On the subject of UR Delver, the most powerful cards they have against Soul Sisters are the Grim Lavamancers and Young Pyromancers. Do not be fooled by the life you get to gain off of Young Pyromancer, those tokens can block for days. You either need a flier or some Honor effects to deal with them. If they don't have some way to capitalize on the stall, you should be able to get a way around it after a few turns.
I'm honestly surprised to see 0 Anger of the Gods or similar effects in LSV's list. Electrolyze somewhat works but its not nearly as effective. When I last played against a UR Delver I got hit by an Ignite Disorder that card in particular was not something I expected. I still won, but it was a surprise especially because it was a card I had never seen before. Given the current meta I'm really shocked to not see a single mass wipe effect, even something like Engineered Explosives would fit (especially with the singleton Breeding Pool for Ancient Grudge Flashback).

Do you have a lot of aggro in your meta? We already have a good matchup vs aggro decks so unless you really have a lot in your meta, I wouldn't advocate it.
Yes it can also be played against Twin decks to prevent them from attacking for infinite. Suppression Field does the exact same thing and costs 1 less to play.

I went 2-1 last Monday with the deck. First and only opponent I lost to was playing a Possibility Storm deck. I'm thinking I need to get some Rule of Law in the board since storm and this deck has been showing up a lot. Second match was against Birthing Pod. Game one wasn't too bad. He had a fairly slow start and couldn't combo in time. Game two, I drew double Damping Matrix so needless to say it was easy. Third match was against Faeries and the soul sisters are VERY good against Bitterblossom. Plus, I somehow kept getting the Martyr + Ascendant combo out each time.
I have a lot of control and aggro in my meta; however, storm is really becoming more common, as well as other non-interactive combo decks as of late.
Most of the modern players I go up against are hardcore tier 1 spikes. Only a small minority actually play tier 1.5/2 decks at my LGS. My LGS's meta is a double edge sword, because it is a great place to become a better player, but if you just want casual play, then expect to get your ass handed to you on the consistent basis.
I think this new card of JOU its amazing for this deck!
for 1W, its a 0/5 blocker that guaranteed you gain 1 life per turn!
You dont need to cast creatures every turn for gain 1 life of Soul Sisters and get +1/+1 on Ajani, also you will gain life every turn by free and most important, dont die by bolts and its a great blocker 0/5 and it can attackt whit +1/+1 counters ...
I Think this deserve 4x in this Deck ...
I think ...
Turn 1: Plain + Soul Sister
Turn 2: Plain + nyx fleece ram (gain 1 life, 21 lifes total)
Turn 3: Plain + Ajani + You gain 1 life from Soul Sister and 1 life extra, +1/+1 on Ajani 3/3 (23 lifes total)
Turn 4: Plain + 1 Creature, you gain 1 life from Nyx, Ajani get +1/+1, You gain 1 life from Soul Sister, Ajani get +1/+1, hit 5/5 Ajani (25 lifes total)
...
Ajanis become a MONSTER if you gain 2 life per turn ... and in less turns you get 30 lifes for Serras ...
I will get 4x of this playing Standard and i will continue building this deck (i got 4x ajanis recently, need rest)

I belive this impulse a lot the lifegain and can make much faster the deck if you gain 1 plus life every turn and get and excellent blocker by free, Ajani get X2 +1/+1 Counters every turn, he hits 5/5 in turn 4, and hits 7/7 in turn 5, hits 9/9 on turn 6 ... its a monster and cast Blood Baron or Serras as finishers

The Ram really isn't even close to being a good sideboard card for this deck. Soul Sisters needs to be proactive or it's doing nothing except gaining a little life. The only synergy this Ram has is giving Ajani's Pridemate a +1/+1 counter every turn, which is terrible. I guess it could be a wall against Zoo, but why do we need a wall when we're gaining a bunch of life already.

1 life per turn is not a lot. With soul sisters you will gain more life than that each turn already. That 1 life extra every turn won't make the deck stronger sorry ;). Most of the time you'll have two sisters on the board. Casting one creature gains you two life and triggers ajani twice. Then there's Spectral Procession which will gain you six life with two sisters on the board.
Besides, I never saw Ajani as a finisher. More like a gigantic wall that's more or less impossible to pass, giving us more time to gain life safely and win by flying critters+honor. I can't remember a single game where I actually finished with a huge ajani.

This. Soul sisters was largely built to hose creature-based aggro decks back before nacatl was banned and zoo was dominating the meta. SS was then and is now best positioned against that kind of deck game 1 because even a mediocre hand is going to gain a bunch of life and it's a lot easier to count down from 20 than 50. Ram is terrible at counting down from 20. 1 life a turn is nothing compared to sisters, martyr, and 6/6 lifelinking fliers, and the last thing we need is a durdly wall.
Athreos is interesting and we should definitely test him with this deck, but from a theoretical standpoint he doesn't fit with the strategy of the deck or its synergies. The first thing to note is that he's rarely going to be turned on (maybe with the exception of decks that maindeck 4 Auriok Champion but even then it's tough), so the only thing he does is his ability. "Whenever another creature you own dies, return it to your hand unless target opponent pays 3 life." Is this even good in this deck? It does nothing with Spectral Procession. It does nothing with Martyr because your hand is probably empty or close to it by the time you have this on the field and have activated the Martyr. Warden and Ascendant aren't really that exciting to recur. Pridemate would lose is counters when coming back, and Ascendant is only good to recur when you're over 30 life. So no card in the deck on its own is really great with its ability.
I think over time though, it's appealing recurring multiples of these in grindy match-ups. It's basically the same theory as having Immortal Servitude in your sideboard, except it's better because it's all creatures and worse because they're not all at once. The problem with going to route of splashing black for this and playing Lingering Souls (probably in addition to the some number of Spectral Processions you keep in the deck) is that Souls does nothing with this. I think this card probably does way too little to even play, much less warrant the splash. But the percentage of grindy, long games I have with this deck is really high so it's definitely appealing in that regard as it improves those games a lot.

