If one were to use Conflagrate how would you get it in the yard to be able to flash it back? All the lists I see are kind butt when it comes to getting it in the yard.

Im having a big tournament this weekend. Now I am struggling with the "mass removal" sb slot. I think we have three possible cards:
a)Pyroclasm
b)Anger of the Gods
c)Drown in Sorrow
Which would you choose and why? Please consider that I am running one blood crypt main to cast Ancient Grudge against affinity also (I run 2 Marsh flats, 2 scalding tarn and 4 gemstone mines for red sources).
a) I find pyroclasm effective against quick affinty plays and hatebears. But they can always sb in Welding Jar and Burrenton forge tender.
b) I like the idea of running anger of the gods so I can play it against melira and/or kiki pod also. But it is slower and also suffers from burrenton/jar. Also I find that is quite difficult to reach double red mana and not lost a valuable counter from pentad prism or a SSG from hand...
c)The card I am going to try right now. I like the idea of letting me one scry and to be casted with black mana but I fear that it could be so slow in the fastest matches and/or not being enough against others like Pod.
Modern is so variable...
My other sb slots are
1 Slaughter Pact
1 Silence
2 Duress
2 Ancient Grudge
4 Leyline of Sanctity
1 Echoing truth
1 Patricians Scorn
1 Boseiju

I'd adjust the manabase to make Anger of the Gods work. It is just that good.
Hi, today I played a big modern tournament and finished 15th of 78, with a 5-2 record. It was a GPT so the rules where competitive and most of the players played tier 1/1.5 decks. While 5-2 is not bad, it was kind of disappoiting taking into account that I lost my first two rounds.
I play the "standard list" with 21 lands (4 temples, 4 fetch, 1 boseiju, 1 blood crypt, etc) and 2 wincon (conflagrate+lightning storm, instead of conjurers bauble). 10 Dig spells (4 serum, 3 sleight, 2 peer, 1teachings) and 3 pact of negation/1 slaughter pact main.
My sb is:
1 Slaughter Pact
1 Silence
2 Duress
2 Ancient Grudge
4 Leyline of Sanctity
1 Echoing truth
1 Patricians Scorn
1 Boseiju
2 Anger of the gods
A short report of the matches:
1)AFFINITY
I started suspending lotus bloom with some cantrips and an angels grace. He played all his hand and casted thoughtcast. Turn 2nd he played cranial plating and hit me for a lot. On third turn he left me at 4 so end of the turn I tapped myself to cast peer through depths searching for Ad nauseam, he in response casted that R instant that makes 4 damage if he has metalcraft. I lost with 2 Angels grace and a SCG in hand (I should have payed with a monkey and left white mana open). Also I didnt notice his untapped mox opal. My bad!
SB: +2 Ancient Grudge,+1 Echoing truth, +1 Slaughter Pact, +1 anger of the gods
-1 peer -1 teachings -2 pact of negation -1 boseiju
Second game I never ensambled the combo and he killed me in his 4th turn.
NOTE: I think I have to play 3 Hurkyll Recall SB (removing 2 grudges and 1 duress)
0-1
2)BWr TOKENS
Like all the black decks with discard spells, a bad matchup. First game I keep a hand with 3 lands, 2 ad nauseam, 1 lightning storm and 1 monkey. I drew lands and an another ad nauseam while I got my two other cards discarded by IoK. He never put pressure on me, I casted an ad nauseam in order to search for an angels grace on the end of his 5th turn and won on my turn.
SB: 4 leylines, 1 duress, 1 echoing truth
3 pact of negation, 1 teachings, 1 boseiu, 1 sleight
On this game he fetched for a blood crypt on 4th turn and cast slaughter games. Next game I put out a peer and sb another more duress.
Third game I never drew ad nauseam. I had mana, 2 angels grace...
0-2
3)UWr Control
There isnt a lot to say about this entire match. I won easily by boseiju+pact of negation.
4) RUG Tarmo-Twin
It was almost the same "win recipee" but with less counters.
SB: 1 Silence, 1 Slaughter pact, 1 Boseiju, 1 Echoing truth
-1 teachings, -1 peer, -1 sleight, -1 temple UW
2-2
5)UWr control again.
Same sb plan and same history. The only exception is that on second game a topdecked patrician's scorn gave me the match by killing his Stony silence
3-2
6)KIKI-POD
First Match I only played lands by the first turns (I had a simian spirit guide, teachings and 2 angels grace in hand). He had a typical start with mana dorks and a pod. He could not realize what was I playing until too late. On turn he did the Kiki-angel combo and I responded by casting angels grace to go to 1 and teachings for ad nauseam at the end of his turn. I won.
SB:+2 Anger of the gods, +1 slaughter pact, +1 echoing truth
-2 Pact of negation, -1 teachings, -1 peer, -1 sleight (I did not take out the boseiju because of glen elendra)
Game two was won thanks to a turn three unexpected anger of the gods (unexpected for him). I killed his 3 mana dorks and left him with 2 lands, pod and 3 cards in hand. While I delayed a lot on drawing an ad nauseam I won anyways.
4-2
7)UWr Control for the last time
First match he mulled to 3. a Bye.
Second match I made a missplay. I risked myself and lost to that.
Third match was a TOTAL STEAL. I was almost defeated, I had in play 5 lands+1 Boseiju in play +2 Lotus Bloom +1 pentad prism with counters. He had 8 lands (one was a collonade), a snapcaster and a stony silence. I had 3 SCG, 1 Unlife, 1 Ad nauseam and 1 Silence in hand, He had 6/7 cards in his hand. I had no chance of playing the unlife without getting it countered.
On my turn I played serum visions searching for angels grace, but I chose left a "Patricians scorn" on top. I was at 8 lives. His turn he attacked with snapcaster and put me at 6. On my upkeep he plays cryptic command with targets boseiju (bounce) and draw, I cast silence in response. He gets surprised and tries to mana leak the silence, I tap my three lands and pay the leak. Silence resolves, boseiju goes to hand and I go to drawstep with only one land untapped. I draw the patricians scorn and cast it for free, destroy his stony silence and cast the combo. He couldn't believe it.
5-2 Final score
Notes: -3 Hurkyll recall is the only way I see to stop affinty.
- Anger of the gods gave me a match.
- Patrician's scorn gave me two matches.
- I should get 1 leyline or 1 duress out, I find that I only sided the 2 of them against possible slaughter games (Living end, RG tron and maybe jund plays them)(when I also sb in leyline)

