Im running 9 fetches w no ghost quarter or flagstones, not exactly a dedicated lanfall deck, thats mainly why he is never as good as it should. I put thalia in his place. But in my build he was the weakest creature by far.
Thats what Im currently running and I must say that Ash zealot is definately better than hellspark, the ability to swing thru kitchen finks has been great. The side is still pending, but rest in peace has been 10/10 when boarded in. Even against Jund the ability to make their goyfs 0/1 and finks not come back reduces a lot of their firepower.
1 Ranger of Eos
3 Hell's Thunder
4 Lightning Helix
4 Ash Zealot
2 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben
2 Keldon Marauders
4 Path to Exile
4 Vexing Devil
4 Lightning Bolt
3 Grim Lavamancer
4 Goblin Guide
2 Figure of Destiny

God I need to re-evaluate Rest in Peace, you are totally right though, it's a much better card against Jund especially.
Ghitu Encampment seems really cool as well, my one suggestion however would be to run Student of Warfare over the Figure of Destiny's, it's just a better card 90% of the time.

Nice list
Figure is my late game card that it's sole mission, 4/4 double strike is very strong, but in the late game sometimes is not even enough to push thru, they just gonna throw everybody to block him to get rid of him or just chump block. Now 8/8 first strike flyer can only be block so many times.
Problem also is that most Boros deck they are red heavy so leveling up w/ white mana only can be a pain. Boros got better thanks to the zealot hopufully gatecrash brings some boros specific creatures and a sweet boros charm.

You have a point, especially considering how aggressive the rest of your deck already is, I sorta bounce in between Figure and Student depending on my mood, and they do tend to preform different roles for the deck.
I've got my fingers crossed for gatecrash as well (Boros charm, please be awesome!)
Anyone else finding that Boros is really well positioned at the moment? Im playing the landfall version that consistently kills turn 3 against all the combo decks. Obviously you have to play fair against Jund, but you have a lot more lifegain than they do, and they hurt themselves a lot ~ you're still killing them very quickly.

I said that in one of my earlier posts it really is quite strong, but more controlling versions are slightly lacking (just slightly) and Landfall can feel like a worse version of Infect.
Possibly if Infect does get hit with the ban hammer (probably not but....) Landfall Boros could move in to replace it.
Basically, Landfall is on similar ground to Infect and Affinity, an all-in aggro deck looking for a turn 3-4 win, where as Midrange Boros is playing second base to Delver and Jund.
That analysis makes sense to me. I think I like Boros more than Infect (aside from just liking the colours) because of the reach you get ~ if they can remove 1-2 creatures, infect draws into dead pump spells; Boros draws into burn spells and can still get there. I appreciate the decks have different strengths, I just like what Boros brings a little more.

Very Fair and spot on too, it's slightly a matter of speed (Infect) versus consistency (Boros). On another note, I just had a random flurry of thought that ended with my rambling section growing larger due to a theory of how to balance Midrange Boros to perform at its most optimal.
Check it out
Does mentor of the meek have a place in this deck? I mean if what we're always paining for is CA (which is pretty much why Bob jund beats us) then isn't this a decent turn 3-4 play? It comes in at the point where we will probably be looking for more cards to draw, and have enough mana left to pay the cost.
I mean it trips on figure, goblin guide, geopede, lynx and just about everything else in between...
I mean something about playing goblin guide and drawing a card for two mana is a little tickling to me.
And damn it if I'm playing aether vial I'd love me some 1: draw a card

I've thought about Mentor of the meek a fair bit, but I sorta brushed him to the side a while ago, however, what you say is completely right, and to be honest I feel like he might be what this deck is missing in terms of having a strong 3 drop. He lets you maintain momentum past T3 so that your creatures replace themselves in your hand, I could see possibly including Mirran Crusaders in a list running him. I'm worried about tapping out for him on T3 though, especially if we don't run a full playset, so that mandates him as a 4-of.
I'll look into it a bit more later today, cheers
EDIT: He's up in card choices now, I tested him a little and he's awesome!
I have played in2 dily events with the list I posted here and went 2-2 in both. Some of the loses were to affinity, Storm and infect to I believe. Some loses I was just crushed others they just top deck better. But it got me to reconsider my whole deck. Matter is against other deck we have to play control and that is a problem cant let a vautl skirge w cranial plating connect or a Blighter agent kill u with one hit.

That would be why we run the removal that we do, R/W has access to the best removal in the format, so we run it.
Affinity hurts just because we need to draw lots of removal to beat it, and we only have so many, in order to beat them we need to have control cards in our SB like Timely Reinforcements and Volcanic Fallout, and artifact hate like Shattering Spree and Stony Silence.
Infect is hard to beat overall, and is putting up results for good reason, it is a very strong deck. The best that we can do against it is bring in boardwipes like Fallout and Pyroclasm to get around protection from our removal, or better yet Ghostly Prison stops them from pumping and attacking in the same turn as they usually have smaller amounts of lands. Ethersworn Cannonist slows them down too.
What are some viable non landfall versions of this deck? The 'Denial' version in the primer looks interesting. Would it still be viable?
Boros without landfall loses alot of its aggressive potential, as such if you want to build Boros without landfall it limits you to more controlling builds, I'll put up a straight control build up in the Fringe Archetypes this evening, but overall I would rather recommend just running landfall.
In terms of the Denial version, it has undergone very little testing but I'll refine that list tonight as well and get back to you. (I just don't have time at the moment, sorry)
As a big landfall player myself ~ if you're unsure about the archetype; it is very well positioned at the moment ~ you're faster than the combo decks and you're even with Jund; not much more you can ask for really!

i also love sublime. very good in many scenarios. playtested her a lot and she pulls her weight. most times your steppe lynxs and plated geopedes are less than stellar late game.

Right now I have a landfall version minus two sacred foundries similar to Zemanjaski's list on the second page (which i'll obtain soon) in MODO but for paper I'm starting from scratch minus the foundries (translation: no zendikar fetches), so I was looking to see if there were builds I could run while getting the money/trading for the fetches. I don't run suboptimal builds of decks, so i was seeing if there were build that were good that used stuff that was less expensive.
