What is everyone's opinion on All is Dust. I think it would be a great board whip. I feel like that is what this build is missing. I know that you can run O stone. But that is 8 mana instead of 7, I know there is a down side to sacking a Trinket/Treasure mage also.
There is a guy at my LGS who runs a copy of All is Dust. It seems to work well for him, but he doesn't run a "standard" UTron list - his is A LOT more controlly with MD spell snares, no mages, emrakul, etc...
Edit: I have tried it, I don't like it because every time I draw it I want something else, but I could see it as decent SB material. I think it might be a meta call too
Ok, i was assuming i had to play a second Ruin main. Rapid Hybridization works even with Solemn Simulacrum, that's another reason running him MD.
Fabricate is already on my list.
I was grabbing some Crap Cards on my local store and get my hands on Faerie Mechanist.
A bit expensive and not quite Simulacrum, but counts as an Artifact and maybe playable in a list which runs a lot Artifacts.
The artwork of AEtherize is the only reason to play Mono-U!
I'm four cards from foiling out my maindeck (Ostone, 1 Talisman of Dominance, Oboro, Batterskull...waiting for GP Minneapolis) and from sideboard too (1 Squelch, 3 Spell Pierce)
Now would you care to share a minimum of deck list/ report so others can learn?
Regards,
Matt
4 Rounds of swiss with cut to standings
Round 1: U/W Tron (2-0) Played Snapcaster mage EoT 2 and attacked 10 turns straight to win while protecting him.
Round 2: BGW (Necra) Stuff (2-1) Played a squelch on one of his fetches turn 2 which was the last thing he expected and kept him off white he needed for lingering souls and beat him to death.
Round 3: RBw Value (2-0) Game 1 bob killed him for me Game 2 Bob killed him for me. Easy games
Round 4: Storm (Draw on time 1-1-1) I Mindslavered him game 1 turn before he was going to kill me and I played and killed him instead. Turn three he stormed out turn 8 or something and i made him play it out in hopes of us running out of time during game 3 because I assumed I had the better match breakers. and exactly that happened.
I've never uploaded a list before on here so I don't know how. However my list is your run of the mill deck besides.
Main Board
2 Solemn's
2 Talisman's
2 Spellskite (Which wins me so many games its not even funny)
Only 1 Mindslaver
1 Snapcaster Mage (I took out one Mindslaver for the snapcaster mage 2 minutes before round 1 started and he actually won me at least 3 games) I like him as a one of however.
I don't run any Trinket Mages or Fabricates but I run only 3 Treasure Mages.
It has been working wonders for me actually. My board includes:
I love the deck and have been running it for months. I'm super comfortable in almost all my matchup's and I love playing decks I haven't seen before like ANT last night. This brings me to last night I also won another tourney. This one was only a 10 man though with only 3 real modern decks which was a disappointment.
I did face ANT for the win last night and mindslavered him game one. It was my first time playing against that deck and damn can you mess them up if you get the slaver on them.
Game 2 he won off his combo and game three I won with bringing in a chalice on 0 so he couldn't cast his free Pacts and Blooms. I ended off winning off two wurmcoils. He had to hard cast his simian spirit guide to block. Thats how you know he is desperate.
If anyone wants to tell me how to quickly put a deck list up I will but until then I did my best.
Sympaticos, that isn't quite accurate. A spell will only 'fizzle' (or be countered on resolution) if ALL of its targets are illegal. The typical 'counter your spell, draw a card' mode (Dismiss) can indeed be countered on resolution by Remanding your spell, but if the modes are 'counter your spell, bounce your permanent,' it will only be countered on resolution if all of its targets are illegal.
Hey guys, I'm interested in building this deck. I just want to ask why aren't Chromatic Star and Chromatic Sphere not used in the deck? Isn't a cantrip much more important than playing either Talismans or Signets?

Not sure if this card is gonna get banned sooner or maybe later...
Please don't make crap up. This is such an obvious word vomit it's ridiculous. Something about the internet and people thinking they need to say something to fit in..
The reason why they are not used is because we are more of a toolbox deck. We are not just searching for big stuff, we have tutors for that. We need talismans for ramp.
FUN FACTS: 6-0 in the modern PE. 12-0 in games. lol.
Heh I remember playing lsv in that daily a few weeks ago?.. I kept a terrible hand g3 and drew my way out of it. After looking at his game 1. I either played perfect or he just let too many things resolve and his leaks became useless. IDK which is the case.
RD 5: UR Delver (2-0)
+2 Spell Pierce
+1 Repeal
+3 Dismember

RD 6: UWR Control (2-0)

BG Rock (2-1)

+3 dismember
+1 repeal
-3 talisman of dominance

-1 Remand
Finals v the same UR delver as rd 5. (0-2)
Stumbled out of the gate in both of these games. Took 2nd in last weeks PE. Very easily could have won it outright. Oh well. There is how you should sideboard v these decks. IMO.
You are correct that if they choose counter/bounce (which I've never had happen against me with this deck) it wont fizzle. Every other mode does however.

Rapid Hybridization
As mentioned some post's earlier, it has some great synergies with the deck, protects and kill nasty Goyfs.
Your opponent PtE's Wurmcoil? Great, throw Hybridization onto the Engine and your enemy wasted important removal, leaving you with 3x 3/3 token.
You just have 1 open Mana from Talisman of Dominance and still have viable options. Killing your own Simulacrum, Goat Token from Trading Post or even Sundering Titan smashing his Mana Base? awesome dude!
You just need one more turn to run off your Lock and your enemy threats you with annoying Critters or Faties? Kill'em.
Trading Post
Great synergies with so many Cards in the Deck.
Throw away a useless Aetherize, Map or Talisman to get 4 Life.
Want to reccur your Wurmcoil, Simulacrum oder even Bottle Gnomes? This card is the real deal!
Sacrifice Solemn Simulacrum to draw 2 Cards? do it!
The only real issue is the relative high CMC, making it a card to get down in the mid-game, it won't help us a lot against fast decks.
FAbricate
I was struggling because i didn't include Treasure Mage which maybe better. But i think it's important not just to find our bombs but anything else saving our ass (Post for Life, Simulacrum as a Chump Blocker, Map if we still miss the right Tron Pieces). I think of adding another one, just to have it when i need it.
Aetherize
Maindeck may cause some sort of crazy reaction in your oppinion, but i think it fits perfectly as a 1-of here.
Get rid of angry hordes of nasty critters, tokens (even the one Hybridization has given the opponent) and fatties (Living End comes to my mind).
If we face decks like Scapeshift, Ad Nauseam or Storm we just cycle it with Trading Post or in case it is not on the battlefield, Thirst for Knowledge. Splinter Twin combo's off and started attacking? Guess what happens!
Edit: I have tried it, I don't like it because every time I draw it I want something else, but I could see it as decent SB material. I think it might be a meta call too

I wish we could get some of those from his perspective.
One of my favorite things to do in this deck is remand my own spell against Cryptic Command If one part fizzles, the rest does

Congrats on the flawless victory.
Rapid Hybridization (or Pongify) work nicely with Repeal as well. 2 blue mana to kill any creature and draw a card
