I went 3-3 at the PPTQ. I recall losing at least 3 games where I flooded horribly. Drew lands 6 turns in a row while I took 2 damage each turn. I wish this deck were leaner.
BBE > K-Command > Goyf + kill a dude = Not going to happen.
how is that better than snapcaster?
Don't look just at the cascade effect. A hasty body that swings for 3 the turn it lands could be game changing. The reason I feel she could be great against big mana decks is that I often lose to Tron or whatever, being just a bolt short from victory...If you ask me, against Tron I don't need a Magic Christmas land scenario with BBE and KCommand. I would be happy with just a small amount of luck and a BBE into bolt to the face.
What can I say...let's hope and see.
Cheers!

This is part of why I've been stoked about Claim // Fame as well. The haste has been extremely relevant in both Big mana matchups to close out the game or against the midrange mirrors to flip the advantage (like they have a LotV steadily ticking up but the board has been cleared. All of a sudden you kill their Lili and now have a Grim Flayer or Goyf and they have nothing. Especially Grim Flayer. They better hope to topdeck removal or they are going to lose the topdeck game.
Today i went 4-0 with good old jund list with 2 kalitas and 24 lands
G1 2-0 esper control
G2 2-1 ur gift storm
G3 2-1 affinity
G4 2-1 affinity
If there is anything I've been obliging by lately, it's the phrase "never leave affinity hate at home". If anything, error on the side of too much hate. It's never been popular in my area but ever since GP Vegas it's been on the rise. The last 3 major Modern events in my area have had 3 copies of affinity in top 8.
So I'm taking Jund to a PPTQ this weekend. I'm fairly settled on the main board, only question being if I want a second Decay or Kolaghan's Command (currently have the second Decay). The sideboard is giving me issues though, I can't seem to find something I'm 100% comfortable with. Anyone up for taking a look and leaving some feedback, I'd appreciate some conversations about it!

I've been liking Flaying Tendrils over Anger of the Gods lately. Same exile clause for slightly less painful mana requirements while actually killing Etched Champion through metalcraft. I would probably max Fulminator Mage at 2 copies and move that slot to a second Maelstrom Pulse due to it being all-around good. Similarly I'd probably drop to a single Grafdigger's Cage and use that to roll w some GY hate for decks that don't care about the cage - Nihil Spellbomb being my go-to there. I am not a huge Shatterstorm fan but some people swear by it. I like 2 Ancient Grudge more.

Tendrils not hitting Amalgam is reason enough for me to not want it, I have the Anger almost exlusively for Dredge. RR never seems hard to get, but BB would certainly be easier. As for Etched Champion, I'm kinda just relying on removing everything else and hoping to pluck them out of their hand. He'll never be easy to answer though. I like swapping a Cage for a Spellbomb, 1/1 split seems decent, maybe 1/2 if I cut a Fulminator.
Hey guys, made a couple small changes to my list and am looking for feedback. Going to a large event soon and I suspect a lot of Affinity, GDS, Burn, Eldrazi Tron, and the mirror:
4+ drops choices - Huntmaster always gets a nod from me because he's literally never a bad top deck. He's great when you're behind, and great when you're ahead. Olivia helps against Lingering Souls (which I both expect to see a good number of and is hard for Jund to fight) and feels really strong right now due to big, flightless creatures being the norm of the meta. Thundermaw also helps against Lingering Souls, flies over the majority of the meta and is fantastic in the mirror. He's also closed out a significant number of games in testing.
3/3 Discard Split - Thoughtseize is much better against GDS and Eldrazi. Also hits Titan Shift better, which seems to be coming up in popularity.
Cutting a Bolt for Dismember - I feel I'm on to something worthwhile here. Dismember kills every relevant creature in the meta outside of Ullamog and Prime Titan. Bolt is the worst it's ever been, and while I'd never want to play 0, cutting one for this spell seems natural, especially since it keeps my 1-mana removal count the same without dipping lower on Fatal Push.
Quick Sideboard Rundown - Spellbomb and Cage help against Dredge, but I'm preferring Spellbomb due to it's added utility against DS and the mirror. Fulminator, Finks, Grudge and Brutality are core. Lavamancer comes in against any match where Bolt is actually good. Lili adds additional token protection, and helps fight the mirror. Kolaghan's #2 is because I wanted a card that hit both Affinity and Burn. Thrun is slightly a pet card because I really, really, really hate permissive control decks.
Currently my only debate is whether to keep Thundermaw main or swap it around with the 2nd Kolaghan's. The former helps close pre-board games when the opponent isn't expecting it, but the latter gives me better non-specific coverage.
G1: VIZIR 2-0
G2: INFECT 2-0
G3: BANT ELDRAZI 2-1
G4: LIVING END 2-1
It is a strange list, with strange choices.
About 22 lands: I don't need so much lands with this list. I need only some cards in the graveyard in order to play Tasigur as soon as possible.
About 5 Lilianas: I want to see this one every game. And then, now I can see every match.
So, I think that I'll receive a lot of bad comments about my list hahaha, but you should try it =)
Lots of different lists and approaches going on here. Seems that we still struggle to find a concensus on what to run. I think right now there is no wrong way of doing it. Preference is striking all over the place here.
One question remains though, did anybody continue testing the traverse version of Jund? I am going to a pptq at the weekend and I am wandering if I should give it another try for that event or stick to traditional jund. I am leaning towards the latter actually.
I've been testing it. While I generally like it a lot, I think my exposure to graveyard hate is higher than normal. It's so much so that I wouldn't take it to any serious tournament.

Obvious trepidation of flipping Tasigur to Bob aside, I like the main deck if for no other reason than I have a desire in my builds to never go below 3 bolts. Do you find that the more versatile but not as good Rakdos Charm and Jund Charm are better than options like Grafdigger's CageAncient GrudgeNihil Spellbomb, etc? I realize that since you're running 3 of each Fulminator Mage and Kitchen Finks that your space is tight so was the thinking "well i only have 2 slots so I'll go w charms here"?

I think being that exposed to GY hate in a real tournament could be dangerous.
they are flexible slots, because with Jund Charm I can add another "wrath" removal in a lot of matchups, and about Rakdos Charm I can add it in the Affinity/Lantern matchup (because I don't play Ancient Grudge).
These slots should be 2 nihil spellbomb, but I consider to play them because of their flexibility.

I'm still playing it to good success so far. I tested a Big Game Hunter in the main and really REALLY liked it. Sure it's opened me up a bit to GY hate but I think it's a sacrifice worth making. I'm modifying my sideboard to be less reliant on the graveyard and if folks are bringing in Rest in Peace and Leylines, I think I am ok with that. The upside has been pretty great so far. I'll be taking it to my local PPTQ this weekend.
I think the gy hate might be an issue. I expect people to have GY hate at the tournament for which reason I don't want to be susceptible to much. I think I am going to stick with the traditional build and tweak it according to my expectations.

As usual, it all depends on your meta. My meta has seen a notable increase of Affinity so I am focusing a lot on making sure I don't lose that matchup. Death shadow and other creature decks are next. Big mana decks third. So far I've felt pretty good about my positioning against all 3.
