Some affinity players I know think recall is just mind warping but honestly with a decent amount of board states I miss one combat step and just second main my stuff back into play. Or you EoT it and I miss the next turn's combat, and in the mean time I'm just grudging your stuff.
I agree, AG is better overall, but a well timed Recall can close the game. I'm theory thinking, but Recall requires you to have a closing otherwise its a waste of time.
My updated list, seeing Dyne's success with it I have moved to 4 Galvanic Blast over 2/2 with Thoughtcast, and I also have a similar sideboard but obviously i tweaked it a bit

the 1 ??? changes between Ethersworn Cannonist for the new Jeskai decks, or Hurkyl's Recall, which has been INSANE in the mirror haha
I would prefer Ethersworn Canonist currently.
Jeskai Combo is a thing, and this card is fairly good against them.
Thats what it is right now, ya. Glad to know we're on the same page
For now I'm using Rule of Law, just because I dont have one.
how do you feel about the current board with that in it? The only card I'm "iffy" about is the Torpor Orb, but other than that I'm REALLY happy with the current 75
went 3-0 last night with DXI edge deck list. was lucky in the last game that I had nut draw and opponent do not have the white mana to cast stony silence.
overall sideboard seems ok. the last slot for sideboard I will include 1 wear//tear instead of master of etherium or canonist.
for the jeskai ascendancy matchup, my take is sideboard in wear//tear, thoughtseize and maybe anti graveyard cards in case the play past in flames. this should be sufficient to slow them down enough to secure win.
any idea what are their sideboard against us?
Haha please dont call the Mainboard my list, I came to something close on my own before GP DC but that is all Dyne. He convinced me to play 4 Galvanic Blast. Sideboard I can take credit for i guess since its mine haha.
haha, most affinity are very similar anyway, so the mainboard is not too much of a difference. I have tried some other variant before, but I like this more, more aggressive. I have to admit I was thinking what the heck with so many 1 of, can I draw the solution or hate I need? after last night I see how your sideboard perform by attacking different aspect of current meta decks and they can be cross used against different matchup. I have to said the sideboard is well designed for open meta. the only thing I would add is 1 wear//tear as I am more scared of stony silence than shattering storm and such as it not only screw my creatures, but mana as well.
This awesome things with sideboard like this is the fact that as you said, sure it's one ofs but it's similar 1 ofs with specific purposes that fill other purposes when needed.
I've been happy with 1 wear/tear but Ivan see the excuse for 2. With the addition of galvanic blast and Ensoul artifact stony silence becomes less of a problem (although still a problem) and the only 2 decks that run it concistently are UWR Control, which you don't want too many of these, and Junk midrange which I could see wanting two but they also haw hand disruption.
I ran pretty much Dyne's build at GP Orlando's side events except I added 1 overseer and -1 master. There's a lot of affinity in Florida and overseer can take over the match up. Anyways went undefeated with it all weekend. The sideboard I tried 3 copies of stubborn denial...it didn't do much, would have rather had thoughtseize or gut shot. Kataki is real annoying. Didn't see any jeskai decks either, was hoping to play against it. Moral of the story stubborn denial was a waste of 3 slots and if in Florida be ready for burn and affinity decks.
So I'm going to both Grand Prix Madrid and Grand Prix Milan, and I've decided to play Affinity. I haven't had too much hands on experience recently mostly due to where I live and the fact that not many people here actually play Modern. I'd still say I have a healthy knowledge of the format and I know most of the interactions in Affinity due to playing it in earlier modern seasons. I'd be very interested in working with any other people who are going to either GP, so that we can find the best version of the deck for the event. This is my current list, which I have a few doubts about:

Not a big fan of welding jar or dismember main board, I would drop those 2 and run ensoul artifact instead. I would try to fit a third in there as well. As far a sideboard, 2 ancient grudge over the seals. 2 wear//tear over the spell pierce and cut one relic for either gut shot or grafdiggers cage. The seals can be played around I feel and the 2/2 split of wear//tear and grudge are good in the mirror due to ensoul artifact being a thing. Wear//tear also take out jeskai ascendancy and Stoney silence. Gut shot for many different decks and kataki(she so annoying turn 2).
Any idea about the meta over there?
I don't like Ensoul Artifact because it can open you up to getting blown out by some cards. I've heard that people like it against BG based decks but I find that even though Abrupt decay will occasionally still just trade 1 for 1 with it, the way these decks usually beat you is by answering your cards that matter, and Ensoul artifact is on the more fragile end while also having less synergy than other cards. In my personal experience, Rock usually beats Scissors (pun intended). The reason I really like Seal of Primordium is because I generally don't like holding up mana while playing this deck, the two exceptions being holding up spell pierce against sweepers and removal against twin. Seal can come down and almost act as a strange kind of duress against Stony Silence where they have to find an answer to Seal first. In the meantime, you can build up your board. The games where stony silence matters it's important to build up a strong board before it comes down, and seal allows you to buy time. Don't forget that Affinity is an aggressive deck, so most of time just time walking your opponent should be enough to kill them. The dismember is there as a fifth removal spell maindeck against twin. As for the Welding Jar, I wasn't certain what card to add but I've liked Welding Jar a lot, since it helps protect the cards that matter, such as Overseer, Master, and Plating of course.
I'll try out the suggestions to change the sideboard and let you know what I think. Thanks for the advice.
As for GP Madrid, I'm uncertain what the meta there will look like but I think predominantly:
-People will be afraid of Ascendancy, but less people will play it than anyone expects.
-People will go to decks like Twin as anti-combo combo decks.
-Infect might be present due to it's success in Boston, and the fact that it has around the same clock as Ascendancy.
-If anyone has the same reasoning I have Junk (sorry, Abzan) would be a reasonable 2nd level deck, since it both won GP Boston and beats up the previous three decks. Well, let's not kid ourselves, people like playing with their Bobs and Goyfs.
Still, it's good to expect a reasonable amount of everything due to how open the format is.
What is the consensus on running Lodestone Golem in the sideboard for the control matchup? Affinity is a fast enough deck that it can generate 4 mana consistently on turn 3. Also, it doesn't affect any of our spells, not even Thoughtcast. The only spell I see it being an issue with is Galvanic Blast, but that doesn't feel like it even hurts the deck that much.
I personally felt that it is too slow. also 3 toughness is not bolt proof and without evasion, he is not going to get much damage through and most likely a wasted slot and a wasted turn casting it. if the toughness is 4, it can be considered, however, affinity is a fast deck, it might not sit well in the 75.

I give it a dies-to-Lightning-Bolt-will-not-play/10
