My meta has five Bloom players and it's a very hard match up for my two decks: Soul Sisters and Bogles. Path is a need which is why I main board 4 now days on both decks. If you don't get one to deal with their turn one/two titan, you have to get very lucky.
I played this at my Store Invitational and a GPT the following day.
Three rounds were Modern.
Round 1 vs. Burn. He was only RW and he didn't Skullcrack me. On the play he played Goblin Guide, Goblin Guide + Monastery Swiftspear. I end up at 3 life when I put Daybreak Coronet on and gain a bunch of life. He couldn't find Skullcrack. In the next game, he came off slow, only having an Eidolon on turn 2. He gets me down to 2 life, but I win the next turn. 2-0.
Round 2 vs. GR Tron. In the first game, he got Expedition Map on turn 1 on the play. He got O Stone, then Ulamog from BFZ. I end up Pathing it, but the damage is done, losing 2 land. I get turn 2 Stony Silence in game 2. I play another one after playing more Bogles. I kept a Bogle in my hand and beat him down with 3 Bogle and 2 Dryad Arbor. In the final game, he mulled to 3 cards. I had double Stony Silence again and he played some things that he couldn't activate. 2-1.
Round 6 vs. Grixis Twin. We ID at 4-1-1 into the top 8, where it is Standard again.
The next day, I decided to play in a GPT. Only 8 people showed up (well 9, but one dropped to save us time), so we're all in the top 8 with single elimination.
Round 1 vs. Jund. Game 1, I keep a weak hand. He Inquisition of Kozilek my Kor Spiritdancer on turn 1. He kills a Dryad Arbor and a Kor Spiritdancer, but finally I draw a Bogle and go to work. I keep a hand with 2 non fetches and 2 Leyline of Sanctity in game 2. This slows him down, but I don't draw any creatures or fetches for Arbor. He finally lands a late game Fulminator Mage and kills my Green source. I draw Bogle and Kor Spiritdancer next. He eventually Maelstrom Pulses my Leyline and it's pretty much over. In the final game, he does Liliana of the Veil/Slaughter Pact on my Bogle and Kor Spiritdancer. But I have another Kor Spiritdancer in hand and get my Rancors back. I suit them up. He pays for Pact. I put Daybreak Coronet on and swing for lethal. I was just hoping he didn't have another Slaughter Pact. I win 2-1.
Round 2 vs. Knightfall. He actually misplayed in game 2, so he would have won 2-0. He comboed on turn 3 in game 1. In game 2, he misplayed and scooped to a large Bogle. In the final game, he just couldn't have enough, as I had Bogle with Auras and Daybreak Coronet again. 2-1.
Round 3, so the finals against Burn. I get Skullcracked 3 times on the play for him and don't have Trample or Spirit Mantle to get through in time. In the next game on the play for me, his draw is slow and I swing for a bunch with Daybreak Coronet. In the final game, he does Goblin Guide then Eidolon. I worked it where the last 2 cards in his hand could be Skullcrack and Lightning Bolt and I would survive at 1. They end up being Lightning Bolt and Boros Charm. 1-2.

What I have found out, is that there is nothing better than topdecking a Geist in this situation. It gives you amazing reach. Also, he makes it so you don't just fold to Engineered Explosives for 1.
...
That may be so, but I don't think you're taking full advantage of your blue splash, which is not even geist but increasing your odds against combo. Geist or no Geist, you still lose to Living End or Bloom. I think if you are going blue, the sideboard needs to have some countermagic. Heck, I would probably consider some cantrips on the main.
I got 9th at our SCG States. I managed 5th in Standard States.
Congratulations on getting 9th. How was the meta? Haven't been playing Bogles for a while since our LGS has 2 tron players and I really hate playing them. lol.
Hey guys I'm new to playing the deck, took it to a couple FNMs and did ok with it and having lots of fun playing it. A couple questions about the deck though. What's your sideboard strategy against Affinity? and what do you guys think about the matchup? Maybe I'm just playing wrong, which is very possible at this point, but it feels terrible.
And is Leyline of Sanctity necessary in the sideboard? I have zero Jund/Junk in my meta. There is Burn and Delver but in that case I think Kor Firewalker would be better.
Kor for your situation would be a lot better. You need stony silence and nature's clame to take them out since those are very effective verses affinity and even tron in some cases.
4x Spellskite (Jund, Bloom, Infect, Mirror, Twin, Burn, any aura spot removal)
4x Stony Silence (Affinity, Tron, misc artifacts that could give me trouble like Explosives)
4x Leyline of Sanctity (Jund, discard in general, Burn)
3x Nature's Claim (Affinity, Twin, Burn, Mirror, Blood Moon)
Basically, I'll just go with some silver bullets in the sb since it's gonna be a freaking huge tournament.
I chose to run Silhana instead of Spiritdancer for the same reason. I'll rather go with a more stable build.
I'll probably switch a stony silence or 2 for 2x Dismember, but I'm not entirely sure.
I agree with you on spirit mantle.
We must play 1 basic forest since its our only out against blood moon (natires claim)
I can see my deck playing keen sense now that I switched the spiritdancer. i used to play it but i ended up getting rid of them because i was playing spiritdancer.
Before I acquired my canopy playset, I was ran x2 Wooded Bastion and x2 Sunpetal Grove. Obviously, you won't be happy to see Grove in your opening hand, but after that it's all gravy once you're able to play/fetch a basic/shock. Horizon Canopy isn't essential, but it's great to have late game when you're top-decking crap and looking for one more aura to finish off your opponent.
