The game where it got me, it was cheated through instant-speed grave recursion in a funky UB tron list; I forget the spell's name, but he cast it off a Dimir signet mana after using a cantrip that gave his spell instant speed. He only did it once, but it still made me think. I didn't have Chain to the Rocks in my sideboard, as I had forgotten about it, and refused to put O-ring or journey in, as I feel they are a bit clunky in this style of deck. But yeah, moot point, as the thing is just evil.

Typically against Tron decks that run signets + maps you should bring in Stony Silences. It's effectively a Sinkhole/Disenchant(when they have a signet out) for 1W that also "turns-off" several of their cards.
I'm going to start playing with one or two Chained in the SB. I'm particularly terrified of facing down Obliterators and only having 4 outs to them.
That was it! It was just obscure and bizarre, but the threat he threw out was a threat none-the-less. And yeah, game 2 and 3 I had a stoney silence, which mattered little, as he pulled jank those two games. Never did get a list from him; I like seeing other non-RG Tron player's logic in deck building, choices, etc.
How does Gruul beat Jund? I went 2-1 last night, winning against Storm and UWR Delver, but Jund completely killed me. The only game I won was when I topdecked a Lightning Bolt.
Also, I think I'm going to subtract some Rancors and add some Vines of Vastwood to the mainboard. Too much removal in my meta.

Vines are hot against removal filled junds/WUR. They can really dismantle counter game plans by being a step ahead of the removal. Whats your list again? Tarmogoyfs, 2 oozes, mutagenic growths, ghor-clan rampager vines, molten rain, those were always the keys to my success. Oh and path and chained to the rocks are good. Chained is a lot less good against G/B rock, because they run techs and ghost quarters
Definitely going to move out 2 Rancor for 2 Vines. Hell, I might even move out the third as well and put Ghor-Clan back in the main. As much as I like them, there's just been too much instant speed removal and Spellskites in my meta. Somehow, I got flooded with lands as well when playing against Jund. Also, Tarmogofys are really really hard to beat. I might put in a third Ooze either into the main or sideboard. They really help after all your dudes get Path'd.
Sadly, I don't think too many people play Gruul anymore now that Nacatl is unbanned. Also, with Anger of the Gods everywhere, it makes it really hard to play around wraths.
Yeah. White makes saving from wraths a lot better with boros charm. Bit gr still has the speed. You might conciter searing blood over burst. You got the mana for it. Anyways, yeah, vines rampager and molten rain to keep him off double red might be best:
Late late tonight I'll be posting part one of my 0 to z00 video for everyone
I consider my Naya deck really a Gruul deck; however, to access the kitties I splashed white, but its such a small amount of white you never utilize the color unless you are dropping Loams. SD is a different story.
I'm guessing money is an issue otherwise everyone should have the kittens in their Zoo.
Part 1 of 2. Once I get the cards in, and practice a bit with the program I'll be doing a part 2, talking about what I bought, why I bought it, and what I can do, plus what kinda streams and future videos I'll be hosting.
Please do, make this deck into the next "jund," the deck people see as good, and is popular for no real reason; but this one having a reason(//senses the breathe of the Jund players getting upset). And with it being on MTGO, you will face more people who play more seriously, as they are playing for tickets, and will be using more meta-decks.

Yep. Thats the hope! I really think its a bit of a snowballing effect why its not played. I mean it doesnt have the best combo matchup... at all, lets be honest.
Hey guys! visiting the zoo-train again - what do you think of the following list, winning a 28 person tournament. I guess the Tarmogoyf were Stormblood Berserker for budget reasons (interesting take though), but other than that it looks like a nice aggressive list with a straightforward sb-plan.
I like the choices a lot!
Hey, so I'll be doing a new primer and splitting Gruul Beats zoo into deck creation and small zoo into here. The mods and I have been talking, and alot of threads are going to go through a reboot, and this is one of them.

Do you want a separate Primer for Counter Cat, as well? I've been noodling with it and wouldn't mind writing/upkeeping a primer on it in whichever subforum.
I would believe the same thing; many Blue Domain list have starting running Geist and Tiago as their only Blue cards, with no counters, and fit into domain. Counter-cat is different in it's own rights, and plays like a hastily man's UR delver.
On the Gruul-Zoo separation, I've felt the two decks to be different myself; they play the same plan, but the cardchoices have proven to be different when you add the Nacatl and W.
The list above, I think I remember seeing 2 Misty Rainforests, if it's the list I am thinking of.
Ive redone the gruul zoo primer video, and I talk about nacatl... but even when using nacatl, alot of white or white part cards are still outta the question. And some cards which are totally viable with gruul isnt with normal zoo. Like blood moon main (Ive been toying with that list and it is so legit...) and strangle rootgiest.
Counter cat can get its own thread too probably. Where you can talk about delver veriants as well as normal veriants. Id break up zoo as the following:
Kiblar Naya- Midrange deck with ramp into 5 cmc stuff and walkers.
Small Zoo- Traditional small zoo, naya colors bringing the beats
Gruul Zoo- 99% red and green beats. Little to no spells other than bolts.
Counter cat- an aggressive TEMPO deck using counter protection over burn aggression
Domain zoo- 5 cmc of what the best of colors have to offer, plus tribal flames.
Edit: Ive finished the thread for Gruul Zoo. I'm just waiting til the video uploads then I'll post up that thread. I'll be working on Small Zoo's now. Video will wait until Ive got access to MTGO. Since its an established deck, it should be done on an official platform. Same with kibler midrange.
Domain zoo on CFB, I dont like the main deck, and pat coxs admits to it being an old list. I commented on it. But hes a good zoo keeper, good watch regardless.
Edit: at the end of round 2, each time he used a tribal flames it was for 4 and it went to the face, because of ackward mana. While I love flames more for the fact it can be removal over the extra 1 burn, seems better. Anyone watch this and second it?
Edit 2: Even in round 3 match 1 when hes racing scapeshift, the opponents at 8, and he was going to win tribal flames X2 to do 10 damage, but with him at 8 life, 2 boros charms killed him too.
Edit 3: Mutagenic growth did work though... Aven mind cencer and giest too.
Edit 4: So finnally hits for 5 with a flames in round 4, game 1. and puts the dude at four. But thats leathal anyways with a bolt, snap and any burn in grave, as well as a 4/5 goyf and giest. Truthfully this is the only match Ive seen so far where blue mattered, and more for giest than flames.
Edit 5: So after it all, the round 4 match ends with the opponent at the life of 5, and him with flames that could only do 4 because of the lands. He still wins because he can attack burn, dropping the other guy to 2, and then any burn finishes him. I still think boros is better, but at the cost of not feeding goyf a sorcery and 1 less burn. Dunno. Again, blue really only seems to shine with giest, but naya can do the rest "Pretty much as well"

Greaat video, guess I have no reason to not get an mtgo deck now
How do you guys feel about the spoilers from the current set? Do you think your going to get enough combo hate to start getting more t8 standings?
Love that comic's logic.
Quicken + Goryo's Vengeance? (Or was it some other Reanimation card?)
Jeeze.

Its actually a really old list. Like, pre nacatl old. It makes sense it could win. Its got speed, and that can just blantently win sometimes.

It's sorta out of place in Domain/Big/Small/Gruul
