What were your overall thoughts on the 3/3 split of Lilianas? Would you run back the same number, tweak the ratio, or cut a few altogether?
Did you feel like you missed having the second Abrupt Decay? I can never bring myself to go below 2.
Not really a question, but I love the cohesive design of your sideboard, and really just your 75 in general. Could you speak a bit to your decision to run Blood Moon over Fulminator Mage for this tournament?
I've been testing Rabblemaster and gotten over 40 games so far, definitely helps with the Control and Combo match ups.
Though does not help much against Death's Shadow as they have these big beefy creatures that block 1/1 goblins all day.
Against Aggro, I usually side them out for Kitchen Finks and sweeper
Well in theory we are slightly favoured vs. DS anyway. Thats why Rabblemaster should help us in theory with our most problematic matchups, control and big mana. But I personally was not really impressed with rabblemaster from my testing.

I think decay is actually the weakest its ever been in modern right now. I am also in the 2 copies team, but I think its about time to shave one copy.
Just finished 29th in the open with Jund. Happy to answer any questions, lets make Jund great again
Didn't you ever feel that your manabase is a little bit on the low side? I have terrible experiences with 23 lands only. Even without 4 drops MB in my case.
TLDR section: finished 10-4-1, lost to E-Tron, GDS, Infect, Abzan drew with dredge
Round 1 Elves 2-1:
Game 1 I keep a hand with a tarmogoyf, a couple of Lilianas and some land. He was on the play and starts with a mana dork. I play a tapped land and pass. He then plays a heritage druid and does elves things. I lost on turn three to a shaman of the pack for a ton and a big swing.
Game 2 I have a hand with earlier interaction and a last hope. I pass turn 1, he plays a mana dork, I terminate it. His t2 he plays another 1/1 and I play last hope and start picking apart everything he plays. I locked him out and he scoops. Game 3 I have another hand full of kill spells
Round 2 Storm 2-1:
Game 1 I keep another so-so hand. I didn't have any hand rips but I had a fatal push. Eventually drew a tarmogoyf but it was by like turn 6/7 and he just stormed off without the creature.
Out: 3x Last Hope, Terminate, Huntmaster, Kalitas, 1x K-Com
In: 2x Rabblemaster, 2x Collective Brutality, 2x Nihil Spellbomb, 1x Anger of the Gods
Game 2 I keep a hand with disruption and a goyf. I rip out his relevant pieces and beat him down with tarmodaddy.
Game 3 I kept a 1 lander with a fatal push, an IOK and 2 thought-siezes. I rip his hand to shreds and eventually draw a second land. I think I beat him to death with a tarmogoyf I drew later.
Round 3 Eltronzi 0-2:
Game 1 lost the die roll, starts off with a tron piece and a map, his turn 2 was another tron piece and pass. I drop a tarmogoyf and pass and then he drops a karn, my hand is in no way shape or form suited to deal with karn and he followed up with double smasher on the following turn. I proceeded to my scoop phase.
Game 2 I had a couple of decent cards in hand but he was poised for turn 3 tron again. He had a wurmcoil with an ugin ready to come down next turn. I died quickly and went to go get food after the quick defeat.
Round 4 Jeskai Control 2-0:
Game 1 I kept a hand with one of each Lilianas and some hand disruption. I take his counter magics and start playing Liliana tribal. Both of my walkers get in ult range and he scoops.
Game 2 I turn 1 hand rip, turn 2 I play bob turn 3 I play rabblemaster. He kills the bob and rabblemaster proceeds to put in work. By the time he dealt with the rabblemaster I dropped a liliana of the veil and junded him out.
Round 5 Dredge 1-1-1:
Game 1 I didn't have any graveyard interaction in hand, he had 3 amalgams and 2 blood ghasts on turn 3. I died fairly quickly.
Game 2 I kept a slowish hand with a kalitas. I do the minimum I had to for stalling and then drop the kalitas. I start picking off his creatures and getting a bunch of zombies and he scoops.
Game 3 I kept a hand with some kill spells and a scooze. Luckily for me he didn't see a conflagarate and the scooze grows to a 12/12. At the end I made a huge mis play. I was ready to start putting him on a clock and I swung the scooze into a swinkweed imp forgetting it has pseduo death touch only realising it when he started reaching for the imp. Scooze dies but I exiled the majority of his threats. We have a dispute over life totals when he attempted to conflagarate me for 11, the head judge ruled in my favor for having all 10 upticks in life on my life pad. Although if he chose my opponents it wouldn't have made a difference either as I had a damnation in hand. We went to time, I wiped his board and he ended with 1 card left in his deck, and I couldn't get a clock going back up since I suicided my scooze.
Round 6 Skred 2-0:
This one felt bad since I had to play against my friend who I rode up here with.
Game 1 I knew he was on skred so I start getting all the basics I can and proceed to Jund him out, ripping his threats, killing his creatures and winning through walkers. He saw multiple relics each game so my goyfs were useless.
Don't remember how I sided but I know I threw in chandra and rabblemasters.
Game 2 he has the board presence but I have a bob on board. Was a very casual game and I don't remember much but I remember winning off of last hope and rabblemaster beats.
Round 7 4c Humans 2-1 (Mario, placed 30th I believe):
Game 1 I remember I kept a hand with last hope in it with a hand rip. His hand was a pilgrim and 2 nobles with a falconer. I take the falconer and proceed to kill both nobles, a pilgrim and a lt with Liliana, the Last Hope. He scoops after getting Junded Out.
I was tempted to bring in blood moons here but I wasn't fully convinced I could kill all his mana dorks before getting run over.
Game 2 he starts off fast with a three pilgrims, a lt and mayor. I played a bob early and hoped to draw some cheap removal to keep up with his threats. I play a kalitas later and he drops a rest in peace right after. Since his cards would be affected he gets to choose which replacement effect is used making kalitas useless. He plays a falconer and flys over me for game.
