Overall I think Iona would be really great as well. I might be able to find a spot to fit her and Brand in so I have choices. And I think the rites would be an alt win, I dont know if I should really make this a 5 color with red and white being splashed, If anything it would be one or two plains if that.
If you're going to run darkblast, you're going to want at least 2 or 3. reasoning? yes, it can be dredged up, but boros will whip your tail early, not late. you need it right away.
torpor orb is another card you need see early and it's one you can't get back. it's a 3 of, too. same for thorn of amethyst.
current sideboard then:
4 ancient grudge
3 torpor orb
3 thorn of amethyst
2 or 3 darkblast
if you go 2, that leaves 3 spots open for another form of hate. if you go three, then the last two spots could be further spots from the main that might warrant more spots in some matches. It's your call, of course.
Tomathan makes a good point about the white mana. You'll want two sources of that and probably two sources of red (minimum) for just the few cards you'll be running in those colors. As far as the fatties go, well...that's just dependent upon playstyle and testing and your meta.
Ah! I was thinking of 1-2 but 3-4 could be utilized as well Im guessing. I would run more Unburial rites in combination and make it more or a win con then the bridge if so?
I'd run at least one, if not two shocklands..something that just about any of your fetches could get and then one plains. If someone drops a blood moon on you, what do you care? red mana you'll have in plenty. Otherwise, if you're worried about ghost quarter/path to exile, then run one mountain as well. No more than one of each, though.
I would just run one fatty (big guy) and one unburial rites. It's a supplemental plan to your main one.
Overall im ok with this deck becoming UBRG, kinda makes it fun
Mine is exactly that. I think you are missing out by not at least trying Magus of the Bazaar- it just fills the grave like no one's business.
I wonder if you are trying too much with your deck. DredgeVine is not really meant to be a reanimator deck in the classic sense, and slots that the cards take up seems to really diminish the consistency of your other strategies. If you just do the one/one idea that weltkrieg suggested then it is not too bad, but any more than that and you are really messing with your deck.
I also wonder if Bridge from Below is really right in a more general version of Dredge.
Im keeping it as a one of for both the reanimation and the fatty btw.
So ill play with the idea of the mana being another shock and a single plains for the time.
Overall I don't think its doing too much, it could be using vengevines, bridge, and bloodghast but I don't think that would happen.
Overall the bridges are there to set up a little bit of a defense (unless you think i should take those out and go with the magus) Or i could remove the rites and fatty for them and add a bit of consistency to it.
(ill reply hen i get up later today but keep discussing things guys and thans all )
This is just a deck on paper, no testing or sleeving up has been done yet.
I kind of wanted to fit Narcomeba and Bridge from Below in but couldn't find the room/Bridge doesn't have a way to turn on besides running your guys into your opponents guys and possibly loosing the bridges.
While playtesting it on tapped out, that is really all that i could get from the bridges, I'm thinking of removing them and adding two more ghoulcrawlers, or even two darkblasts. (Either or Dx not sure yet.)
Is Haakon really all that great for you? I could see running him in some kind of tribal Knights style dredge deck, but he seems underwhelming to me. Then again I have not played him for years, since I own none on MTGO.
It helps you with the vengevines, being able to cast it from the yard and playing a creature/gravecrawler from yard to get ur vines back seems atleast worth testing
So far I've been able to get a few grave crawlers in the yard (with a few vines) and then have him out and bam, suddenly 3 vengevines, a 3/3, and 2-4 gravcrawlers. Hes actually doing really good.
Wouldn't Reassembling Skeleton be easier? It has no body to speak of, but if what you want to do is get Vengevines on the field then it faster, and can be played from hand if you happen to draw it and have no discard handy.
There is a big thing you may be overlooking, DrW, and that is vengevine's actual ability. It says "if it was the second creature spell cast this turn". That means the skeleton doesn't work with it when you bring it on to the battlefield from the grave. However, Haakon and gravecrawler do.
Not to mention that Haakon works with gravecrawler, as previously stated.
As a side note, bloodghast also doesn't help vengevine... but that isn't to say they are bad in this deck. They still work with the graveyard aggressive strategy.
But so far I havent really found a place for blooghast in the least and honestly I havent really had the need for him. During playtesting I got a turn 3 win. It probably will never happen again but hey, what the heck.

Id probably run
4 Grudge
3 Orb
3 thorn
3 Darkblast
and 2 chalices or tormod's crypt just because they can stop alot of things.
so I need to fit in 2 plains and two mountains or one of each and the boros shock land? Would that work?
And thank you guys!!! You guys are helping me a lot more than the people I normally ask and brainstorm with
