I'm tempted to say Leyline is a must in the sideboard, and I think the chart posted a few posts up needs to consider it, Burrenton Forge-Tender, Thalia, Brave The Elements, Wrath of God and several other cards it's missing.
I have updated my chart with these cards. I can maintain it if people find it helpful. If you find that a staple card is missing or my evaluation of the card is incorrect please let me know. I realize that its kind of bland or generic but at least its something to help keep the data organized.
It really depends on your meta but some of the best options, according to the chart, are Thalia, Nevermore, Runed Halo, Auriok Champion, and Wrath of God especially against a known-meta.
Against an unknown meta or where you are not looking for direct hosers but just versatile cards to provide moderate benefits against a huge variety of decks then Suppression Field, Sundering Growth, Ratchet Bomb, and Oblivion Ring are good choices.
Honestly if Ratchet Bomb didn't take so long to load up against Pod then I would run that over Sundering Growth. Ratchet Bomb actually is REALLY good against 8-Rack, Tokens, and even Merfolk since so many of their guys are of similar CMC or you can just trash their AEther Vials.

Remembering of course that sideboard options are not in a vacuum either- eg stony silence or suppression field make for a huge non bo with bomb, for example. Both may individually come in against a deck- affinity dislikes stony and bomb as a fair example- but together one can invalidate the other- which would be bad news if a etched champion is already plated up........
As an aside, I have thought of a another red splash sista idea- play red spells and the kor firewalker can act as an anger proof sista. You don't have to go the whole norin/parish route, although you could include one or two- having champion and pridemate seems like you make more big game winners that do not fly. I am going to look at it- main deck helices could be a nice out. Access to guttural response, boil out of the board and of course blood moon....

This is true. Personally I would rather board in 3 copies of a single card than 2 copies of two different cards. As I mentioned earlier you need to make 1 more slot which is whatever. More than anything though I find that 2 copies is not enough to ensure I pull what I want and more often than not one of the things I've brought in is subpar to the other item I actually want. My personal preference is to stock my board with versatile but powerful answers and just board in the one card I need. Granted you never really know what you are going to face so having catch alls like Ratchet Bomb, Suppression Field, or Sundering Growth make it much easier to choose what you need and avoid negative interactions between the options you do have (i.e.- Don't board in Suppression Field and Ratchet Bomb at the same time). I'd rather be dedicated to a specific game plan than just hoping I don't get the subpar of my two options.
On another note: There is an opportunity to potential take over the OP/Re-write the Primer since the actual OP has been inactive in the forum for so long. I would be willing to do it myself if there is a consensus that it is necessary and no one else wants the responsibility.

I feel like I just saw the OP post a few pages back, but if they're giving it up, I wouldn't mind taking it over, but would gladly defer to someone else. I don't think it needs that much updating though, just some polishing. There actually haven't been a ton of cards printed that merit inclusion in the deck, and the core has been the same for a long time.
In other news, I'm trying to add more cards to my chart. I added all the ones you said I had forgotting BoBo. I even added Mirran Crusader which is also quite good agaisnt Pod and Jund and is a real menace with even a single anthem on the field which presents 6 damage a turn, the same as Serra Ascendant. Is Witchbane Orb worth mentioning? Its functionally the same as Leyline of Sanctity minus the whole "start the game with it on the field" thing. What about that white enchantment that forces the opponent to pay mana to attack you? I can't remember what its called.
The more I think about it though the more I like the idea of a 1-of Figure of Destiny over 1 Ajani Pridemate. It doesn't happen often but occasionally you get the opponent to the brink just as they manage to stabilize and shut down your life gain engine and begin to whittle you down. At that point you top deck a Serra Ascendent but its just a 1/1 at that point. Ajani's Pridemate is in the same spot. Ranger can grab an Ascendant and a Martyr but without any cards in hand the Martyr isn't going to do much. You still need to at least 4 cards and 20 life to get back above the 30 mark to re-activate Ascendent. Figure of Destiny doesn't rely on your life total which makes it much more of a drain early game. Late game its much better though. The fact that we can tutor it also makes running it as a 1-of a feasible game plan.
Also, you mentioned you did not like Emeria BoBo? It seems like it would be nearly auto-win at some point. I know there was a time against an 8-rack deck where his Bitterblossom would have killed him as long as I managed to keep a Soul Sister presence on board. The game had stalled to a draw-go state because of Ensnaring Bridge. Emeria would have been game basically because I would be able to outlast Lili and Smallpox to keep presence on board without dumping my hand. Orzhov Charm helps get things back from the yard but I also need to use it as removal. Having a second option to get gas against stall decks seems good, especially as a one of the way you have it.