Game 3 Was similar to game 1, I rip his hand and take the rest in peace as I have a kalitas in hand. I kill some guys and drop a kalitas. He had no answer in addition to a slower hand and gets beat down fairly quickly.
Round 8 Eldrazi Tron 2-1:
Game 1: I get run over by eldrazis pretty quickly. He led with T2 TK.
In/Out same as other E-Tron match
Game 2: I don't remember much but I remember winning off blood moon as he was un prepared.
Game 3: I start with a thoughtseize and rip some stuff to slow him down. I drop a veil, a couple of goyfs after disrupting him and pitching things to veil. I clock him with 2 7/8 goyfs for the game
Round 9 Jeskai Control 2-1:
Game 1 he controls me, I didn't see a walker until late in the game where he was able to deal with it easily.
In/Out same as earlier control match
Game 2 I got controlled out, he had 4~ cards in hand and was tapped out. I draw blood moon and resolve it. "**** me, I went from driving the car to being dragged behind it" ~ my opponent. I draw a goyf the next turn and beat him down quickly as he had 0 basics.
Game 3 I kept a hand with bob and some walkers. He spends the game trying to deal with him. He uses his counterspell on something I don't remember and bob rips a blood moon. I play blood moon and he spell quellers it. I fetch another basic, terminate it and start the lock. I proceed to beat him to death with bob and finish day 1 7-1-1 and qualify for day 2.
Round 10 GDS 1-2:
Game 1 he hurts himself alot, I drop a tarmogoyf and proceed to kill everything he plays. I have a goyf, 5/5 scooze a manland and a huntmaster. I swing to finish him off.
Game 2 he plays a young pyromancer and I have 0 removal. I die to a token swarm. He ripped every blood moon out of my hand so I was unsuccessful there.
Game 3 goes similar to game 2 but he also draws better. Young pyromancer a death shadow and a snapcaster clean up my board.
Round 11 Jund 2-1
Game 1 he mulls to 6 and keeps a 1 lander with a basic swamp. He draws a bob and land later but I drop last hope and kill it and proceed to take over the board, he scoops.
Game 2 he plays bob and tracker and I got junded out, couldn't stick any threat or answer his.
Game 3 I play bob and play last hope to kill his bob. We waste eachothers resources until later when he plays hazoret. I play a 5/6 goyf and a rabblemaster. Rabblemaster puts in work and the goyf can safely block hazoret. I build up enough board to swing out for the game.
Round 12 Infect (Zan Syed) 1-2:
Game 1 he had a big inkmoth and protection, I had only a bolt and he was more than ready to answer it.
Don't remember how I sided, was a little unprepared for this matchup
Game 2 I play a tarmogoyf and kill a bunch of his things. He died fairly quickly.
Game 3 he had 2 inkmoth nexus and that new enchantment from ixalan. He has more pumps and protection than I have mana and kill spells.
Round 13 GDS 2-1:
Game 1 I get beat down by a death's shadow that I can't answer.
In/Out same as before
Game 2: Rabblemaster and killspells take the game.
Game 3: I remember I had a veil and he had a last hope which killed my bob. He drops 2 death's shadows and passes. I draw a hand rip and have a maelstrom pulse already. I play the handrip to clear the way for the pulse and take his stuborn denial and kill both death shadows. He minuses a couple times on his liliana and I draw into spell bomb. I kill his death shadow and exile his graveyard. His draws after that are pretty dead and I start beating him down with a raging ravine.
Round 14 E-Tron 2-1
Game 1 I hand rip and take his early stuff and beat him down with a tarmogoyf. The two creatures he plays I am able to kill and keep beating with goyf until he dies.
In/Out same as before.
Game 2 he pukes a ton of elrazis out very quickly and I can't keep up. He plays TKS and I scoop so he doesn't see my blood moon in hand.
Game 3 I keep a hand setup for turn 3 blood moon. I handrip and take his karn and leave his wurmcoil and eldrazis. I drop bloodmoon on 3 and my opponent does nothing major all game. By the time he found a map to crack for wastes I was swinging for lethal.
Round 15 Abzan 0-2.
Game 1 I kept a 2 lander with a bob. My opponent killed the bob and I proceed for not draw land for what felt like 5 turns. Meanwhile he has a bunch of lingering souls tokens and a rhino and I can't catch up by the time I find my third land.
Game 2 I play a bob and last hope and proceed to flood hard. He plays a rhino and flayer and I can't keep up. Last hope felt pretty bad here, was hoping he played lingering souls instead but thems the beats.
23 lands has felt just right, I am not trying to curve out into 4 drops, they are more or less helpful if the games drag out but I am not dependent on them.
1) Thanks!
2) I would for sure run 6 again she feels great. They are almost like a mirror, where one is bad the other is REALLY good. There were also times like against control where I had both out at the same time which felt very powerful. I could see myself running a different ratio or just the normal 4 veil but I expected to face alot of E-Tron, Control and Company decks thus the 3/3 split. As usual with Jund I think it ultimately boils down to a meta call.
3) I didn't think I would need a second decay in this current meta although it was hard to cut it. I think it worked out great because decay was mostly a 2 mana kill spell this weekend.
3) I always feel like fulminator is too clunky, blood moon is really strong right now against titanshift, greedy manabases and can be good against Eldrazi tron if they aren't prepared for it or don't draw one of their 6 outs. Most lists aren't running mind stone right now so it seems good at the moment
Why did you decide to go with 2 Forests as opposed to 1 Forest and something else (another fetch perhaps)? I understand the two swamps (double black Lili), but I wasn't sure about the two forests. Thanks!

