@gen I don't think searing blaze has a place in this kind of deck. It's too conditional about its 3 damage and you really need 10 fetches min to make it work consistently, and 16 lands is way too few to work that into. Personally I wouldn't go past 18 land or 20 truly since you need some kind of mana source. Arc trail or searing blood would be more favorable plays with less hoops. Or one of the cards of forked bolt, electrolyze or dual shot which have more value.
I moved to the deck from mid-range because my local metagame became so flooded with Tron and decks playing Blood Moon to beat tron. I wouldn't be confident enough in the mid-range matchups to take it to a serious tournament. Maybe people who have played the deck much longer feel differently though.
G1: Eldrazitron. 1-2 (0-1)
R1: Delver, tokens, no chalices. Quick win
R2: Chalice on 1, but with the young pyro already resolved I kept making tokens, but should've taken the damage instead of chump blocking. Oh well I'm a newb piloting this deck for the very first time (me: abzan, eldrazitron, burn)
R3: Chalice on 1 and I kept a one land hand like a scrub. In the end he had a wurmcoil at 6 life and I had a single flipped delver.
SB: -2 remand -2 spell pierce -2 mana leak; +2 blood moon +2 shattering spree +2 ceremonious rejection
G2: Infect. 2-1 (1-1)
It was my son and we're so sick of being matched with each other he gave me the win and we went for supper
G3: G/x Tron. 2-0 (2-1)
R1: Made off with a pyromancer and lots of tokens for the win
R2: Can't remember how I lost this. I think I had a ceremonious in hand but I tapped out to spit 4 permanents (delver, swiftspear, delver, pyro) and totally forgot he runs Ugin (deck unfamiliarity). No recovering from that blowout.
R3: He mulls to 5 and I made off with pyromancer and lots of tokens and delver for the win, even through 2x thrugtusk (the first I end turn vapor snag, then next turn blood moon -- but his turn he had a forest. Ugh).
SB: -2 remand -2 spell pierce -2 mana leak; +2 blood moon +2 shattering spree +2 ceremonious rejection
G4: Eldrazitron 1-1-1 (2-1-1)
R1: Chalice on 1 was tough, and I had no pyromancer
R2: Sideboard same as G1 eldrazitron. Mull to 6 from a 1 land hand to end up with a 1 land hand. T1 delver go; map; Upkeep reveal snag flip delver; for 2 turns I snagged his threats stuck at 1 land while the delver dug in. Somewhere along the line he played oblivion stone and I snagged my delver back while he was on 3 life, the top decked a bolt
R3: I decided to play control and try a different sideboarding: -4 swiftspear -2 remand for the same 6 cards in, to play control. Blood moon landded, shattered the void, went a little see saw with snapcasters no pyros no delvers against 2x hangerback walker. Somehow after snags and some life lost he finally all is dusted the board but we hit time. Next few cards from each of us had no more gas.
This decklist comes from extensive testing at home with both my sons with what we have (white DnT, eldrazitron, Abzan, burn). Tonight's meta was unfortunate that I had to play against 3 trons (the G/x appeared easier). MVP was chart a course, and delver.
Not sure if I boarded it right. Wish there were more bolts. Deck felt a lot more reactive that usual. Also, 1-8 against abzan/junk: 3 pre 6 postboard. I hate the lingering souls so much and the removals are unreal.
Tonight's meta: 1 affinity, 1 boros (drev) burn, 2 eldrazitron, 1 jeskai tempo, 1 infect, 1 skred red, 1 merfolk, 1 elves, 1 jeskai storm (raise the alarm), maybe 1 titan, and 2 others I forgot/did not take note
Sideboard was fairly thrown together for FNM but I went 3-1 (I normally play grixis DS) BUT this deck was extremely fun to play and reminded me of the old cruise days with how well Chart performed.

I played against some UR deck the other day that was running pyros and blood moons main, I didn't see any emrakul / breach and not sure if it had delvers. Was this just a variant of UR delver that mains the blood moons or more of a blue moon style? I can't find anything exactly like it. Interested in trying out some sort of UR but not a huge fan of the emrakul breach tactic.
I think that Disrupting Shoal is not very good in delver, or in modern in general, I know some people call it "the force of will of modern" but I think it is to much card disadvantage to play when we have mostly one for one cantrips, other than chart a course. Anyway this is the list ive been testing out recently.
