Good work drmarkkb.
With your new list the win average against control and combo decks has improved? I believe that's the way for our decks. Archangel of Thune for me has a fixed place in the main deck, with she the deck became strong on the late game and is a excellent top deck.
About Thalia I will try one or two in the main. What will you remove to put the Thalia?
BTE has to go for my money- plays poorly with Thalia, and because I use grunt/archangel and pro red sistas I am less worried about sweepers.
I have gone to 2 grunt, 2 thalia main......

So far my biggest trouble has been UWx control. I have just had no luck with matches against them and when I look into my sideboard I see no answers aside from grave hate. Any suggestions?
I think Thalia is the best sideboard option for us. Thalia is good against UW, Storm, Jeskai Combo, Burn, Urzatron.
My sideboard will become this (when my cards arrive):
3x Thalia, Guardian of Thraben (seriously thinking put one or two in the main)
2x Rest in Peace
1x Grafdigger's Cage
4x Stony Silence
2x Ethersworn Canonist
1x Eidolon of Rhetoric
1x Brave the Elements (I have two in the main)
1x Aura of Silence or Pithing Needle (currently using Pithing Needle)
UWx Control is my nightmare too. Long time no match against it, but my deck is changing constantly to improve this match. The cards I'm using in the main are: 3x Auriok Champion, 2x Brave the Elements. Side in: 3x Thalia, 2x Ethersworn Canonist, 1x Eidolon of Rhetoric and 1x Brave the Elements. Side Out: 2x Archangel of Thune, 2x Plains, 3x Path to Exile (if it is UWr Heavy Control)
I think 4 stony is a bit ott unless you see a lot of tron and sffinity...... even then using an Aura as well covers more bases- boggles and ascendancy for one......
I think a 3:2 stony/aura split is fine.
Needle seems ok, it is a great Legacy card, not as certain about it in this- you have stony anyway. As a reactive anti PW card it is ok to good, but we don't beat PWs with it any more than O rings, which have always been poor in this type of deck vs control. I think cage is a stronger effect and covers more bases.

Aura of Silence isn't too slow for actual modern (Jeskai Ascendancy)?
On the play, I think it's just quick enough to get on the board before you're done. I hate spending turn 3 on just one thing (Which is why I'm so annoyed that I'm maindecking O-Ring right now and have a love/hate with Spectral Procession) so I don't know if I'd play it, but I don't think I'd say it's TOO slow. Just kind of slow.
I really like what you're doing there. My only comment is that I've never been a big fan of Chalice of Life/Death, so I would experiment with cutting that for the Sundering Growth. I don't see many decks that you face locking you out of a damage-based plan. Others may disagree with me, though.
Today i get 4-1 on a tournament, get 3th place and prize whit this deck
First time i played and enjoyed a lot, i think was a surprise for ALL on the tournament and my self, i dont believe on the potential of this deck
I dont have the deck complete, instead of 3x ranger i run 1x ranger + 2x Brimaz but works fine
1st vs MonoU Tron 2-0
Easy match, lifes going up and his life going down, only Platinum Angel was a problem but rest OK
2nd match vs Blue Moon 0-2
I cant do a thing, removal, counter, boardwipe, blood moon for Emeria, the sky ruin ... very bad matchup
3er match vs Splinter Twin 2-1
Easy match, he cant comb due to Soul Warden on board, when he try to bolt my Soul Sister y protect her whit Brave the elements, nice match, Auriok Champion its perfect here i need it
5th match vs R/W Burn 2-0
Auto-Win, i literally CANT loose the game, he CANT win, was very unfair

Go forth! I say go forth white mages!!! Feast upon the Burn/aggro meta laid out before you! Feast I say!
I'm all seriousness however, this deck is exceptional well positioned in this meta. Burn decks are dropping B for U in droves to use the new brokenness that is Treasure Cruise. With this they lose rain of gore out of their board and sisters run them over even harder
I haven't seen much in the way of Khans updates locally either. I missed a few weeks at the local card shop and they basically shunned the people who were playing Jeskai Ascendancy. I've just seen more people playing UWR decks, which has forced me to resort to maindecking Brave The Elements in my flex slot with mostly positive results (I'm playing it much more as a counter than as a way to force through damage.)
Can't wait until more people switch to U/R Delver and Swiftspear burn builds. I feel like we rock in those matchups.
Hi, I completed my list some months ago and I have not been paying attention to the changes in the deck for a while. I´ve seen some lists running G splash adding canopy, township and other cards.
I really want to add Archangel of Thune since I have seen that creatures get out of hand when it hits the battlefield and there is at least 1 sister on the field. The thing is I don't know what I would have to cut and how many copies I should run...

What would you cut to make room for archangels? Should I add more if I plan to play it?
Thanks!
I was testing Brimaz, King of Oreskos for a few weeks and honestly i would say he's not worth a spot in the deck he would be your best bet to remove for archangels.
On a side note Friend borrowed my Soul Sisters deck with a more classic build and no auriok champion or angel taking 3rd at a local event for a case against some U/R delvers, Burn, Junk tokens, Blue Mind Control wall deck, infect, kithkins, U/B Fairies, and burn from what he messaged me. I'll get the changes to my list in a few days when i see him at the LGS either tomorrow or next friday.

So what do you guys think of running any number of Ghost quarters and/or Tectonic edges in a standard SS deck? It does make it harder to cast Spectral Procession for example.
So what do you guys think of running any number of Ghost quarters and/or Tectonic edges in a standard SS deck? It does make it harder to cast Spectral Procession for example.
Harder to cast Auriok Champions as well, which is a vital card. Even still, I run 4 Ghost Quarter in the main and wouldn't go otherwise. It's just that important against Tron, Affinity, and manlands that are be bigger than our creatures more often than not. Pairing Ghost Quarter with Flagstones of Tarkir can color fix in a pinch, which is another reason I run GQ over Tec Edge. I could give more details about the differences between the two, but I do think one is necessary.
Finally got around to watching it - he's right on the mark with everything except for when he says the UWR Midrange match up is "amazing." It's much better now that Auriok Champion is kind of a must in the maindeck, but I still think the matchup is in their favor and not ours.
What about of run 2x Ranger of Eos + 1x Brimaz/Arcangel of Thune instead of 3x Ranger?
Rest of the decklist the same ... Brimaz or Arcangel or Ranger?

Ranger of Eos is generally always at least a 3 of.
I go 3 Rangers and 3 Archangels, however, I can see merit in Brimaz, although I prefer the Hero of Bladehold, a singleton in the 'board.
Waste of a sideboard slot, really, although a fine card in itself I would never argue against per se.
You need interactive sideboard cards that swing games, not threat for threat swapsthat marginally improve matches . To use a sporting analagy, you need to be able to change the bowling, not simply change the bowler for one delivering more of the same.
I too prefer hero over Brimaz, FWIW, but the nature of our threats is pretty unimportant provided we stick to a martyr/ascendant plan A and a resilient attrition based plan B.
When Pod, boggles, Grisselbrand re animator, Infect, or whatever just "go off", you need cards that interact to stop them- Thalia, Rest in peace, Grunts, stony Silence, Spellskites, Aura of Silence, even Trinisphere (although that is bad for us in most versions) etc. The point is we beat a lot of aggro/midrange strategies. the decks we lose to don't require us to play better threats in game two, they require us to stop them in some way- or go off earlier ourselves, which is impossible given our lack of manipulation.....

I feel 22 lands its ALOT for this deck, i usually flooded whit extra lands, whit 2-3 lands you run 90% of the deck, 4 lands and play ranger 100%, maeby 19-20 lands can be the number
