I'm interested in Kasmina’s Transmutation - 2cmc, blue, removal, enchantment are 4 things our deck likes. Sorcery speed may be too slow though.
I saw this, too, and it's definitely an interesting option for the Roast / Dismember / whatever slot. Everything there has a downside, and this seems pretty reasonable as far as downsides go.
I'm interested in Saheeli a bit, though I'm concerned that like Pyromancer or Monastery Mentor or Snapcaster, she isn't actually a 3 drop.
The Dovin is interesting, too, but is more of a concern for us than a possible playable. The midrange and control decks you bring this in for have an abundance of mana, and it's too slow for stuff like Phoenix and Storm.
I'm taking a break from the leagues tonight to test some stuff in the practice room. Trying to think of stuff that's good against Burn but also against other, probably more relevant decks. Spell Snare? I know Shadow players have been all about this lately, and I've been playing one in the board. Good against Burn, BGx, Phoenix, passable against Dredge, good against both variants of Affinity, etc. Dispel has been a house for me in blue mirrors and comes in a surprising amount of the time. Maybe just a second Spell Pierce?
And welcome to the community, Tumeric.

New domri looks like it could be kinda sweet for us.
I just don't feel like it's a card that puts us over the top.
I like Vivian if we get counter spell as it let's us hold up mana for counters and then we can flash in creatures the way that eternal command deck works. Alternatively, saheeli give us another angle of attack with a go wide strategy.

Been thinking about Saheeli going forward, probably as a pair in the board where I've usually played Huntmasters but where I'm now trying a Vendilion Clique and a Hazoret. Does Saheeli offer anywhere near the same pressure as any of those options? I think it's way worse than Hazoret versus BGx, and probably worse than Huntmaster, too. Clique fills a different role, though I'm still bringing it in against midrange. Saheeli sort of pressures opposing walkers, and, importantly, gives the deck a way to attack on a different axis. But then so does Chandra, Torch of Defiance, and Hazoret's ability.
How much difference does it make that Saheeli doesn't get tagged by removal? That's a huge point in her favor.
How much does it help that she costs 3 mana, which can be paid by any 3 lands in the deck? I've occasionally run into issues with Huntmaster and Clique in that regard, especially in matchups where I also run Blood Moon.
How much does it help that Saheeli is blue and pitches to Shoal? I'm trying to think of a matchup where I'd want her and also keep the Shoals. Maybe against the Colonnade decks, where I tend to leave in 2 Shoals. But then what am I countering? The occasional Detention Sphere, or the even more occasional Electrolyze? Maybe if Zach Allen's Esper list takes off, Esper Charm? The thought of tossing two specific cards to counter a spell that makes you discard any two cards is silly.
Notes from MTGO: the London Mulligan is live and smooths draws a ton. I haven't seen evidence yet of a rise in glass cannon combo, but that may take a bit.

Saheeli pitches to shoal vs Lilianas which could be credible as we know BGx decks are difficult for us.
1. I view Saheeli as a sideboard card. Are thinking of trying it main?
2. I side out all Shoals against BGx. These decks are ones where the card disadvantage matters more than the tempo, and I also think it's hard to keep cards in hand to pitch in this matchup. So while I love Shoaling a Push or Goyf game 1, that's not something I can do postboard.

Probably sideboard. At very least vs BGx we get blockers and additional sac targets. I'm not practiced in the matchup so I wonder if the go wide strategy typically works vs these kind of decks barring a damnation out of their board.

Ugh, yer killin' me [card=Tamiyo, Collector of Tales]Tamiyo[/c]!! Why'd you have to be 4 mana! What a sweet card for us! Unfortunately we'd already get hit with all the discard and sac effects before she can come down. Le sigh...

Even at CMC 3 we might not play this card. At 4 it's easily worse than JTMS, already a dubious include for us.
the card itself really isn't worth the card board its printed on...does it serve a purpose? Sure its a blue 1 drop that might not be a 1/1. I would not put it in a list and expect to win a PTQ or GP though.
The new Tamiyo is definitely worth a look. And I disagree that we're already hit with the discard and such by then, at least in my experience. These games go long. That said, the cost is a little high, awkward, and most of all, the card is super, super narrow.
2-3 in a league just now. Crushed Amulet, again, which I think is one of this deck's best matchups. Got crushed by Phoenix after a close G1. G2 they did the triple Phoenix on turn 2 thing, and you just can't beat that. Oh well. Beat Jeskai Electrodominance with Restore Balance 2-1, in what I've found is a good matchup for us. Lost 1-2 to Affinity in really close games, including a G3 that my opponent topped a Galvanic Blast for the win, but I had a Bolt on top and that would've been lethal. And finally, lost a weird matchup 0-2 against UW Control, which I generally feel okay about. Supreme Verdict is such a nasty card for us to deal with, and it surprised me to see it because they've mostly been on Terminus lately.
Onward and upward, I suppose.

Hey guys! Long time lurker here. I'm running a list very similar to Chaughey's looting list and I've been checking this thread a few times a week for several months. The amount of content here has helped me tremendously. After seeing the talk about some of the new War of the Spark cards I finally decided to make an account and join the discussions. I didn't see anyone talking about Domri's Ambush and I wanted to see what you guys think about it.
RG
Sorcery
Put a +1/+1 counter on target creature you control. Then that creature deals damage equal to its power to target creature or planeswalker you dont control.
It is a sorcery so it might not be too good. But, it seems like a good way to take out larger creatures whenever we have a goyf or mandrills in play. Something we all know Temur struggles with. Even delver could take out X/4's. Thoughts?
I think the match ups where we want a potent enough removal spell demands that it be mana efficient and instant speed. We have had access to cards like this for a while flesh // blood and thrash // threat but Sorcery speed means we lose our ability to play tempo and become a really bad mid-range deck. The extra plus 1 counter is nicer but I can't imagine it wins us too many more games where Prey upon would in this spot. And the majority of people here aren't even playing that.
The wait continues....
Holding out hope for Sarkhans accompanying card in the mean time..

Hello All!! I’m currently building RUG Delver in paper because I’ve been in love with it while having it proxied and on x-mage. Curious on what everyone’s opinions are on the 2-3 flex spots the deck has concerning the “3 drop” spot. I’m currently playing snappy there but it’s been lackluster to be honest. Would we play Shardless agent if it happens to be printed in Modern Horizons?
You can't play Shardless in a deck with countermagic, I don't think.
I'm a big fan of a pair of Snapcasters. I've considered putting one in the board for something like a single Savage Knuckleblade or Vendilion Clique, but the flexibility of buying back a Bolt or Stubborn denial is huge. I'd say I win roughly 10% of games on Snapcaster + Bolt or Stubborn Denial.

Yeah... the deck would shift in a weird direction to adopt the Agent. I'd rather not speculate what comes out for those sets tho. It's literally nigh impossible to predict what WoTC does. Best to just take it as it comes
Anyone play some FNM/MTGO this weekend that had decent results? I wanted to get out and play so badly but couldn't because of school projects I need my magic fix!!!
EDIT: (so I'm not posting a billion comments) Has anyone tried out Traverse the Ulvenwald? Definitely thinking about coming back and testing this guy out.
Traverse is actually a great card. But it's basically only worth playing to fetch up a bomb. We ran it in the sideboard with bedlam revelers but he's ANOTHER creature that requires the graveyard and the hate is just too real.

Hmm... I see. I'd be using it to create more redundancy in my creatures. Just to have them more. It would be transforming the deck into something that's like this...