I think it is pretty fast in aggro matches, grindy enough in control matches with chart a course and snap chart a course, the deck also can play control against decks like affinity with all of the removal and counters, plus i have abrade in the main to deal with problematic artifacts like cranial plating if its equipped to an etched champion. Harsh Mentor also punishes decks that play unfair cards like vial, and devoted druid combo. It also is just good in the meta in general punishing decks that play fetches, ghost quarter, horizon canopy and other lands like that. Overall I think the deck is well positioned in my meta, also I've been working on adding the second harsh mentor so if you have any suggestions then tell me.

Refer to the non-budget area. Of notes:
- soul-scar mage is weak. Should be delver due to the 8x cantrips available (several comments)
- land flooding is common, and dropping to 17 or 18 lands is plausible (his own experience)
- card advantage via chart a course has been suggested (comments)
- aggro and speed is primary: mutagenic growth combo with temur battle rage; lava spike in the main alongside bolt (as what some of us in this forum has suggested trying)
Because his deck is so close to ours with just one tweak (change soul-scar to delver), my initial list to try next time:

I Agree but I would add more artifact destruction to the side, if our opponent resolves a ensnaring bridge it is very hard to win with only 8 burn spells, 10 if you bring in the skullcrack and 11 if you bring in smash to smithereens. I think you could maybe cut 1 spell pierce because the sideboard is very counter heavy, and 1 blood moon because 3 is redundant since we have so many draw spells.

I've been using a list like this online to some success. Interested in hearing opinions. The deck velocity is very consistent so Young Pyromancer gets a lot of mileage and when the early plays get taken out Enigma Drake sees a benefit to all those cast spells. An important card in this build is Disrupting Shoal which I know people have mixed feelings on, but it is such a crucial card to the strategy as it lets us tap out safely and maintain early game tempo. We can run enough cantrips to have extra lands to help hardcast Shoal in the late game. Paired with Logic Knot, no card goes to waste. Anything Shoal doesnt counter, Knot will. Chart a Course is where we can make up for any card disadvantage and most games I'll see over half the deck so finding it isn't often an issue. Anyway, here is the deck and the sideboard is still in testing.
I started out using 2 Cryptic Serpent and quite hilariously it can counter Karn Liberated when paired with Disrupting Shoal. With a hand full of cantrips it's possible to dig until we hit one and still be able to cast it because of the reduced cost. It may see a return in the future but for now the flying and cmc on Enigma Drake is more relevant in terms of late game beaters.
No one runs a Lava Spike that doesn't flip Delver and can't be flashed back with Snapcaster and can be countered by an opponent's Lightning Bolt or Fatal Push or them otherwise not caring about a 4/3 in a particular game state as an option for the fastest Delver decks?
the card itself really isn't worth the card board its printed on...does it serve a purpose? Sure its a blue 1 drop that might not be a 1/1. I would not put it in a list and expect to win a PTQ or GP though.
So, i don't know if it's been discussed before, but why are we not running 4 goblin guides in UR delver? 4 Delver, 4 Swiftspear, 4 Guide and like 2 Lavamancer seems like a decent creature base, and since they're all one drops they help maximize getting to play two spells turn 2, and makes turning Chart a Course into pure draw easier on turns 2-4.
Mostly because things with prowess are better for the deck since delver as a whole plays many instants and sorc which incidental pump the smaller creatures. That and they would have to remove Delver and it starts to become RDW or burn after that.
Why would you automatically have to remove delver just because you're playing goblin guide? That doesn't make any sense. I threw together what looks to be a pretty cohesive list which I plan to start testing soon. Little more red based than usual I guess but it doesn't look like RDW or burn.
I've been following following this thread since Opt became Modern legal and am loving this archotype. It reminds me of a toned down version of the UR treasure cruise decks, just much more fair. I decided to switch from 8-Rack / BW Smallpox to try my hand at UR again. I have been playing the following list at both my local store for FNM and in the MTGO Friendly Leagues, it has been having really good success
FNM Report
R1: vs RG Ramp / Land Destruction (2-0, 1-0-0)
G1: Played an early Swiftspear and Stormchaser mage, he was never really able to play anything but mana dorks before a Temur Battle Rage on Stormchaser finished him off
G2: I sided in Searing Blood for the mana dorks, played a Delver that blind flipped and used it to pressure my opponents life total while removing mana dorks (one with Searing Blaze). Won G2 from Delver beats and burn.
