Well at least right after the insane price hike rolls over because **** scalpers
Good news for the AV unban, but the SotM unban doesn't make me too much of an optimist . I only hope that we have stand a chance against our new Thopter overlords.
Then again, Tron us much more beatable right now.
While the lifegain from thopter foundry is pretty annoying, we can still answer their horde of thopters with hurkyl's recall, followed by discard, mistbind clique, or countermagic for the foundry on the way back down. if they aren't careful, we can also run surgical extraction to remove all of their sword of the meek. I'm not saying I know it's a favorable matchup, but sword enables artifact-based combo-control, and traditionally we're favored against both combo and control.
So what comes out of the deck for the 4 visions? Is it even 4 visions?
I personally wasn't impressed with 4. 3 Is what I'd run . Hands like Visions, Visions, Creeping Tar Pit, Watery Grave Bitterblossom, Mutavault, Vendilion Clique can be very awkward. But that needs to be tested!
Okay So with Visions unbanned there are people collectively working on a new primer with minor information and experience. I am trying to help but I think this could be a collective redesign. I think Metillion Germanturkey (if he still plays) and DotMatrix are having flashbacks so maybe there is information about playing with visions that can be recalled

Don't imply that I'm an expert, I just read a lot.
Gut feeling says 3 (you want to see it early, but not early and in high amounts).
OF COURSE THAT'S ASSUMING YOU CAN AFFORD THEM NOW.
AT LEAST THE REST OF MY FAERIES DECK IS COMPLETE. LORYWNMOOR/SHARDS FAERIES IS OK TOO I GUESS.
Well, count me as another person who is on board for this now that AV is off the banlist. It'll be interesting to see if this really will make a difference.

Back from my time playing it in standard, I also remember 3 being the correct number. You want to see AV, but you'll lose a lot of tempo if you see too many too early.

Dude I am in the same boat. I was hoping this banlist was just SotM and ban eye, cause I was okay with picking up visions at 15 after this announcement. Now its like hey you wont be able to afford good card draw AND the tournament fee to PROVE OURSELVES

@Figurative: Personally, I have my doubts. But if full power TSP/LOR Faeries shows itself even remotely T2-worthy, I don't really want to imagine what it'll do to the cost of buying into the deck as a whole.
the good news is that we got thopter sword combo and visions. The bad news is that I don't have the thopter sword combo and I will have to wait a month for the price to relax

Three sounds right; and that's luckily the number I just received over the weekend. I'm going to take out one card from my counterspells (1 of 2 Spell Snare, hand disruptions (1 of 3 Thoughtseize), and creature kills (1 of 2 Disfigure).
I'm also going to try experimenting with Dash Hopes. Has anyone else tried this card out?

AV is unbanned and i picked up my playset like 5 days before the announcement luckily. SotM is also unbanned which is sweet but it's already 28 dollars after initial spike. I will expect a lot of control players to come to faeries and trying to buy into the deck. I think a new primer sounds like a good idea.
I dont know if My version post aquisition of 3x Ancestral Vision even plays Snapcaster Mage anymore. (This is a huge internal debate for me currently as I have 17 cards that can be flashed back and recent testing has shown snapcaster only has dynamic applications against aggressive decks)

Since you post often on here and I trust your judgement, can you give me a rough draft of what fae looks like with thopter sword and with visions? Do we play thirst for knowledge to turn on sword of the meek since it works so well with our army of 1/1s (scions, bitterblossom, spirte)?

I would suggest you not fall into the trap of 1/1 spamming. Faeries should never be forced to play in a clunky manner; bitterblossom's lifeloss combined with the timing of our tribal synergy doesnt afford us the luxury of trying to assemble a 2 card combo

I can see that we want AV, but do we really want SoTM? How would we take advantage of sword coming back from the yard without playing Thopter Foundry as well? Would we do that?
