The ebridge should hold them long enuff for us to try n get those quick kills. I have crumble in my sb. Should i face them, which land should i target? Temple or EoU?
Temple, without a doubt. My sequence would be Temple > EoU > Urborg. Reason being the other 2 land are legendary, they''ll definitely limit the amount of mana they can make at any point.
Also, is affinity really having trouble against Eldrazi? I pretty much felt the aliens are food for the robots :s
They can't efficiently deal with the swarming threats
I'm too scared to run a list that involves the 4 Galvanic blasts and 2 Shrapnel blast, I would never know what to take out, or be too afraid to see a hand with 2 red spells and 4 creature/lands
Frankly, the Shrapnel Blasts are to an extent dubious. I would certainly not consider them a key component. In five matches, I didn't play one last night. I wouldn't feel badly about boarding them out at all. Most of the time, however, Steel Overseer is the card I board out. I will often board out a single Master.
Galvanic Blast is simply awesome. It's better than Lightning Bolt. Burn players would give body parts for a four-damage spell for one mana. Speed kills and Galvanic is an accelerant. It's also key to having a chance game one versus Infect. One early removal is usually all that's needed to out race them.
1 Memnite and 2 Welding Jar because i expect a lot of Hate these days and Welding Jar is one of the best ways to get the Steel overseer online, also it is pretty good to regenerate a flyer in the mirror.
at first i was a bit afraid of only playing one Memnite because of springleaf drum drum activation, but my test games showed that i used welding Jar like in each game it was on board and it activates Mox opal so explosive starts where not the Problem.
Next Thing that i did was moving 2 Etched Champion to the sideboard, simply because Eldrazi lough about this one. Torn joins the Party and he Costs 3 Mana! sure he is pretty good against Burn/ U(w)R- Delver Burn...Control but Master of etherium is pretty nice in these matches too. and since Lingering souls is the key card for Eldrazi to beat us, master becomes even more valuable.
Against U(W)R Path to Exile often Speeds up our Mana so that we can resolve the next Master pretty easily.
So 2 Galvanic Blast....wait what Twin is banned and still Blast? Yeah sure! This thing gives reach man and out of the Eldrazi matchup it will always find a decent target even without twin.
3 Thoughtcast ok i now 8 colored spells is a lot but thoughtcast is pretty good when you are not playing against Infect so try it out, you can cut one easily here but i had no problems supporting 3 even with my 3 Glimmervoid's.
Last but not least: 3 Glimmervoid: i think you should always play 3 of these. Playing 4 is good when you are not very experienced with the Deck and do not know when to Keep or Mulligan exactly (and this is what affinity is all about). And i am pretty sure that you will never need more than 3 Glimmervoids as long as we have Mox opal and Drum. And as long as we do not play more than 4 3CC Spells. I think everyone has his own taste here but i will always go with 3
SB: Blood Moon is very questionable and i will side him out for another Whipflare i think. i always had Moon and i think i want to stick with it for some more time to see if he can shine in any matchups anymore.
The rest is pretty standard, Hangarback Walker is pretty new for me and i am not sure if he really is what i want, anyone has experience with this Dude? Would like to now!
3 Ancient Grudge: affinity is big, never loose to the mirror! Whipflare was pretty good against Eldrazi in my testing because they have a lot of tokens! and actually your sideboard is pretty small against them so i played like: -1 Etched Champion, -2 Galvanic Blast, - 1 Thoughtcast, -1 Signal Pest and Put in 2 Thoughtseize (They often lack critters, take them! Stony silence is a good target too :/), Ghirapur Aether Grid cleans tokens, Whipflare and Hangarback Walker buys time on the ground and gets me in the Air, sounds like this is what we want to do in this matchup.
This is the list I have been winning with for the past 2 weeks. Not a lot of eldrazi decks around, so not really focused on that matchup. Currently 2 zoo, 2 infect, 1 G/r, 1 Eldrazi, Jeskai Kiki, 2 Lantern, 1 Abzan company, and 3 burn decks.
Yes, that is an Tezz, AoB in the 75. He has been phenomenal against the slower decks/Burn. Whoever was asking for Hangarback walker, he is good against jund, merfolk. Any deck with path makes you a tiny bit sad and best when they go to creeping/shatterstorm(ofc). Truy one in the main, and once you get it plus arcbound, you will see how powerful it is! The one thoughtcast has been pleasant, might go to more copies. I am not a huge fan of ensoul, only because it is bad against any path/terminate decks.
Met BR Eldrazi just now, not as easy as i thought it would be. They have 4x bolts, 3x pyroxclasm n 3x go for the throat in their mainboard. Not forgetting their thoughtseize n IoK.. Much more resilient compared to the mono black counterpart. Won game 1 and lost the remaining 2. Crumble to dust kept getting discarded.