R2: vs GB Elves (2-0, 2-0-0)
G1: dropped a swiftspear on the play with opponent playing a mana dork. I drop a stormchaser mage and use mutagenic growth to swing for 6. I whittle down his life total, opponent eventually tries to play Collected Company which I Remand and swing back for lethal.
G2: I bring in more Searing Blood's, he does the same play a mana dork, I play Swiftspear followed by Searing Blood and Searing Blood for T2 and T3 followed by Deler. He plays the life drain elf to put me to 12. He died to a hasty Stormchaser and a flipped Delver via Serum Visions.
R3: Vs Lanturn Control (2-1, 3-0-0)
G1: Luckily win the die roll and play a Delver. Opponent plays some artifacts. I cast two Swiftspears T2 and a Mutagenic growth to try and get as much ground damage in before Bridge comes down. This takes him to 11 as he Thoughtsiezed my Pyromancer. I get one more swing with the flipped Delver and two Swiftspears lowering his life to 6. He finally casts bridge but can't get the last card out of his hand allowing the Swiftspears to attack in to be pumped by some Opts I was holding.
G2: I pretty much play a Swiftspear, he Thoughtsiezes my Hurkyl's Recall, plays some more artifacts. I draw Smash but he has Inquisition and takes it, drops a Bridge and I can no longer attack as he's hellbent, with my opponent at 14 life I scoop to G3.
G3: Played out very similar to G1, I play some guys and swing in for large amounts, he misses a few land drops and by the time Bridge came down I had the burn to finish him off.
I am pretty sure Lantrun is favored in this matchup, especially versions running Inquisition and Thoughtsieze, so I think it was a combination of luck and tight play that I got the win.
R4: vs Eldrazi Taxes (2-0, 4-0-0)
G1: I play Delver, he plays Caves and Aether Vial. I follow up with Delver and Serum Visions to set up the flip. T3 comes he plays Leonin Arbitor, I swing in with Swift Spear and Delver holding open a Lightning Bolt or Opt, he activates Vial and I bolt Arbitor in response, Thalia comes down. He then plays Thought Knot and the other Eldrazi that places a card from exile into the graveyard to remove my Pyromancer from the game. I kill Thalia with a Bolt and swing with 2 Mutagenics, and a Temur Battle Rage to smash through Thought Knot, draw a Lava Spike and trample through putting him to 2 life after the Lava Spike. He draws his next card and scoops.
G2: No vial this game, I get a Delver and Pyromancer down, he gets Thought Knot and Displacer. we grind to a board stall where I made enough Elemential tokens to swing for leathal, he blocks and flickers a token, which would leave him at 1 life, I cast Searing Blood on Thought Knot which block pyromancer so it would die, he only has Caves mana open so couldn't cast the Path in his hand. I get the win.
This was the first time I've played the deck with paper cards and was quite pleased. on MTGO it has been doing very well as well in the practice queues and freindly leagues. I still misclick my Scry's on MTGO a lot but I am having fun with the deck. The closest matches I've come across was Lanturn decks and Death Shadow decks where tight play is key. Against Random decks, I have had very little issue and I typically win most of those. I don't have exact statistics but I feel I am winning at least to 66% of my matches on the MTGO practice queues against both random decks and well known contenders.
For my deck I'm unsure about the Izzet Charm, it's a sort of flex spot and I figure as a one of it's not bad, but I'm not sure what could be better in that spot?
Question, why on earth is it that a good chunk of delver decks I see absolutely love to self neuter itself with blood moon? Its either a blue heavy deck that plays basically no mountains or barely any red cards, or a main red deck with a decent chunk of blues support spells, both with insanely non-basic land bases so you get either all red you cant use or red that half a upcoming hand cant be played with.
I mean yes fast deck and all but still it just seems self defeating to cram all that non basic in and then screw yourself. I mean its now somewhat fixed in blood sun. I know that one of the interaction of moon was shutting off tron players and the ruling of sun on tron lands may allow them to produce insane amounts of mana still.
