Edit: Haha! I think I understood that wrong? You mean casting Disenchant on Night of Souls' Betrayal. Right? I thought of that you would change one Disenchant from the side to that.
Hah! Yeah, NoSB would be pretty cool tech in our sideboards!
Really though, it is something that has been in Jund sideboards for a while now and, since it also shuts down the thoptersword combo, it isn't going anywhere anytime soon. And boy, does it suck against us. In the UB lists, you basically have to prevent it from entering play or bounce it with cryptic and hope to counter it. Neither is a reliable option.

Sadly I can't test my list this week, but I'll be back playing faeries next week and gone post my results then.
While I was advocating esper for a while and I'm still sure it was the only working list during the eldrazi meta, with
av the old ub shell might actually be better. Still I'm gone try this list for a while:
While I'm deeply in love with tasigur I might change them for 2verdicts main, not sure about that yet, would need to rework my delve package with cut/logic knot then
I like your esper lists, after your first list here I started play esper and think it's better than ub
why do you not use stony silence (affinity, tron and new topters hate) and rest in peace (I think it's more stable than leylines) in side?

Sorry for my english. It is not my native language.
So I was testing this card Ancestral Visions against jund and elves, and it really is not good as a 4-of from my results. These decks in modern are too fast to have 4 of a card that does nothing for 4 turns. I really feel like 3 would be the right number if any. Especially since testing the affinity matchup with any visions feels terrible
Weak against Jund? It destroys Jund. I board out all spot removal and board in my heavy critters. Turn 1 Ancestral Vision feels unfair against Jund, because we have similar card quality (unlike UWR), but superior card advantage that they can't really play around. Jund was a 50/50 match. Now it shifts more to 55/45. AV is weak against combo and, indeed, (hyper)aggro.
ok, though I didnt say weak against jund, I meant that 4 was weak against the matchups I had been testing.

Decks I have in my bag of tricks- Needless to say, someone who wants to play will probably have a deck UB/x Faeries UR Storm XURWB Affinity G Elves UW control
More game results. I had some non-tournament play at the LGS the other night with an AV version of the deck. Nothing significant has changed from the list posted above.
Still fiddling with the sideboard. Thinking about removing CC for Grafdigger's Cage since I rarely board in CC. Haven’t received Echoing Truth yet, but will further consider it in the SB instead of Cyclonic Rift once it arrives. Might also take out Doom Blade for Slaughter Pact.
The deck has been doing well, but I need to play against more Tier 1 decks, save Burn, to really see how things stack up.
Merfolk
G1 L - Typical explosive start to his game, combined with an Island being the first land I played, ended the game fairly quickly. Doom Blade to Lord of Atlantis on t2, followed by BB t3 rather than Vendilion Clique was not the correct play: he had another Lord, which the VC could have gotten rid of, and was able to counter my Spellsnare by playing Cursecatcher before Lord. Not much could be done against the onslaught of islandwalking Mutavaults that followed.
G2 W - Countersquall and 1 AV out, 2 Extirpate in; Damnation out, EE in.
Turn 1 Swamp followed by IoK was a good start, removed Aether Vial. Turn 2 Catacomb and EE with two charges over BB seemed the better play since it jeopardized Lord, Silvergill, and Master of the Pearl Trident. His reluctance to play 2 CMC cards for at least two turns allowed a t3 BB + IoK and a t4 Thoughtseize with 2 Mana open and SSS was enough to neuter what left he had.
G3 W - Took out GFTT and DB and but in the two Damnations that were in the SB. He was going to play first, and would have more creatures on the board than sinlge-creature removal was really useful for. Ended up being the correct decision.
Kept an otherwise bland hand because of AV and BB. Hence t1 AV and then t2 BB, which still seemed like it might become a liability if islandwalk was a problem, but I played it anyway. Turn 3 drew a VC which was countered during his draw phase, but took up enough mana to allow a t4 Kalitas to come out. AV brought up land. Turn 5 gained me 3 life, and Damnation produced 4 Zombie tokens. Ended up championing the BB with a Mistbind, which eventually brought the game to a close.
(Having an even Mana curve, allowing the complete and effective use of all my Mana, seemed like the biggest thing about the deck that allowed me to win. AV was not that helpful.)
8 Rack
G1 L - No way to remove The Rack once it hits the board in g1 aside from Cryptic Command. Countering his other spells simply played into his plan. No Kalitas, no life gain: a sundering defeat.
G2 W - DB GFTT Damnation and 2 Disfigure out, 2 Extirpate and 3 Cyclonic Rift in; 2 CC out, 2 Vampiric Link in. I wanted life and needed a way to keep his stuff off the board. Mulligan to 5 in an effort to get AV. Turn 1 AV. His t1 rack would be the main focus of the game, of how to destroy it. Eventually AV on t4 brought up the much needed Cyclonic Rift to then Thoughtseize, and t5 Extirpate. 2 SSS ended up winning the game with repeated bashing.
G3 ? – Opponent had to leave.
Boggles
G1 W – An absolute rout. Between hand disruption and an endless stream of Faerie tokens to block, the game was mine to win.
G2 W – 2 Disfigure and DB out, 3 Cyclonic Rift in. Again, very easy. I ended up bouncing a much-pumped Boggle back to his hand with CC, which then allowed VC to tidy things up and win the game.

