I just sleeved up the Matt clairmont list from the first page and have been goldfishing.
A few awkward situations seem evident:
Wanting to evolve e1 pre-combat and play stormblood berserker post combat...
Copperline gorges but no forest for kird ape or no mountain for flinthoof :/
t1 e1 vs goblin guide (assume you play e1 then guide t2 swing 4+ but it feels like bad aggro)
Debating to play this at the local event on thursday or just go with old faithful (living end). Esp after reading all the lists running 4x goyf
The quick bash that used to be successful isn't so much anymore now people are packing cards to hate it (timelys got me last week, soul sisters is all over online, finks is back with a vengeance) and the older lists were ALL about the hyper bash. Most lists are looking more for the longer game now. Still fast as hell, but they have dropped things like rancor, even guide sometimes.
My list (running white) is a turn slower, but is a tad more stable, and doesnt hurt to clasm at all. Likewise, in my testing Domri Rade has been fantastic in games that draw out a little. Hes grim lavamancer with semi repeatable removal and helps longer out the game when I need it. With out him the soulsisters match is almost unwinnable game 1. But the doubleing the creatures and removal on soul sisters is really good. Game 2 fallout has cracked the game open for me.

The deck was great if you could get the explosive draw but I was getting very screwed on bad hands...and if you don't get in fast you fall behind quickly. I think I like the kibler big naya zoo list better, it has much more play to it.
"He plays in a walk in humidor so keep his foils from bending. He once kept an all land hand just to know what it felt like to be mana flooded. He uses power nine for ante. He is the most interesting magic playing in the world." Old man, "I don't always tap basic lands for mana, but when i do, I tap Gurus."
Is experiment one even worth a slot? It seems like he is just an awful draw after turn 1 and is pretty much A dead card on turn 3 or after a board wipe

I've found that Experiment One gets fat enough from the opening hand to compensate for blowing more when drawn and mucking up the curve if Goblin Guide is in the same hand. The regeneration has mattered, and it's bounced back surprisingly quickly post-regeneration.
Game 1 I went as fast as possible, not really knowing what it was. He fumbled a bit on mana and I got it.
Game 2 I sided in nothing, as I had nothing for this odd matchup. I raced faster than him, since I had a good curve. Turn one E1, into BTE, Into boar. With no way to interact he was dead.
2-0 Vs Tron
It was the blue kind, which I like, because it means turn 3 wurmcoil is pretty bad. but we just went for aggression and boom he died.
I sided in my blood moons, path and avens in. I sided out boros charms, rancors, and a bolt. Speed again, then a turn 3 aven put me over the edge.
2-1 Vs Pod.
Game 1 it looked like I was playing a bant deck. He mulled to 6, and I sped on through. Trample with Rampanger was key here.
Game 2 I realized he was pod after he went nucular on me. I sided in the wrong things, and it was just pretty bla.
Game 3 I sided in the right things. Path, aven, grudge, Burning-Tree Shaman, stony. sided out all vexing, rancor, and domri. I had speed, and none of my side stuff, but it was enough pressure to pull me through.
1-2 Pod.
Simple put... this one abused finks way more. I hate finks.
I'm taking out 1 vexing and 2 rancor for a single more ravanger and 2 more removal. See how that goes.

What don't you like about the Rancor? Or do you just want more removal?
How's Mindcensor out of the board? - I was considering basically a hatebear-SB package, Thalia, Pridemage, Mindcensor.
I'm thinking of testing out Pillar of Flame to deal with annoying things like Finks, any thoughts? I like it because it also adds sorcery to feed Goyf and can knock out dorks.
as part of the SB.
I think Renegades will be nice against: Affinity, Tron, Pod, Eggs as a way to pop off something to slow them down while also providing a decently sized body to apply pressure. I really like Shaman against Pod (applies decent pressure while also making thinking twice before combo'ing), Eggs, Twin. I'm wondering how he'll do vs. Pridemage, sometimes you need the early destruction spell though, but Pridemage destroys an artifact at the same speed but, doesn't provide a body. He does however, hit enchantments, too.
Thalia and Pridemage are obvious.
Mindcensor i think, stuffs Pod a bit, can hurt both Trons, and I think it's good against 3 color decks as a Stifle+Body targetting a Fetch
I was also thinking about doing something wonky like packing more Vexing Devils, Kird Aple/Loam Lion count and doing Proclamation of Rebirth as a 1 or 2 of; I think grabbing 2 devils and an E1 would be pretty good; or consequently 1 E1 and 2 Ape/Lion or something along those lines. I think that would make the deck pretty resilient while maintaining the aggression.

I think Scab-Clan Mauler would be a better option.
I see where your coming from but there is synergy from your burn spells and Vexing Devil making Mauler or Berserker 3/3 for 2.
Turn one Kird Ape, Turn two turns Ape sideways play a 3/3 with trample. aka Scab-Clan Mauler.
Its not a bad option. Just outside of what other decks are playing in the meta right now.