If Witchbane Orb was one or two cheaper, I'd say sure, but it's the same cost as Leyline, which makes it not as good as Leyline. The other card you're thinking of is Ghostly Prison, which is a maindeck in Martyr-Proc builds. I think it's worth considering, but I don't know what I'd bring it in against. Storm to fight off their Empty The Warrens? Tribal decks that we already have favorable games against?
I would be interested to see some testing results with Figure of Destiny or even Student of Warfare. We put ourselves in a lot of grindy games against some decks, and it could be a favorable card there. Figure has that evasion we desperately want Pridemate to have, but it's really expensive to get it there.
RE: Emeria, I don't know how often the B/W build gets to seven mana (especially seven plains,) but it's rare in the Mono-W build so I can't imagine it's any more likely in B/W. We (Mono-W at least) also need to side in Rest in Peace in a lot of matches, ruining it. The only game I've had it active was, funnily enough, 8-Rack, and I already had an empty graveyard from Mistveil Plains and a battlefield full of 1/1s just waiting for the answers to Ensnaring Bridge to alpha strike. I'm still testing it, but it's nowhere near as fantastic as I was hoping it would be, and a lot of the decks I want it in (Long games against U/W/x, Jund, etc.) run enough graveyard-based creatures to merit bringing in Rest in Peace.
Hey Guys! I am new to mtgsalvation.com. I have been running the following list with good success. Just wanted to get opinions/thoughts to make it better. Below the list:
I have had good success from the BB/ Soul Sisters synergy.
Thoughts?
I would be curious to see how Blood Baron, Rhox Faithmender, and Archangel of Thune work out. Most of the time when I reach that stage of the game my life gain engine has been dismantled by the enemy or I'm already going to win and would not need to use any of those creatures. Also, I feel like you really should consider adding 4 Martyr of Sands to the build somewhere. Turn 1 Ascendant into T2 Martyr is the best reason to run Ascendent. Without Martyr I'm not sure that I would still run Ascendant. Also, Bitterblossom + a Soul Sister do cancel each other out, which is handy, but consider this:
-2 Sisters w/o BB = 5 creatures over 5 turns to gain 10 life. Assuming you have enough creatures in hand to do that and don't lose a single life from the start of the game your Soul Ascendent is finally active on turn 5.
-2 Sisters w/ BB = 10 creatures over 10 turns to gain 10 life. Rhox Faithmender doesn't even hit until turn 4. Even then you are still 3 turns behind not having BB at all. Blood Baron requires that you have also manage to remove half of your opponent's life by turn 5. You probably aren't going to be able to do that very regularly with just BB tokens, your Sisters (which you can't afford to swing into blockers) and a 1/1 Serra Ascendant. Ajani's Pridemate only fairs a little better. Given this build I would probably remove Blood Baron and Serra Ascendant, and would consider removing the Rhox because it appears the deck really just wants those small pings which are not going to add up fast enough, often enough, to make those guys worth it. To that end I would probably even try and add Auriok Champion to the list because she's resiliant and gives you a 3rd Sister to make sure you get those pings that are going to make Archangel and Ajani HUGE. Sanguine Bond seems cute as a Sideboard card against lock down strategies but you really should add more Paths. The last 39 pages are of people complaining about how 4 removal spells aren't enough and you have half of that even. Heck I run 7 removal and feel like that is often the sweet spot and occasionally wish I had 1 more.
I also run a W/B version and have often considered Zealous Persecution. The people in the W/B Tokens thread are gaga about it against decks like Boggles, Affinity, and the mirror match. I'm curious to know what you think.
@BoBo
I actually kind of like the idea of Figure of Destiny in Mono-W. I just so happen to have a paper copy so I'll test it next time out. I'll need to find one online though.
Good point about Emeria. I got so geeked by the possibilities that I forgot it was all plains related.
I've decided to run 2 Ratchet Bombs in my sideboard. I feel like they are pretty versatile and good against Tokens, Bogles, and 8-Rack which are a few matches I'd like better answers for.
The following link is an invitation to join Pucatrade (card trading service though similar to TCGPLayer). If you follow the link then it awards me with tokens to exchange for actual cards. Thanks! https://pucatrade.com/invite/gift/86097
Hey Alpha and thank you for the quick response and input. I used to run Martyr but since I run 4 BB I wasn't able to consistency get that ''God hand" as Iike to call it so I just dropped her. This is also the reasoning behind the deck, sacrificing speedy lifegain for late game board control. I don't need too much removal because BB creates a free army of blockers for me while helping me with lifegain and pumping Ajani's. I run Blood Baron because of the mirror/ MBD deck, he has been my MVP many times.
You are right about Sanguine Bond, I will probably put it on the sideboard and do some testing with your suggestions (AC and Martyr again) and when I get home as I play on mtgo.
If you get a change you should really playtest Zealous Persecution, I am also really high on the card as it can clear the board against tokens and aura hexproof or surprise your opponent as your 1/1s destroy his 2/2s.
I also play 8-Rack and I can tell you that Leyline of Sanctity is our bane, it is so powerful against Jund/Burn/Mirror etc...that some of us put it on the sideboard even when we are running only mono black.
I'll do some testing and I will get back to you, thanks.
um....Sundering Growth is the standard instant speed artifact/enchantment hate. It has the biggest upside in that you can occasionally get a Spirit token out of it.
If you really want something else: Demystify, Erase, Quiet Purity, and Wear // Tear can all destroy/exile an enchantment for 1 mana. Theres also Ray of Revelation . It also costs 2 but if you are one of the players splashing green you can flash it back for 1.
i was play testing 3 color sister list and tried to play against time warp deck.
game 1 it was a blow out, i couldn't do anythign main deck to stop there comboing.
from the sideboard i brought in wear and tear, and thoughtseize, had to mulligan to find a hand with discard in it to begin with. still didn't get there, they landed enough card draw engines that they quickly recovered from the loss of the walk the aeons i made them discard. plus they had sided in unsummons and other creature bounce against me keeping me from building a board presence. once they got to 5 and 6 mana they time warped and comboed out.
for adjusting my sideboard to fight such a deck, i was thinking of using richocet trap like my living end deck uses, for 1 red i can steal those extra turns that time warp makes. other blue decks on the other hand though aren't really the same kind of problem i feel as a time warp deck is. so i was thinking maybe using imp's mischief might make more sense as a sideboard choice? losing 5 life to steal a time warp spell doesn't strike me as a problem since time warp deck doesn't use fast aggression. I'm just wondering if any of you might see it as being useful against other non-blue match ups?
my hope is its a sideboard choice that could deal with the nich time warp match up while being useful else where when no up against that nich deck.

