I was just thinking. Ratchet bomb or engineered explosives could be good. Provided you play around it yourself. Blind obedience isn't bad if you have a stable enough mana base to make use of the extort triggers. Ghostly prison could work wonders if you can accelerate it out turn 2.
"No one may threaten or commit violence ('aggress') against another man's person or property. Violence may be employed only against the man who commits such violence; that is, only defensively against the aggressive violence of another. In short, no violence may be employed against a nonaggressor. Here is the fundamental rule from which can be deduced the entire corpus of libertarian theory." - Murray Rothbard, Cited from "War, Peace, and the State"
I will say this. I've beaten Ghostly prison, and I've beaten two ghosts out. A turn 2 smiter makes me crap my pants though. With out a Rampager, I cant beat that blocker, and gives enough time for you to stall me out.
Right now, it's a work in progress. I ran mono white Death & Taxes last weeked at Dragon's Maze PTQ, and tested a LOT against the R/G deck. Lantern is right - Finks was a big problem for them. That's why I want to main 3. It helps shore up the aggro matchups.
My sideboard last weekend (for mono white) was as follows:
I like the 4 Leylines, the artifact/enchant hate, and potentially the Revokers. I think with the GW version, we have access to Teeg, Pridemage (instead of Disenchant), Choke, etc. I also think Kor Firewalker is worth a shot, alongside some added removal in Sunlance or Harm's Way. I'm thinking something along the lines of:
Hi, I'm thinking about picking up this deck on mtgo and I have a long list of questions:
I'm just wondering how necessary finks are against the really fast aggro decks. Is there generally enough time to stabilize w/o them? I'm also curious if this deck is able to put up a reasonable clock against combo most of the time? (Is wilt-leaf, lingering souls, gavony not a good clock/stabilizer?) Does the black splash dilute the game plan tremendously? It's nice for lingering souls, disruption, and a few creatures, but does it then become more death and taxes splash green(?).
A few deck lists I see, run certain 1of creatures, with no additional copies in the sb or mb. Are these creatures (sigarda, thrun, pridemage, spellskites) essential in certain mu or just icing?
I understand the deck is very flexible, but would like to understand the general mu disadvantages. Thanks for the help.
I'm also wondering how important the 1 maindeck Spellskite is. Thinking of playing the list from the link above, only replacing Spellskite for a 2nd Finks, and 1 Thalia for an Elspeth. Are 4 Thalia really necessary?
I realize senrabselim won an event with that list, and that it's good and stuff, but I am really having trouble with that 1/3 colorless manabase in testing. And I'm missing smiters and townships. I guess it comes down to a question of strategy. Hate vs aggro. I am trying to balance his list with mine, and i'll see if i can post a list shortly..
EDIT: Decklist below.
Had some success with this list in the limited testing I was able to do.
I dont think ghostly prison is the route this deck wants to go. I turn 2/3 smiter or finks is pretty darn good against aggro.
Im actually working on a list right now with Boros Reckoner and he is good at slowing aggro
In my experience it's not even close to good enough against the r/g bloodrush deck. They are just speed bumps.

Finks is likewise a pain.
My opponents must have drawn really well then because I've played smiter into finks into baneslayer and still got run over.

I'm still working on a list; it currently has 4 loxodon smiters, but I'm not sure if I want any Wilt-Leaf Liege with no tokens/gavony in the my list.
Is the +1/+2 on creatures relevant when closing out combo/tron/w.e with hate out? Liege doesn't seem great anywhere else, besides closing games quicker (if it even does that), jund and maybe some creature mu's (doesn't feel like it helps though).
I dont feel miser 1 of's have any place in this deck. With no real draw engine or way to search for them in that guys list who won the premier guessing he just luck sack drew the guys he needed when he needed them. This deck is a meta game dependent deck I say 2+ copies of any tech creature or 0 (ie thrun, linvala, baneslayer, siguarda, smiter, crusader) I took 2nd in a 60 player modern tournement last weekend with the taxes hatebear version. Noted there were lots of u/w control , u/w/r control, several zooish/burn and at least 5 pod decks and put in the approprate creatures. 2 thrun 2 linvala 3 baneslayer 4 smiter. Mirran crusader is just bad if your meta is full of lightning bolts. I have never ever been unhappy to see a topdecked thrun he is just a house and he lives through 9/10 board wipes.

Nice. AND he didn't try to shoehorn DRS or fauna shaman into the deck. I like it.

I've been playing this deck on MTGO for some time now and I think I fanally build a something that win with more consistence, mainly random decks.
I still have some troubles with UWR decks and that Hexproof enchantment deck and this is why I'm using Aura of Silence on the SB.
Right now I'm thinking if I go to GW or not, but now that I have a stable verion mono white I'll keep playing it too even if I build a GW.
I only play this deck on line. In paper I have other options...I think I dont have any of this cards in paper!
