You played JESUS?!?! I heard none of his guys stay in the graveyard, and once you think you have him beat he ALWAYS comes back to win within three turns. I like...WORSHIP him.
Hi
We have tarmogoyf (with tarfire he kills rhino, tasigur, angler), mandrill (good against 1/1 token) , stutborn denial (negate for U) and very good SB options = ancient grudge, huntmaster...
so basically those outvalued Terminate & Kolaghan Command?
Because I think with this deck, if opponent successfully drops a bomb, it feel like an autolose (no hard removal), with Grixis, they have Terminate. What do you think?
On Stubborn Denial, I plays it too in Grixis when testing, though.
P.S. I'm choosing between this and Grixis and feel quite confused with the options. hahaha

the card itself really isn't worth the card board its printed on...does it serve a purpose? Sure its a blue 1 drop that might not be a 1/1. I would not put it in a list and expect to win a PTQ or GP though.

RUG delver put two copies in the top 16 of a SCG Modern Classic, 0 disrupting shoals. That card is horrible and I think the deck is much better off without it.

Hi I'm Infecter4life and ironically I only play GBx decks.
the lists in the starcity were awful.... vapor snags? no simic charms? 20 lands? so much more. those lists are really bad. yes disruption shoal is very good. 3 goyfs?

Well, it worked for those guys! I'm sure there are certain metagames that call for zero Shoals. But looking at how aggressive the Top 16 was, I would definitely have wanted my set. Would also love an explanation for the 3 Tarmogoyf list. Maybe he didn't have a playset?

the snags easily could have been a meta call expecting lots of aggro, boucning creatures so the tarmos could get through
20 lands, a little high, but not "aweful" really
and they got two copies in the top 16, so maybe disrupting shoal and simic arent as good as you think in the new meta

The 10th place player did play Simic Charm. Take a closer look at the lists
Snag also synergizes really well with Swiftspear, which forces you to run extra cards dedicated to clearing the ground.

How are you a delver player and think snag is bad? The deck is trying to kill asap, and snag pushes through damage like no other. Without twin in the format, its about time to just be as linear as possible. Land a couple threats and turn sideways till you win.
Anybody notice the three Mainboard spell pierce in Todd Anderson's list? Perhaps a hedge towards Tron and Eldrazi. Also, spreading seas vs. Blood moon? I was hoping this deck would be kept under wraps until after regionals.
Calling Todd Anderson's list bad is silly. It's different, but he's a great player/brewer and it was clearly good enough to take down this event and it looks similar in the creature base to what Gerschi (sp?) was winning with online a little while back. Loving the spreading seas, I gotta test that. Lavamancer is an obviously powerful choice that nobody else seems to be running. I hope he writes an article explaining some of his choices.
The 10th place list is only 2 cards off from my MD and 2 cards off in the sideboard, happy to see others picking it up. The 3 goyfs is...odd, and i'm assuming it was due to lack of a 4th.
One important thing to note is that both lists were running 15 creatures MD, i've been of the opinion that the 14 and sometimes 12 creature lists are too threat light. Also, I don't see Disrupting Shoal picking up steam here. Based on the Top 16 it seems RUG Delver has more than enough cheap interaction to hang without pitching cards unnecessarily.
@P_P, I think the Spell Pierce were a concession to stubborn denial just not being good enough with only two monkeys, but still needing ways to interact with the stack cheaply.
Anybody have a guess as to what the Surgical Extractions are in Anderson's board for?
Todd Andersson's list strikes me as odd. 20 land is a lot, but might have been necesary to play 4 snapcasters. Spreading seas vs moon is interesting. I get that train of thought. Since Eldrazi could be playing smashers and herders t3, seas might be better now because of it's speed.
I'm currently thinking of switching my 2 destructive revelry's for 2 copies of natural state. It's mana cost of 1 might just help getting rid of that t1 relic from Eldrazi players and might be better vs affinity. Thoughts?

I really like Todd's list, despite deviating from the normal cards, you can tell his list is tuned.

Have a look at this testing session. Jeff Hoogland plays RUG Delver versus a Grixis Delver deck. It might give you an idea on how both decks play.
