What do you guys think about Ensoul Artifact? It seems like a pretty interesting card to me. Putting it on a Vault Skirge should win just about every race, and gives some uses to Mox Opal and Springleaf Drum once they become more or less useless. Of course, very weak against Path to Exile but seems hard to deal with against most other removal. Could also slap it on an Inkmoth Nexus for surprise finishes and is a nice way to beat a Stony Silence.
I don't actually play Affinity or even Modern but just wanted to hear from people who actually play the deck about this card.
If I wanted to make an artifact a 5/5 creature, I would play Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas. Besides costing 4 and two different colors, he can draw you gas, and he's also a win condition. With auras, there is always the risk of getting 2 for 1'd.
Ensoul Artifact is insane. Turn 1 Ornithopter, Mox Opal, Island and some other 0 drop then Ensoul Artifact (its a freaking Uncommon, WTF) If they dont have removal like Path To Exile, Terminate, Doom Blade ouch. And if it sticks before a Lightning Bolt hits it then.......
I agree you gotta find something to cut out but this has potential to be really good.
I think Ensoul Artifact looks very promising, but it will need a bit of play testing. Whether it makes the cut (ha, punny) it will be fun to field test.
I don't like Spellskite in storm MU because it's only for sideboard bolts and echoing truth. Many storm SB contains Shatterstorm so i prefer to sideboard discard and gravehate.
I agree with this. I would never sideboard Spellskite in this match up. Spellskite affects only a little number of spells and there are cards that do much more in this match up. You also can't cut to many cards for sideboard stuff, because you still have to be able to race them.

Well why wouldn't you bring them in for a Steel Overseer (which you will not be racing with, way too slow) or Etched Champion?
I've had 4 Etched Champion in my main deck due to a lot of U/W/R variants and U/R Delver decks in my local meta. Lately, that seems to have ebbed, and I'm experiencing a lot of difficulty winning game 1 against G/W Hate Bears, 4/5C Gifts, Scapeshift, and Pod. Is it pretty much recommended to go 2 Etched Champion and 2 Master of Etherium? I think that will help me put in the extra damage to seal game 1, and then hope my sideboard will come through for the remaining game(s).
I don't post on here too often, but here's the list I've been running with the last two weeks at our weekly Modern events. It's been doing pretty well. I play against a lot of UWR Control, Merfolk, Twin, and Boggles for the most part.
Don't you guys find steel overseer underwhelming if you can't cast him on turn 1? If against a midrange deck he's ok, but against combo and other aggro decks especially if you're racing your opponent I find him slow since you can't use his ability until you're next untap step.
So I'm thinking of cutting the 3 overseers in my main deck, what do you guys think?
I've usually found him to be underwhelming as he never lives to go off; thus, I switched 2 of him out for 2 Spellskites. Spellskite has helped me win matches I wouldn't have otherwise; though, I have those 2 other Overseers in my SB for the mirror match. He is a necessary evil imo.

Yup, same thought here on the overseer. Although, instead of replacing the overseer with 2 spellskite, this is what I've been testing lately
Wouldn't relic of progenitus be more apt than the tormod's crypt?
It gives you options to exile a card or all cards from the opponent's graveyard, plus it gives you an extra card, which costs 2 mana though.
In terms of mana costs, I can definitely see your point patriag

I don't think it will make the cut in this deck but maybe some sort of Standard Artifact deck that Wizards clearly has in mind.
I would like to hear something on this as well.

Spellskite protects Ethersworn Canonist.
Spellskite isn't going to stop Storm, Ethersworn Canonist does that, Spellskite protects it. If they were in my SB, I would bring them in to protect my Ethersworn Canonists. Most people have Spellskite in their SB anyway.
