I don't see really how this deck does well at all. All of the tempered steel decks around here run you over by turn 4, same with zoo. Werewolves? Another turn 4 kill. Control, would not tap out period unless they have no idea how to play their own deck. Control decks don't race, they don't tap out for any reason unless its at your endstep. I'd imagine any modern twin deck would be an awful matchup as well. At least me and my buddy have been running our twin decks, and its turn 5 combo consistently, for me, every game, for him, he likes to sit back and counter/remove everything on your side of the field. Land destruction decks, would wreck yours as well. Turn 3 destroy your lands, turn 5 destroying 3+ of your lands and other things. Artifact control decks/ modern ooze decks, turn 3-4 is when they go off and that's game.

huh?
It's reanimator.
...
It honestly sounds like you didn't even look at the lists in the thread beyond the first post (and even then!)
Also, wolves? ooze? are you sure you are in the right section? This is modern.
Avez: rite of consumption seems kinda unnecessary in this deck. Looks like win more to me.
I support this idea. Him and Emrakul swing for 20.
civilized schollar is similar to how the old reviellark reanimators in type 2 used Bonded Fetch for there card draw. only in this case you have the benefit of an extra 5/1 attacker.

I've been doing some work with a similar list to ones presented here, but I've been running a 2-of Trickbind in the main deck; it lets you shut down the Goryo's Vengeance trigger, and can also shut out opponents running vial or trying to shoot down your Oona's Prowler with a Grim Lavamancer if the game goes long. It might belong in the sideboard, but so far I've never been disappointed to see it. Also, I'm starting to do some testing with a couple of Snapcaster Mages for the control matchup. They let you move into the late game and still be a viable threat. I'll post a list once I've got a bit more testing done.
I figure the reanimation spells might be too slow compared to legacy where he is prevalent. however just because he can't be played turn 1 in this format doesn't mean I can entirely rule him out completely. burning a zombify, Goryo's Vengeance or makeshift mannequin to draw 7 cards might be worth it.

Why no Gifts Ungiven? Seems like if Modern reanimator would be all over that instead of praying to hit targets with self mill. You can just grab them yourself support more of a toolbox version.
because most playable fliers in modern are blue, so islandwalk is slightly more relevant than swampwalk. then again, -X/-1 probably would kill those fliers anyways.... eh, i guess they could have that faerie lord or something. so there.
with faithless looting now available, is staying blue black over red black still the right choice?

I am trying to make a re animator deck for a local tournament. I have a lot of the cards listed and I was look through this thread for ideas. This is what I got.
Muddle is really an all star if youre every missing a piece or need a utility card it can fetch but the amount of draw should give you all the pieces you need. I am tempted to drop the Forbidden Alchemy's I agree that it can be slow and clunky although I have not found a suitable replacement.
The deck does well against aggro, Jund can be a real problem with the amount of hand hate it main decks
Against control I have more inevitability and i can push through a few counters in a turn or i can get a vengeance off before they are set up.
Bolas is absolutely brutal early game. Kokusho has always been solid. Griselbrand is great in a bind or after shelling out your hand to set up the lifelink can save the day in aggro matches and the draw crushes control with sheer card advantage.
The ability to hardcast beaters is also important i believe for the deck to win matches that go to topdecking.
The main vulnerability of the deck is having the beaters sit in the grave, The amount of grave hate in modern is pretty high right now.
Hide//Seek is the only way i have figured out to deal with artifacts and enchantments in these colors

Zombie is great, everyone is insisting oona's is great, but she is consistently 1 mana too expensive to go off.
piracy charm is awesome for early removal, and ravens crime is a house unless they are packing hate.
I like the idea of Muddle the mixture
Thank you mchief111, great sig
