of St Traft and Siege Rhino. With Lightning Bolts being used as removal again and Abrupt Decay reappearing they are essential. But I find myself surprised at the numbers I see. Would people mind sharing their two cents?: how many Geists do you play and why? How many Rhinos do you play and why?
Osackpo what do you bring in Ajani against? What are your reasons for playing him? I have always liked him but have never understood what to board him out against or bring in against
Personally Im running 3 Geist, I would run the full 4, but I dont think theres any room. I posted my list a page back, the only change ATM is +1 Gitaxian Probe -1 Become Immense. The auto includes in the fast Zoo deck for me are the 12 one drops along with 3-4 Eidolon of the Great Revel, 3-4 Tarmogoyf or Geist of Saint Traft, and 2-3 Ghor-Clan Rampager. I doubt I would run less than 2:1 Geists:Ghor-Clan main, but right now Im playing 10 cards to save Giests in combat, and probably could afford to cut one. Ultimately I decided to go with a 20/20/20 split.
If I were to add the 4th Geist the only card I could see cutting for it right now is the 4th probe that I added, but playing a 56 card deck, and smoothing out a slightly greedy manabase at the same time seems worth keeping the full set.
As for Rhino, if I were to play a bigger list I would play Rhino over Giest and cant imagine playing less than the full set.
I'm just wondering how people play small zoo effectively? I tried and it and go good turn 1 and 2 and then sputter turn 3 and be dead (in terms of deck action) turn 4. I'm looking into dark zoo but I found myself sitting on too many 3 drops. Is knight of the reliquary good enough to play? I was thinking of playing
4 knights
4 rhinos
4 nacatl
4 ape
3 anafenza
3 smiter
2 pridemage
2 scooze
2 Domri
4 bolt
4 path
4 helix
I know I should fit 3 Abrupt decays in there somewhere but I don't know where and I'm no sure what to drop the knights for. Sorry if this is sloppy I posted for my phone.
Value is good. But Dredgevine isn't supposed to be about value. It's supposed to be about V-8; 2000 pounds of nitro boosted war vegetables. The more velocity, the better.

Ive been mulliganing almost every hand without a 1 drop. And Im still pretty early in testing with the deck, but Ive found mutagenic growth to be the card gives the deck enough play. Obviously a turn 3 Loxodon Smiter is a real problem for the deck, but being able to make a 4/5 Monestary Swiftspear while tapped out is pretty huge. Lingering Souls is another card that may change how you have to build the deck by going back to Forked Bolt.
As for your list I would run Loam Lions over Kird Ape for mana reasons. And in an unknown meta Knight of the Reliquary ha more raw power, but in a meta full of UWR, splinter twin, and Liliana decks I would play the full 4 Smiter. Then add some decays, cut some Helix's and add some more early creatures.
Thanks for the questions. I realize the strangleroot geist is a little loose, but I can't afford tarmogoyf. I have tried other things in that spot (fleecemane lion, thalia, etc.) but nothing stands out as being way better than the others. the strangleroot geist at least usually requires 2 removal spells to deal with, and haste creatures can allow you to sneak in for the last couple points of damage against control decks. But I would gladly try something else, if you have suggestions.
I could add lightning bolts, but I don't want to lower the number of creatures b/c domri rade is best with a high creature count. But I could be wrong about that choice.
As to the sideboard, do you think living end is going to be a big part of the meta? it wasn't before the cruise decks took over, so I didn't think it would be any different now.
So remember that Boros Charm makes your creatures indestructible. In the bigger lists youre probably not going to want to run any, but in the small list, that's more all-in, all of the modes are very good.

My turn 1: Monastery Swiftspear attacks for 1
His turn 1: Fetch plus shock puts him to 16
Turn 2: Swiftspear plus Mutagenic Growth is 4/5, second Mutagenic Growth is 7/8, Boros Charm makes it an 8/9 with doublestrike for 16 damage.
I was saying if he had an access to white mana for Path to Exile that play is awful, but because the Hierarch had summoning sickness he was just dead.
I will test with Steppe Lynx, but because its the worst top deck of the possible one drops Im very doubtful Id play it over Wild Nacatl, Goblin Guide, or Monastery Swiftspear. If Goblin Guides were out of my budget, or I couldnt find them, that would be the obvious replacement though.

This was how one playtesting game played out:
Me on the play: Turn 1 Monastery Swiftspear, attack
Him: Land, crack, fetch, take 2 (I'm Conley Woods), plays Noble Hierarch
Me: Attack, no blocks, Mutagenic Growth, Mutagenic Growth, Boros Charm - Dead
That's obviously the dream, and a really stupid play into open white mana, but no other deck can close a game out quicker.
his hierarch has summoning sickness. or why open white mana?
His turn 1: Fetch plus shock puts him to 16
Turn 2: Swiftspear plus Mutagenic Growth is 4/5, second Mutagenic Growth is 7/8, Boros Charm makes it an 8/9 with doublestrike for 16 damage.
