@MrPhysics13 WHOA :))) Totally comprehensive, thanks so much sir. :)) The deck makes better sense to me now haha I understood the 2 Sylvan Scryings 'cuz this deck draws into lesser Infect dorks compared to MonoGreen Infect, and it helps push Inkmoths against Control and BG/x Midrange. The FOUR Wild Defiance is interesting
:)) After a lot of goldfishing, I think I'll practise a tweaked list revolving around your build >.< (I couldn't grasp or be comfortable with the CFB Pantheon build Also Huey Jensen said in his latest article that their team's list was built on an element of surprise basis, whereas yours was derived from traditional lists of UG Infect)
Thank you again so much!
I didnt have 4 wild defiance, I had 2 - my list has been widely misreported.
Oh you're right. :)) I have the correct list now; thanks!
Looking at making some changes to my BUG list. I went from 21 lands to 20. Figured 21 was just too much. also moved 1 wild defiance back to MB. SB is more local meta dependant, but I figured 3 Decays gives me more options in removal. Can be used vs zoo, storm, abzan, etc... Any suggestions?
Right now, I'm practicing Tyler Hill's maindeck list, but my SB has -1 Hurkyl's Recall, -3rd Spellskite, -1 Wall of Roots and +4th Nature's Claim, +2 Dispel (<- still does their work against Burn and other decks); and my Relics are Tormod's Crypts. Really happy with how the deck runs. I just can't grasp one thing:
@MrPhysics: Do you board out the 3 Might of Old Krosas against any decks? If so, which ones? :/ I'm having difficulty making the decision because of the raw power it provides.

I think I board out 1-2 might vs twin, because its awkward when they can just tap your guy in response, and possibly the mirror.
Im also not a huge fan of dispel vs burn. You dont have much blue mana, because you cant afford to fetch + shock easily. I often try to win without ever getting blue. It also doesnt even counter lava spike. Its mainly useful if they have a card like crackling doom or deflecting palm, but Id rather have G: gain 3 in most other cases in that matchup.
Vines of Vastwood is great not only for Twin, but also against every pump spell in the mirror including their own Vines, against pump from aggro zoo such as Ghor-Clan Rampager, against the modular counters from Arcbound Ravager, and even in an emergency against a Cranial Plating equip. It is also great against the Amulet of Vigor decks that have seen some popularity recently as Vines can stop them from giving Primeval Titan haste/vigilance from Slayers' Stronghold, or double strike from Sunhome, Fortress of the Legion, which actually stops them from going off that turn. Basically anytime you see your opponent target their own creature for any reason, you look in your hand for a Vines and consider if you should use it.
Dismember is great against Twin too, as you can quite often kill Pestermite or Deceiver Exarch while Splinter Twin is on the stack. In your case Kovo since you are running BUG, Abrupt Decay is great here as they can't even counter it in response.
You've opened up a new world of disruption for me! lol
I guess I can keep my AD count back to 2 and up my nature's claim count to 2 as well. I figure keeping one mana open is a lot easier than keeping 2 open.
Probably what stands out the most in this list is along with 4 Might of Old Krosa and 4 Groundswell, I am also running 4 Giant Growth which is such a good card against burn and Lightning Bolt in general. It takes the place of cards like Become Immense and Wild Defiance. But hey, I am not suggesting that people should run 4 Giant Growth lol, I have just been running stompy decks for so long that I can't not run it
True, I was running BUG before Pod was banned, and now that Junk/Abzan is doing well again I switched to Sylvan Scrying instead of Plague Stinger. I prefer the UG mana base too. I must admit though, I do miss hitting my opponent with a turn 1 Inquisition of Kozilek
@MrPhysics13 Alright thanks! :)) I had those thoughts too about Dispel vs. Burn, but it has so much utility against other decks as well. >.<< As it stands, I think 'Skites and Nature Claim would have to do in that match-up.
@UltraMagnus Why no love for Wild Defiance? :/ Also I figured you'd shave Pendelhaven to 1 copy since you have Sylvan Scryings anyway. The sideboard looks remarkably similar. :))
Hey guys, Deciding whether to dust off my infect deck and currently i am working on a new deck list.
Any comments or useful information? (Yes I am using birds as a ramp since i sold off my hierarchs)
Im still struggling between 20 and 21 lands. Most people run 20 or less. But Ive seen plenty running 21. I have 4 nobles and 1 birds of paradise, so is 20 enough? I could swap 1 wild defiance for another forest. And then remove 1 forest when on the draw.
@ Ultra_Magnus. I would cut 1 Breeding Pool and a fetchland and add a second Pendelhaven and third forest. Sometimes damage matters (against decks like burn) and you are happy to fetch more basics.
Good suggestion, I will probably be dropping a Breeding Pool for an extra forest. I do only like running 1 Pendelhaven though as I seem to like drawing both of them when I run 2, and I can fetch one with Sylvan Scrying on occasion too. That is just me though, I can certainly see the benefit of running 2.