The BR Eldrazi version plays like a Jund deck with lots of disruption and Tarmogoyf-like threats to back it up. BR Eldrazi preys on aggro decks, which makes Affinity's matchup close to very unfavourable. Etched Champion can be blocked by all the creatures from the Eldrazi deck.
A bit hard to cast those blood moons with all the discard around.. Abzan, Jund and now this..
Sorry, my opponent was using doom blade instead. As he claims he has more problems with affinity than other decks..
Honestly, between MTGO, my local meta and the tournament results, I think ensoul artifact is very bad in this current meta, I don't want to see me get my stuff Path'd.
The rest looks standard, although I super don't like the Galvanic blast in the sideboard
No Ancient grudge? Man, I think you'll super regret that, especially if you run into the mirror match. If you make it far into a tournament, it'll be extremely likely you'll face an Affinity player anywhere from 1 to 3 times
So, I played Bogles on MTGO, and man, I find the matchup very difficult. Overseer completely sucks and is way too slow, and if they land Stony Silence you can forget the Ethergrid route, they'll kill you way too quick for that
Any advice on that matchup and a sideboard guide?
Otherwise, things have gone well, I had several people with tier 1/tier 2 decks rage quit on me as I was about to swing for lethal, never thought MTGO would be like Xbox Live, as if the loss really counts against them and their KDR ratio's.
I've been really enjoying having 3 Master of Etheriums and 2 Champions in the board, boarding out Etheriums games 2 and 3 and putting in the Champion against the heavy removal, interactive decks. If they play Solitaire, MOE is literally like Platings 4,5 and 6.
I didn't really believe people at first, but I've been finding 2 Stubborn denials waaaaay better in the sideboard than Dispel.
I tend to mulligan more aggressively vs bogles just so that I know I can out race them. Whipflares come in to take out their creatures before they can be equipped and I go for the infect kill first if I can just because it's a lot quicker.
Bro bro's, been messing with this configuration, it's been successful in the practice rooms, I actually have a positive matchup against Jeskai decks/UW right now
I found it's still way too important to cut out all the Galvanic blasts, and if they have something like Kataki I need to bring in dismember (which actually saved me)
Thoughtcast is a lot of gas in more grindy matches, more explosive hands
I was incredibly unhappy to see Spellskite against most decks, it's usually just helping me durdle. I want threats or critical answers, not a spellskite. It's still critical against burn, infect and bogles so it's definitely in the 75, but with Twin gone, I feel less obligated to maindeck it
Welding jar is an absolute allstar
Stubborn denial has me convinced, it's crazy good in this deck, it's not difficult to have it's ferocious cost go off at all, I will not be doing back to spellpierce. I hope you guys give it a try too, it's a force spike early on and a straight up counter once you get those creature cards off
Blood Moon seems like utter crap to me now. Everytime I play Eldrazi decks it's an awful card to see in my opening hand, i'm doing nothing for a turn, and I'd rather just swarm the board or make one big ass attacker anyway. Blooms gone now, I don't like using Moon against Tron, and honestly Jeskai decks need to be pressured with our fragile creatures, not slowed down slightly
I'd rather be at 27 creatures, but the 3 thoughtcast has me thinking I have more explosive starts and card advantage, and 2 of those creatures I removed (spellskite/memnite) didn't attack for damage anyway. And against decks with Stony Silence and whatnot, I'm boarding out Overseers anyway and still having a lower creature mass games 2 and 3 anyway
If they have a very heavy removal deck, I board out Master of Etherium and replace one with a Champion. Stony Silence decks usually means Overseer is complete crap.
Against control decks you want to land an ethergrid or champion and ride it to victory
I just beat a poor Azorious deck with a no land hand, ornithopter and cranial plating, welding jar, thoughtseize and stubborn denial plucked everything he needed. Played a plating along with it turn 1, got it snared, top decked a second plating, and it was game from there.
I'd be super salty if someone beat me down with one creature and no land in his opening
Merfolk is one of our match-ups. Both decks are trying to do the same thing, we are just a turn faster in general. Add in that you basically have no interaction with what we are trying to do and it gets ugly quickly. If you want hard percentages I would say it's something like 70/30.
What's everyone's thoughts on the split of Thoughtcast/Galvanic Blast in the current meta? What split do you play? I've always liked Thoughtcast but I can never seem to get some consensus.

I'm still on the four galvanic blast // no thoughtcast split.
I've honestly NEVER liked thoughtcast : /
What do you think of Sea Gate Wreckage? I've noticed no one seems to be brewing with it. 4 mana is alot... but it seems like a potential option for late game when you start top decking mana sources.

Im a fan of thoughtcast and use a 3/2 blast/tc split. but game 2 I usually board it out for more specific answers. like many have said it's better in a more grindy meta but I still like it game 1.
as for sea gate wreckage I think it's more of the same. i got myself a one of to keep as in a more grindy meta it becomes a lot more useful but right now it's good but not optimal. my opinion anyways

I would agree with this assessment. Needing four mana to draw a single spell is very difficult, unless you are drawing nothing.
I've just never liked thoughtcast. I've always preferred just to play more threats.

Started playing affinity two years ago, than i played one Year Bloom titan and now i am bock on the robots!
My old list was like 3 etched champion, 4 galvanic blast and 2 memnite the rest was pretty standard 4 glimmervoid (i played 4 because i was lacking experience for the Keepers), etc.
But i want to talk about the new Meta and not about my one year old affinity list
so let's start!
Here is the list at first
4 Ornithopter
4 Steel Overseer
4 Signal Pest
4 Vault Skirge
4 Arcbound Ravager
3 Master of Etherium
1 Etched Champion
4 Mox Opal
4 Springleaf Drum
4 cranial Plating
2 Welding Jar
3 Thoughtcast
2 Galvanic Blast
4 Inkmoth Nexus
4 Darksteel Citadel
3 Glimmervoid
1 Island
3 Ancient Grudge
2 Thoughtseize
2 Spell Pierce
2 Etched Champion
1 Hangarback Walker
1 Spellskite
1 Ghirapur Aether Grid
1 Wear// Tear
1 Blood Moon
1 Whipflare
1 Memnite and 2 Welding Jar because i expect a lot of Hate these days and Welding Jar is one of the best ways to get the Steel overseer online, also it is pretty good to regenerate a flyer in the mirror.

Master of Etherium blocks the Board (Blight Herder, Oblivion sower,...) and makes our flyers big enough to crack through Lingering Souls. The disadvantage to Etched Champion is sure there, but i had good results with him all over the last two weeks.
So 2 Galvanic Blast....wait what Twin is banned and still Blast? Yeah sure! This thing gives reach man and out of the Eldrazi matchup it will always find a decent target even without twin.
