Doesn't seem like this deck gets too much attention anymore. Anyways, I fell in love with Eidolon of Countless Battles. It can get pretty nuts on a Kor Spiritdancer. Maybe someone would like to give it a whirl.
This deck doesn't have enough lands to play a 4 mana aura that doesn't grant any abilities.
well it depends if you're playing against all in twin or tempo or goyftwin.
If they are on all in, then like any combo matchup, you either
a) keep a very fast hand, something with at least ethereal armor/rancor, coronet + random aura with the mana to cast and hope they don't draw/have the combo
b) you mulligan into disruption (suppression field + removal + spirit mantle), but you've got to at least have a creature/wincon. I feel that your 2 suppression fields + 3 pieces of removal is good enough. If you're looking to add anything, maybe a spellskite to protect/stall your/their combo; and it's really good in the mirror and infect.
Since tempo/RUGtwin both run less combo pieces, you have little more wiggle room when keeping a hand
in general plan a) is still good and can be a little less fast, but b) can go wrong if you don't have lifegain and they go bolt snapcaster bolt with mite in the air since we take a lot of damage from our lands. Tarmogoyfs aren't a huge issue since we don't often add anything to the grave besides lands and we can hold them back pretty quick and RUG can be a little less explosive with the bolt plan given their manabase.
Sometimes we just loss to combo because we're not as fast as small zoo/affinity/infect and there's not much we can do. Yea, we all know that feel when they kinda just go off or oops I win, but that's their whole game plan. just do what I do, hope storm(fizzles) and wish horrible draws upon them and their family for the rest of their games/opponents/life.
(jking combo players, we love you guys and i like playing ad nauseam)
Im taking Bogles to GP Richmond. Still working on my SB. Right now it is:
3 stony silence
2 torpor orb
4 leyline of santity
2 natures claim
2 spirit link
2 dismember
How would I adjust my SB for matchups against Ad Nauseam and storm?
I don't want to run into Liliana OTV too many times with a fetch-free mana base and basically lose the ability to dump Dryad Arbor to Edicts on command.
Losing Horizon Canopy's cantrip-on-demand is also pretty icky.
What do people think about splashing red for adding Boros Charm. This is to combat cards like Engineered Explosions, Tempest of Light, and other cards Wrath effect cards. It could also give my creature Double Strike for an early finisher.
Ok. So we all know how important a T1 creature is with this deck. Since burrenton forge-tender has Pro-red, why not use her instead of kor spiritdancer? They both die to path to exile, but atleast forgetender can't be bolted which is the only removal a lot of decks use these days. I get that kor gives draw, IF she lasts long enough. But slap some keen sense on your beefed up forgetender and you'll have draw anyways. What's the real benefit of the 2cmc kor vs forgetender??
because if you actually played this deck you would know how great spiritdancer is. why would you play anything on burrenton forge tender? like why?/...
I'm having some understandable trouble with the Jund matchup. Wondering how other Bogle pilots approach it.
Do you always respect a potential Liliana when they are at 3+ mana and try to keep at least 2 creatures on the battlefield?
How much do you fear Anger of the Gods coming from Jund?
I run 4 Leylines in the side (thankfully). For those that do, how aggressively do you mulligan to find one? I mulled a 7 last night with a Leyline into a keepable Leyline-less 6. He had an aggressive draw with no discard so I felt that was a good decision, but I wasn't able to overcome his blockers/aggression until Liliana came down and started doing work on me.
I'm still not sold on Suppression Field against Jund, whether I'm on the play or draw. What do others think? Do you include it in the matchup?
Round 1: Affinity. Two early Spirit Link on both games and Daybreaks made this a fast game. Sideboard +2 Stony Silence, +2 Paths -4 Keen Sense
2-0
Round 2: Burn. Round 1 I got destroyed, as I should have. Game 2 I was too fast and lifegain couldn't burn me fast enough (Milled to five-no Leyline). Game Three- Leyline at the start of the game, my opponent conceded immediately. Sideboard -4 Keen sense +4 Leyline
2-1
Round 3: Soul Sisters. Zero Chances for him. No answers in the deck or sideboard. Sideboard: 3x Paths -1 Spirit Link -2 Keen Sense
2-0
Round 4- Affinity. Game 1 I had a suited up Spiritdancer. Game two was his with an early Spellskite from him and I didn't see any sideboard cards. Game three was a longer battle with lifelink trading back and forth, but eventually I got the right cards. Sideboard +3 Paths +2 Supression Field +2 Stony Silence. -4 Keen Sense -2 Spirit Link, -1 Kor Spiritdancer
2-1
Overall I'm really happy with Boggles. For the last 6 months I've been playing Storm and I wanted to go back to my roots (Bant Hexproof from last Innistrad Standard)
The next build of mine will have Unflinching Courage. Trample from Rancor was important, same with lifeline from Daybreak. I'll probably go 2x in the main.
Of of curiosity, how do you hand the control factor? I can imagine counterspells make the game tough for this deck.
Hey guys, I had this casual aura deck since Worldwake and I realized it wasnt far away from this Aura Hexproof build.. (already had the umbras, kor, boggles, rancors and daybreaks) SO I decide to make the deck.
The thing is I was playing Temporal Isolation in this deck and I really liked this card as a piece of removal with a ''cantrip'' (when Spiritdancer is in play). but im unsure if it would work in the modern meta..? I like that its instant and work well with the Spiritdancer AND Etheral Armors.
I wonder if it could be good against Goyf and other anoying beaters. I know its not the same power level as Path but I find it more in theme with the deck.
Note that I've never attend any modern tournament yet and I'm still new to this format.

Instead of Temporal Isolation you should run spirit mantle as the +1/+1 counter makes it more useful, plus protection from creatures is better than shadow.

Yeah I already run those. But if you read the card again, the card is not for us..! it acts as a removal when you put it on you opponent's creatures..! It says: ''Prevent all damage that would be dealt by enchanted creature'' and it gives it shadow, so it cannot block either And flash makes it an instant ''removal''.
So I know its 1 more mana than PTE (alot of mana sometimes) but its an aura that can have benefit for other cards in the deck such as Kor Spiridancer (for draw) and Ethereal Armor (more pump)
I know it did surprise alot of people when I played this card back then..

Oops I thought it did something totally different but Path to Exile is the better choice as it exiles the creature, cost one mana like you said, and the fact that Temporal Isolation does not turn off abilities so something like Master of Waves will still be alive keeping his tokens on the field.

The problem is that Temporal Isolation can't stop a Splinter Twin combo or a Melira Pod chain.
This deck doesn't have enough lands to play a 4 mana aura that doesn't grant any abilities.
Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.
It was 6.06% of the Day 1 meta, 75% of all Bogle decks made Day 2, and I think it might have gotten into the Top 16.

While I love Suppression Field, that manabase would most likely be too painful.

To people running 2+ nature's claim in the sb, I would suggest at least 1 seal of primordium so you don't completely fold to chalice of the void.