In the banned and restricted article from yesterday they mention that they talked about unbannings, specifically for Modern, but opted to wait until after the pro tour because they were happy with the general health of the format right now. The phrasing makes it sound like something is going to be unbanned in February, barring some Eldrazi Winter-type disaster in the interim.

That makes it speculation, not rumors.

In the course of discussing options for this announcement, we did discuss unbanning in Modern. However, given the current healthy state of the format and the upcoming Modern Pro Tour, we plan to wait for the results of Pro Tour Rivals of Ixalan to evaluate any potential changes for the format. We anticipate making an announcement in February after the results from that tournament come in.
Speaking of which, we do not anticipate making any changes to Modern with the January 15 announcement. We're sensitive to the timing of that announcement relative to the Pro Tour, and only would make a change if it were very clearly needed. Given the current state of the format, we believe that will be extremely unlikely.
Hello folks, on Monday I played my second local event with jund and i really enjoyed the deck.
With a friend's help, i made some changes, more precisely because we have 4 BW tokens on local store(with me, 5 bw tokens).
The event:
Round 1 (Tokens BW) 2x0
G1: Keep a very aggressive hand, win very fast
G2: Slow game, opponent with leyline white, terrible draws, i draw damnation on the last turn, and win with goyf + finks
Round 2 (Company With Coralhelm) 1x1
G1: Very disputed game, i mistake on some exchanges and lost
G2: I controlled and won fast with Grim Flayer + 2 Lili's
G3: I controlled and could not win in 5 turns
Round 3 (Tokens BW) 2x0
G1: Keep a very aggressive hand, win very fast
G2: Opponent flood, i open aggressive and Grim Flayer + LTLH
Round 4 (BW Tokens, lol) 2x0
G1: I keep in a very aggressive hand again, i controlled wit pulse and decay, i win with LTLH and Olivia
G2: Very difficult game, won with damnation top deck, pulse and Grim Flayer
Considerations:
Grim Flayer was great in my meta. I'm thinking in use 2 Scooze and 2 Grim Flayer
I never used my best sides (explosives and Virulent Pleague)
I need to improve my game a lot, My mistakes in company match cost the game.
I was very lucky in this night

Well in theory we are slightly favoured vs. DS anyway. Thats why Rabblemaster should help us in theory with our most problematic matchups, control and big mana. But I personally was not really impressed with rabblemaster from my testing.

The list:
https://deckstats.net/decks/74507/771873-jund-v3