Well, not necessarily just after a sweeper. The idea is that unlike the other "bombs" in the deck (Serra Ascendant, Ajani Pridemate) Figure of Destiny's power is not directly related to your life total/ability to gain life. If you somehow did not draw your Sisters or Martyr or the opponent killed them then the other two options are awful. On the other hand Figure of Destiny relies only on your mana.

As much as I like Figure, I will point out that using it assumes you can't win with an Honor of the Pure + SqHawks or Spectral Processions, which is actually how I win more of my games. I know the color splash decks don't have access to that as much, though.
I personally win most of my games with Honor of the Pure and having the ability to keep deploying threats through removal. If I have more creatures than my opponent has removal I'm probably winning that game.
The other most common way I win a game is gaining massive life + Serra Ascendant against aggro decks. Many aggro decks scoop to me sitting at 40 life and being able to deploy threats.

This is the same for me. There are games where I simply give up on my life total or life gain altogether and just weenie rush. Losing an HotP hurts though and I can't tell you the humber of games I've had the opponent at lethal only to have an HotP blown up which saves them for a round long enough to stabalize and begin to get back into the game. This happens with Meliria Pod mostly and is extremely frustrating.

While we're on the subject, has anyone been frustrated enough to cut Ajani's Pridemates from the deck? I just dropped down to three for an Oblivion Ring and I still see him enough to not feel like I'm missing out on that extra beatstick. There are enough matchups where I just don't want to see him and he's often something I side out more than anything else (I'll cut two of him before I cut one of other cards, I mean)

I don't know, at some point he is just a white Tarmo for us and I guess that's good enough. I would be more keen on him if I had Fling because he just gets chumped so often that he ends up being worthless until the opponent draws removal for him and then stabalizes because I couldn't capitalize on the threat. In standard I ran a 2 of Rogue's Passage to get around that problem. I'd willing to consider that here. That being said I would seriously consider changing from W/B to W/R for Lightning Helix and a few Fling in the board to finish off things like Death and Taxes, 8-Rack. Lightning Helix would grant reach I always wish I had. Plus it can help us get back into the life game late if we lose our sisters and stuff early.

glade i'm not the only one slightly dissatisfied with ajani's pridemate. he works in norin sisters, but all to often my opponents kill him on the spot. also what irritates me is he doesn't cost 1cc so i can't revive him on the fly with orzhov charm like i can champion of the parish.
i'd use Return to the Ranks but i prefer things fitting into orzhov charm since it is such a swiss army knife of utility.
if one is tired of growing the beaters and wants something that is a 2cc large body, then maybe Jotun Grunt could be an option.

for adjusting my sideboard to fight such a deck, i was thinking of using richocet trap like my living end deck uses, for 1 red i can steal those extra turns that time warp makes. other blue decks on the other hand though aren't really the same kind of problem i feel as a time warp deck is. so i was thinking maybe using imp's mischief might make more sense as a sideboard choice? losing 5 life to steal a time warp spell doesn't strike me as a problem since time warp deck doesn't use fast aggression. I'm just wondering if any of you might see it as being useful against other non-blue match ups?
my hope is its a sideboard choice that could deal with the nich time warp match up while being useful else where when no up against that nich deck.

if i'm following your guys conversation correctly figure of destiny is a 1 of for a post wrath situation?
so far for post wrath situations my only plan was norin and purphoros, or a single hero of bladehold.

Plus it can help us get back into the life game late if we lose our sisters and stuff early.

i'd use Return to the Ranks but i prefer things fitting into orzhov charm since it is such a swiss army knife of utility.
if one is tired of growing the beaters and wants something that is a 2cc large body, then maybe Jotun Grunt could be an option.
