I have updated the deck... at first I was thinking about having Voice of Resurgence in for the counter magic match up. I don't have Qasali Pridemage in the deck because in my meta it a dead draw really since no one runs blood moon in my local meta. I added a play set of Wild Nacatl into the deck, I didn't think I would be having the right mana to have it be at full power. So far in testing that hasn't been a problem. As for Doran, the Siege Tower I think it would be awesome tech no one is expecting, well except the person that I have been play testing with. I think Lantern had it right in his Siege Zoo videos, no one expects Doran. But it really helps because it makes the deck better. It helps you in the mirror, against other decks that run Siege Rhino by making your rhino do 5 instead of 4 damage, plus it makes Kird Ape; and Loam Lion better by doing one damage as well. Let's not forget it also takes Cranial Plating and craps on it, which is a pretty big piece for Affinity. I also have taken out a Godless Shrine for a Kessig Wolf Run and intrigued to test with it along with another Knight of the Reliquary to the main board.
It looks interesting I need to grab myself a playset of Courser of Kruphix.. I am in the process of making four color control (black, green, red, and white, who needs to have blue to do control) and I need that for grabbing all of that manas.
One question for you: most pod variants (back in the days) were midrange strategy, which also had the advantage to have a combo built in. Why is there no attempt to put a combo in your list ?
What do you mean? Dudes and the red zone is a combo!
Serious answer: What sort of combo would you put in such a deck? Off the top of my head I can only think of something involving either Kiki-Jiki or Archangel of Thune, and neither of them seems appealing. Kiki-Jiki, while it would be pretty cool to copy a Siege Rhino, is too red intensive. As for Archangel, she's decent herself, but the creatures that actually combo with her are not very good. I say no combo necessary. You're much better off playing the normal Zoo game rather than trying to shoehorn some inconsistent combo.
These were the two combos I could think of as well.
I agree on the archangel of thune one.
On kiki + resto, I would think it is a good option. Resto is a good mid-rangey threat and once your opponent has a board, it is better to go above it than running into it. Triple red is indeed annoying but knight of the reliquary can mitigate this.
I am currently thinking of/trying something along these lines: reuse ETB triggers of huntmaster and blade splicer to pimp the board state. Then you either win due to "critical mass" or if the game is locked, you use a chord of calling to get kiki-jiki into play and combo of provided you have restoration angel in play. I added voice of resurgence to the pack, as the token can get huge quickly and kiki-jiki on voice = free elemental token.
I do not know if this can get me somewhere, but since the loss of pod, this deck is the closest one from my naya kiki pod.
Is the only match up where doran helps the affinity deck? That's pretty niche in my opinion.
2 Tasigur should be goyf 5-6, it is amazing against the UWR match up, the Tron match up, and junk match up.
1-2 mana 4/5 body that can net you CA is very good. It helps aggro against the tron match up. In a top deck situation, it helps against junk match up as a better top deck and delve off irrelevant cards to sculpt your grave. It is also good against affinity and 8rack match ups as delve cards are typically good anyways. TC and DTT made 8rack pretty bad, but since they are gone. Smiter, Tasigur, and Baloth should be in some form or numbers should you ever go against a junk deck with multi-discard or 8rack itself.
I need help with the Bloom Titan deck. I run a Domain Zoo list. Any sideboard card suggestions for that match up?
Going fast and the full supply of Path to Exiles in the 75.
Their hive mind draw should be slower than you, and Titan should get hit with a Path, so they can't do crazy lifegain shenanigans.
If it's a huge problem (say, in your local meta. Or if it becomes a break out deck and sees an adequate amount of meta share) Zo-zu the Punisher should crush it.
How does this deck look? I want to put a focus on speed to have a favorable matchup against Tron without making other matchups worse. And I choose not to include mana dorks for both speed and to have better topdecks. As for the inclusion of Elspeth, she's my favorite walker, and if left unchecked she can just run away with the game.
Having extra oozes in the SB isn't necessary i dont think
Same goes for pridemages as they are probably better as back to nature or fracturing gust if thats the effect youre really looking for
The hushwing gryffs should just be torpor orbs if youre really worried about twin
What good options of sideboard cards we have against UWR Control/Midrange? Last night I saw that's what is going to be very common around here.
We have Thrun, usually used as 1of. I'm boarding in land destruction to keep them off of Colonade and, if they're color screwed by any chance, use that in my favor even more. Don't know if this is a right move, tho.
I don't know if i need to play more feed the clan or another gain life because i don't play lightning helix main deck.
What are you bringing in bonfire against? Feed the clan is really bad versus other lifegain options. In zoo you want it attached to a beater.
you have 4 cards in your board that are 4cc. if you are boarding cards from the lower end of your curve out this could give you issues. People really like rhino atm so if you keep him in and side out cards with lower cc your slowing your deck down, just food for thought. Not a fan of stubborn denial due to it being conditional but others have use it. What is the meta like for your PPTQ?
@jsjohan: Volcanic fallout is not as strong now that delver isn't played everywhere I think pyroclasm is better for the current meta, maybe even just 2. Chained to the rocks is really bad with the amount of abrupt decay out there atm and it fills the slot of what you would want to bring in against rhino type of creatures.
What are you using kitchen finks against? I think he is a valid option if you are trying to hate on zoo matchup but is not really great against burn.
- I side bonfire agaisnt UR delver, Token, other aggro deck.
- What can I use instead of feed the clan?
- I can put out ajani, but thrun, the last troll is really cool against URW.
I don't know the meta, it will be the first time I go there
I would use pyroclasm instead of bonfire. It may hit a few of your creatures but some of those will get sided out in agro matchups. Kor Firewalker is really strong against burn but I don't know if he is too hard to cast with your mana base. Soulfire Grand Master is another option which would be better all around but I haven't tested it yet. You don't need to take out thrun or Ajani just be aware of what you side out for them is all I was saying. And I agree I really like thrun against UWR. I would also consider having path #4 and abrupt decay 3-4 in board as they are the best removal in the format atm. Path for sure abrupt would be a meta call.

You have no real consistent way of finding your combo pieces like you do with pod.
If you want to play a kiki combo the clear, better choice is in UWR control or Twin.
This is not a deck where you want to dumb down your openers with 4 and 5 drops
I am going to a pptq this weekend. I will post the list if I get some results. Otherwise, I will just join the ranks