You definitely still need to have knowledge of what competitive decks exist in the format. The sideboard is very important in a lot of matchups.
Serra Ascendant is a great card and I don't think it's too far fetched to say that about 75% of games that Soul Sisters wins have it's pilots life total over 30.
I don't think there really weak cards in the deck because it has a lot of synergy only weak matchups. This deck can be devastating if you get a good opening hand but it can definitely grind out wins if it needs to.
The only decks you can play without knowledge of the meta are streamlined combo decks like Storm, every other deck you must have some idea of what decks you may come across.
2/3 games in a match are played postboard, you have to know what to sideboard with and as a white deck we have access to the best sideboard cards in the game.
As for the weakest care in the deck, it would be Ajani's Pridemate, essentially Pridemate fills the same role as Tarmogoyf. There are 2 major differences between the two:
1: Pridemate can get bigger than Goyf
2: Pridemate dies to burn much, much easier than Goyf.
Like Goyf, all Pridemate is is a cheap beater. It has no evasion and can be easily chump blocked, but it is a cost efficient beater and most games will be a 3/3 or 4/4 for 2 mana.
Ascendant is good even without martyr because it can get you closer to 30+ life but also because it can grow your Pridemate. If I have the choice between playing a Sister or an Ascendant on turn 1, I'm more likely going to play Serra. She'll almost always gain me the same amount of life as a Sister would between turns 1 & 2 and is much more likely to pull removal out of my opponent's hand. Also there's always the chance of topdecking into martyr and making Ascendant into a 6/6.
She also gains you life through Torpor Orb and in grindy games will often already be a 6/6 for 1.

I have been reading the thread for a while, and finally decided to build the deck. I built it about 1 month ago, and have been adquiring the sb cards depending on what I have found my meta.
My meta is 80% U/R variants, which means lots of:
- Twin
- Delver
- Blood Moon
- In a lesser extent, UWR control
Then there are some combo decks such as Goryo's vengeance, Scapeshift, Tron, Living End and Assault Loam. Together they would make a 10-15%
Finally there are a couple of aggro decks like Merfolk and Boggles. Around 10-5%
There is also some guys running mono red Burn, but they don't show up frequently.
I find G1 possitive against most of the U/R control decks, but then g2 becomes difficult. I played recently against twin and altohugh I won game 1 easily, G2 I die horribly to Batterskull and get slaughtered by Anger of the Gods, specially when flashbacked with Snapcaster Mage
I would appreciate some feedback / advice on sideboard / mainboard options for improving the deck. I love the deck and want to make it better.
I like how you changed the ghost-quarters / tec-edges for Cavern of Souls because of your meta. Same goes for the main deck Auriok. Though did you test with Auriok in the SB and 2 extra sisters? Worth a try probably.
The sideboard however seems a bit strange to me. Burrenton Forgetender looks underwhelming. Against burn it's not really needed. Soul Sister vs Burn is pretty much an auto-win for us :). I'd put 1 more RiP and one more Stony Silence (if your meta has 0% POD and Affinity and almost no TRON, you could try one more suppression field in stead. The Elspeth seems a bit random too. I'm not that fond of one-offs in decks/sideboards when there's no draw/tutor engine unless it's a fourth or fith 'version' of another card.
Other than that it looks solid. Control and Combo are our worst matchups, so don't expect to get too good results against those decks. Versus Twin I never put too many creatures in play in games two and three because of Anger of the Gods. Keep that Ranger in your hand if you already have three or four creatures on the board. After a whipe he fills up your hand and you can keep the flow going. If you know you play against snapcasters, I'd board in 2-3 RiPs. It seems narrow, but shutting down snapcaster actually works really well.
Hope it helpes, and curious on what your results will be
I will give a try with 2 more sister and siding the aurioks, since in many games I just wish I had more sisters on booard.
I put the Forge-tenders in the side because I thought they could help against Anger of the gods, am I wrong?
I have tried to follow the strategy you suggested but then goes to hell when they drop a Baterskull. When they resolve it I need more creatures to keep up with the damage / life gain and then anger wipes the board.
I will surley follow your advice of siding 1 more RIP since again, snapcaster CAN and DOES flashback Anger of the Gods, which is never convenient.
I sided Elspeth Knight-errant for games vs control that go long. I have read in this thread that she can be useful and provide more resilence to boardwipes and also providing some extra lifegain / chump blockers. I just added her recently and want to try her out.
Honestly, I would use Brave the Elements over Burrenton Forge-Tender. Brave is harder to play around, it can be countered much easier than Forge-Tender but if it isn't expected, they won't have countermagic up. Yes, its not a creature so it won't trigger the sisters or be able to swing in for damage, but it also lets you go ahead and alpha strike on a clustered board.
While I personally am not a big fan of the card, it is very effective and many Soul Sisters players have it in their sideboard.
