Its true Burn is a problem still, for which reason I would still run CB in the SB. Its though to fit all in, but what I can say is that CB was kinda mediocre lately in the MB at least. Running Push in the SB seems also like an interesting option. What did you cut for it though?
I guess Night of Souls' Betrayal? Honestly, I rarely keep my sideboard together for longer than a couple weeks while Modern is in season. I reform it for my paper deck about once or twice a month based on what's popular online, at my LGS and at the few events I travel to in my region. If I go to a big event, everything gets stripped down to the core and I rebuild based on the top decks. For instance, last week I got blindsided by all the aggro (Zoo, Burn and Merfolk) that popped up at my LGS, but I still haven't seen an Affinity deck in over six months. If it weren't for Infect, I would've cut Ancient Grudge a while ago.
I just read on Reddit, from a Jund pilot at the Dallas Open, that a ton of the DS players are traditional Jund players that are trying the deck. Consider this when bringing up recent tournament results and Jund's current viability.
I think that was me...
The consistency of Jund attracts a lot of spikes. We shouldn't be surprised that a more proactive version of Jund with consistent draws and amazing tournament results would attract those same spikes, especially if they already owned 2/3 of the cards. They may be "trying it out" or they may have permanently switched.
Assessing the competitive validity of Modern decks is always tricky: is the deck THAT good, or are all the best players on that deck?
Regardless of the answer, you can either switch to that deck or play the traditional midrange/control build. If you're staying, then the current meta is like the other metas before it - finding the right balance of removal, threats, and sideboard answers.
I know it's taboo, but what are your thoughts of cutting a single bolt for push? For the first time in a very, very long time, bolt is not the overpowered card it usually has been. Cutting 1x K Command may be correct, it misses a lot. You could also trim the creatures down to 13x again and use that 14th slot for push.
That leaves two decent spots open for 2x Push
and 1x experimental spot of the bolt-push swap (which i'm not sure would work).
CB seems really bad to cut, I wouldn't do that.
There's also the possibility of cutting K-Command altogether (Which I don't really like)
If you cut the K-Commands for Push, cut down to 1x 4 drop, you could seriously consider cutting the 24th land for a push, too.
either way, I think those are possibilities. Something in Jund has to change, it needs to differentiate itself from DSJ and Abzan which are better in this meta.
Cutting one Bolt could work, but i am hesitant about it. Right now, 13 creatures is the average anyway, i could see cutting a decay and kcommand for 2 push. I guess its true that cb is still important enough. This would lead me to the following:
Oh hey, another 'Jund sucks' post from you, what a surprise. Did you bother to read the post on this exact same page that says a lot of the current DSJ players are Jund players who are trying out some new things?
Anyway - I think Surgical is great right now. It hits big mana and it hits DSJ - now you just need to get their key pieces in the yard. Finding the card that hits both decks is the issue. You could get real fancy with Beast Within if you wanted to, but that doesn't seem ideal.
Get over yourself, I posted multiple posts about possible suggestions for the deck and how to adapt to the meta
The deck is tier 2, that's not a jund sucks post as Jund itself is still a good deck, it's a reality. I posted the same link elsewhere
They aren't just trying it out, it's what Jund is evolving to, you'll find people saying similar things on Reddit, Facebook and even MTGO, where for the first ever I'm seeing Jund dip close below 3%

Really, because I was talking about where to fit fatal pushes just a few posts ago
Put me on the ignore list if you guys hate it, I've been in the Jund forums for over two years, I'm not going anywhere because I still love the archetype
This Jund is definitely not a terrible deck, it's actually very much still tier 1 in terms of power level
I would suggest taking a look on mtgo, and the first 14 decks on it though.
Positive matchups:
I'd say slight edge on
Burn, Grixis Delver, Storm and AD NAUS
Even matchups or close to it: Death's Shadow, Affinity, Merfolk (I see the case of merfolk and Affinity being 55/45, I'm not sure and would like input)
I've seen this on a small case at both my FNMs, MTGO and watching the modern tournaments.
I do think Jund is in a rough spot though, and Junk's not fairing much better against those Elrazi and ramp decks either, I think we'll see Junk fall back into tier 2 again pretty soon as well.
The probe ban was a big blow to fair decks, although the dredge ban and it's stranglehold on decks definitely made Jund itself better since it freed those decks that Jund shines in
Just put me on ignore if you're going to be overly-sensitive, it's as simple as that, you're free to do so. You shouldn't be upset if I'm laying out simplified data and pointing out where the deck is and where it needs to go from here. Chaos and Cfremont are also very free to put me on ignore if you'd like, I'm not offended by it. I'm glad Flyer is at least seeing where Jund needs to go and what to brainstorm

Its not overly sensitive to get annoyed that you come into a jund forum to talk about how much better other decks are. Im not even saying that you are wrong about the meta, but you literally come here daily and say mostly negative things about jund. Its annoying. Maybe you should try taking responsibility for yourself instead of telling people to just block you
Pls guys, just go back to Business, all this doesn't belong here at all.
@spsiegel1987 cutting decay for push might be wrong, that could be true. I think cutting one kcommand for a singleton push could be made easily at least.
Push definitely could take a K-Command's place, what surprises me is that MTGO has Affinity at 6.73% but I've barely been seeing it, it doesn't look like it's been doing too hot in the tournaments either.
Cutting the Decay makes the mirror matches worse, makes Lantern harder (if you're cutting 1 K-command) and just makes things worse.
If Eldrazi is getting so big, why not run 4x Terminates, all that removal could help fight against Bant Eldrazi, right?

DSJund does look like fun, just not fun enough to justify picking up a play set of expensive uncommons. So traditional Jund it is!

For affinity, I did also wander what happened. Its the second most popular deck and I don't see it anywhere.