Round 1: vs Tokens?
He scooped twice to a loaded bogle, so I'm not quite sure what he was playing. However, he was able to play a Gideon, Ally of Zendikar and Honor the Pure so I'm guessing it was Tokens.
Result: 2-0 good guys
Round 2: vs Affinity
His deck played very fast and his Inkmoths hit me for 6 poison counters by turn 4. After I was able to play both Ghostly Prison and Suppression field, he knew it was over. The next few turns were me swinging with a loaded bogle/ w/spirit mantle and daybreak and him blocking with an activated Etched Champion, so he scooped. The next game was quick; my opening hand had Stony Silence and Suppression Field and he couldn't do anything.
Result: 2-0 good guys
Round 3: vs Grishoalbrand
He mulligan'd down to 4 the first game and scooped before he could play anything more than 2 lands. I went into the second game blind and he was able to cheat out Griselbrand to tie it up. The last game came down to the wire; he hit the majority of his sideboard cards and killed two of my bogles early with pyroclasm. Luckily, I drew another hexproof creature and landed Ethereal Armor on it before my opponent played Spellskite. I was only able to play Daybreak Coronet due to his Spellskite, but it was enough to take out his chump blockers and hit him for lethal before he could draw his combo.
Result: 2-1 good guys
Round 4: vs Infect
Long story short is that he annihilated me in two games. Both games I went to Path his infect creature and he played kicked Vines of Vastwoods to hit me with lethal infect damage.
Result: 0-2 bad guys
Round 5: vs Hive Mind
I thought I was going to win game one as I had him down to 2 life after turn 5. He hit me with the Hive Mind/Pact of Negation and I was done. I sided in both copies of Seal of Primordium and Gaddock Teeg for the next two games and won pretty handily.
Result: 2-1 good guys
Between work and masters school, I don't get to play much, so I was very happy with a 4-1 record. My lack of knowledge regarding other modern decks almost lost me a few games, so I have some research to do before next time. Suppression Field and Ghostly Prison were my two all-stars; nobody could respond and definitely weren't expecting to see them played. I may add another copy of Ghostly Prison to my sideboard b/c it gave me some great results and I just plainly think it's a terrific card. I think that I got lucky with a majority of favorable matchups, but it also helped that I'm the only player who runs Bogles and I seldom get to play, so nobody was expecting to see it. My Fridays will be open in January so I'm looking forward to more chances to play. However, this is my only modern deck at the moment and I'm sure I'll start to see some specific sideboard cards; what are some common sideboard options that are effective against bogles?
Has anybody gotten to do any play-testing with Angelic Gift? I've really been digging on it lately as it's essentially a cantripping Spirit Mantle. So far I've been running a single copy in the place of a Mantle, but I'm going to try a 2:2 ratio of both cards and track the results. More often than not, I find Kor Spiritdancer to be a clunky draw, but it's pretty clutch when you're able to draw two off of the Spiritdancer/Gift combo.
I was at the GP Porto Alegre, and I made 6-3 Lost the win and in for day 2 against amulet bloom.
My other 2 losses were against Abzan Company and RUG twin. It sucks because I made a last minute change from suppression field to spellskite and it was useless against bloom. That matchup is plain bad.
Twin and company would have been easier if I had played suppression field instead.
Next time I'll definitely go with suppression field instead of spellskite.
I've been seeing a lot of people mainboarding Suppression Field, is that the best course of action? What is the argument for it?
I never used to play them but I am now. It seems to be pretty well positioned with such a wide variety of good decks. It effects almost every deck in Modern. Any deck that plays fetchs you have a decent chance at derailing. The only thing that comes to mind that it is really bad against is some versions of burn. Even there you might get lucky and hit a fetch. Its pretty weak against Infect and Amulet too. Stops the manland activations but bricks for the most part. The card isn't meant to deliver a knockout blow, just slow down decks like Jund, Affinity, Tron, Splinter Twin, so they cant turn the corner. It is a bit of a nombo with Canopy and fetching the Arbor. I can definitely see cutting Canopy down to 3 or so if you played more than one field. Other than that it's just a great card. I think what I like most about it is that it also helps against Spellskite. Spellskite is the most played nonland card in modern behind lightning bolt. Whatever your non-aura cards are they almost have to either remove or slow down Spellskite.
It does have a little bit of a Blood Moon-esque quality to it against some decks. Once they have seen it, some decks will probably be able to keep hands and fetch accordingly to play around it. It is way better on the play than on the draw.
I used to play Supperssion Fields Maindeck, then I cut them, but now I'm trying to bring them in again.
As JonConner said, it helps against almost every deck in the format. Most notably:
-Taxes Planeswalkers abilities, so we can't be destroyed by Liliana of the Veil on Turn 3
-Also prevents a turn 3 Karn Liberated from using any ability
-Speaking of Tron, it slows down all his manarocks, working as if it was a Stony Silence
-Hold manlands for a while, like Inkmoth Nexus, from Infect and Affinity, Mutavault, from Merfolk, Raging Ravine from Jund and Celestial Colonnade from UWx Control
-Prevents Aether Vial abuse from decks like Merfolk
-Kills Splinter Twin (from Twin decks) and Viscera Seer (from Abzan Company decks) infinite combos, also ruins Ad Nauseum decks plan to cast a giant Lightning Storm
-Basically kills the whole affinity deck by taxing Arcbound Ravager and Cranial Plating abilities
Be careful when using it, though, cause taxing fetchlands is a Double-Edged sword.