I do think if we aren't playing kalitas then esper may be the way to go. There is probably going to be a lot of hate for one toughness creatures for a while and esper helps with that problem. I've never been a fan of colonnade, but it seems to be working for ivenl. He has been playing them for a while. My last esper list replaced mistbinds with restoration angel. Interesting list stejerry. I am a fan of Quickling actually as it usually nets me 2v1 in MY favor as opposed to the feared 2v1 your opp could obtain.
I've run singleton Blackguard for a while and it's a spicy surprise for people.
2 BB is interesting too. I can see 3 maybe, as many times you really don't want a 2nd one, but 2 seems too inconsistent. Looks like an aggressive deck though and not too shabby.
I've been waiting to play esper since I built faeries, but need a few of the white sideboard cards still. I will be playing faeries tomorrow and I'll post my list hopefully tonight... I'm not sure if I'll have 2 or 3 AVs yet, waiting for my bro to dig his out for me.
Dash Hopes is still in because I haven’t actually drawn it yet, and therefore cannot assess its efficacy.
I know you mentioned this earlier, but man, dash hopes is a really, really bad card. Punisher effects and all that. But no really, it never stops anything game-breaking and it never deals five damage for the win.

It seems pretty straightforward. I think he has plenty counterspells (SSS, 3 Cryptics, and 3 Mana leaks), but 4 removal seems a bit low. I've liked five discard so far--how much do you think is ideal?
Has anyone tried the equipment angle yet?

I like 6 kill spells and plenty of cheap early counter that is still good late game. SSS is a creature to me with the bonus of counter. I love equipment/swords in my deck. I always run one or two main board. They turn a game around.
I like your esper lists, after your first list here I started play esper and think it's better than ub
why do you not use stony silence (affinity, tron and new topters hate) and rest in peace (I think it's more stable than leylines) in side?
I used to play stony silence for a while and it's great, but i got the feeling there is a lot of enchantment removal in the current and upcoming meta, furthermore both tron and affinity can be handled with disenchant, ee or simple counterspells, path and needle. I'm always trying to use spells i can reuse with my snapcasters. I tried RIP as well, but there are 2problems. 1. I can'T use snapcasters and tasigurs. 2. We don't really need need grave hate exept for coco and then hallowed moonlight is simply better.
I get the feeling you have a good argument lined up the moment someone questions them, but Colonnades are you for real?
Sorin3.0 seems cool though, I'll give you that.
Also I'm sure Disenchant could be something better, I just can't think of what though.
I never tried disenchant it's just there to be ready for the sword combo and lantern. About the colonnades I don'T get your point though.
1. I'm only splashing black for 9cards that only have 1b in their costs, I hardly ever want a second black mana source and not having acces to black until the midgame isn't backbracking.
2. Colonnade is superior to tarpit. It survives electrolyce, bolt and kologhans. The meta might shift (I exchanged them during the hard jund/grixis time) but I'm playing a control shell I'll hardly ever tap out to activate a manland before lategame (remember I don't play discard, both mine and my opponents hand will have more cards in it)
I do think if we aren't playing kalitas then esper may be the way to go. There is probably going to be a lot of hate for one toughness creatures for a while and esper helps with that problem. Idk if it better, but it is more solid on its own.
I should maybe try these angels (I was playing uwr control for the last months and they are lovely) I just think they would make the big mana matchups difficult. My problem with kalitas is, that he often just eats a path if played on turn 4 (as we have seen on mcdeaths stream). Sorin is only a 1for1 if our opponents has some blaze. The lifelink is only needed for racing elves/fish though, my burn ma is incredible easy with leylines.
Colonnade gets chumped by fliers of all kinds which is not where you want to be in a format where ThopterSword exists. Might as well be playing with Coastal Tower at that point.
It won't be useful as Burn would have already sideboarded in Destructive Revelry to deal with our Bitterblossom. Our best bet comes in the form of Monastery Siege. It would give us the time we need to counter their removal.
An option I like for the side board instead of Night of Souls Betrayal is Curse of Death's Hold. It shuts down lingering souls (an archenemy of mine) as well as thopters, elves, and used to hose Twin combo.

How would Monastery Siege be better if they bring in Destructive Reverly? Plus, you shouldn't keep BB in your MB when you are playing against burn. If they bring in DR even better cause there will be nothing to destroy. However burn is not that horrible of a MU. Dispel and Negate are enough to deal with burn

Dash Hopes is still in because I haven’t actually drawn it yet, and therefore cannot assess its efficacy. The Mana base also seems better after the suggestion to make it a bit less painful. Thus I dropped two Watery Grave for two Sunken Hollows, traded a Drowned Catacomb for a Sunken Ruins, and a Swamp for Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth. As said above, I ended up removing Dispel, Thoughtseize, and Victim of Night for three AV. Three always seemed like the correct number to play.