I've been messing around and considering to build this deck in paper after a lot of fun games on cockatrice. As a budget option, do you think using City of Brass over fetches would be an okay option?
This may be a poor question but is this still viable for a competitive modern environment? I understand it just top 16'ed a pro tour but that is the only tournament i've seen it pop up in.

Would Dark Confidant still be good if he punched you in the face for 5 damage a turn?
I would definitely say this deck is viable, I lent it to a friend with a half hour intro on how to play it and he managed to top 8 a GPT at our local store going 3-1-1, and I am fairly consistently able to take it 4-0 or at least 3-1 at my lgs for the weekly modern tournaments. If your local meta has a lot of discard decks I might advise against it, but with the overall meta making a shift towards blue, the deck is still strong.
How often does this deck actually get Lotus Bloom t1-2? I have played around with this deck a tiny bit a few months ago but never ended up getting into it. The deck looks pretty sweet though. On paper Lotus Bloom just seems so inconsistent. If you don't land it very early doesn't it essentially become useless? Is the mana power it can sometimes generate worth it's inclusion? Are there any lists that don't use the Blooms?

Not just the Tendo King, the power of the Galactic Leyline surpasses that of the Tempa Emperor, No!, It's magnificent power is even greater than that!

I think I've read one source that says that the chance of getting at least one card of a playset of 4 in a 7-land opening hand is around 40% (for a 60-card deck). Shave some off that percentage for mulligans, then add a bit for cantripping into a Bloom on Turn 1.
I don't think there's been any Ad Nauseam lists without Lotus Bloom. Against aggro, you need the speed boost that Bloom can provide.
If you don't have Bloom, you'd better have some other way of hitting 6 mana (for AN + Grace) on turn 4. The way things are right now, Lotus Bloom and Pentad Prism are the best ways of getting there, no matter how bad they might look.
BTW rituals or mana rocks won't cut it; they only give you +1 mana so you need two of them to hit the 6 mana threshold on turn 4, compared to just one Bloom/Prism.
Lotus Bloom happens to me pretty often, but remember you can combo turn 3 without drawing a Bloom (or while it is Still on suspend). Hitting a land drop every turn, a turn 2 Pentad Prism, and having Simian Spirit Guide gives you 6 mana by turn 3. It isnt too frequent, but still pretty sweet the deck can flow like that naturally.
BTW Im playing this at G.P. Minneapolis this weekend. I have No byes so Im hoping yo have some luck at the friday night grinders, because 9 rounds is back breaking. Feeling ppretty good about my list after testing it for 2 months. I think the only matchup i found irritating was Scapeshift; my other Blue Match-ups felt pretty good. always have Silence for that Counterflux! Otherwise Pact usually is good enough to surprise them. All other matchupslike Pod feel pretty good. I wish I had tested against Affinity more, but im packing 3 Hurkyls Recall. Not sure if I Want to try Drown In Sorrow in that matchup.
