While researching cards for another deck I came across this long forgotten gem and I immediately thought about how good it might be in our 8-Seas build. Giving away freeislands is already extremely effective against non blue decks. One of the things holding the build back is the inability to spam 12 seas. But with annex we can steal what we cannot flood out.
We are already trying to bottleneck their mana with gigadrowse and exhaustion, Why aren't we splashing red for Stone Rain so an additional line to victory would be to lock them out of having lands all together (or at least set them back really far)
If your wanting to tackle the lands with the 8 seas package you can try using ghost quarters with crucible of worlds. I'm using crucible/GQ quite often now in a handful of decks because of how greedy some lists are for non basics.
Ok. So after testing at FNM and running into 2 abnormal Tron decks and affinity, I was right. UR Tempo Turns is great against aggro but maybe not anything else. I will give a very brief synopsis of each game.
Match 1 - Affinity {2-1} Win
(Game 1)
I was on the play, countered some key cards, and went off on turn 5 at about 8 Life. Bolt was a hoss. Win.
(Game 2)
On the draw against affinity is always rough plus muligan. Loss
(Game 3)
This game I realized this deck does very well on the play. Again Mana Leak and Lightning Bolt put in work up to a turn 5 Chandra, Thorch of Defiance and a Exhaustion. GG. Win.
Match 2 - U Tron {0-2} Loss
(Game 1)
This deck I just could not get on top of at all. Of course my main board was nothing to this power house of a deck with such consistency. Even when Blood Moon hit it was to no avail as the only colored spells he ran were counters and it hit late. Loss
(Game 2)
I took a mulligan to 6 and was on the play. I commandeered a Expedition map in hopes to out tempo, only to have it Cyclonic rifted back to my opponents hand. It had just the right amount of Counterspells to shut down my post board and I saw no Blood Moon the whole game. The game dragged on to late game until I could not answer anymore fat creatures. Loss
Match 3 - Gifts Tron {1-2} Loss
(Game 1)
This match was alot easier and much more enjoyable. I had a great first game with Blood Moon and Part the Waterveil FTW.
(Game 2)
This game was so much fun as we both had great plays. Twice I played Chandra to -3 a Thought-Knot Seer and play an Exhaustion. Only for my opponent to play a land and drop a Walking Ballista for 1 and ping her dead. Loss
(Game 3)
I unfortunately drew all the wrong cards all game. Such is the nature of the game. Loss
I ended up very unlucky and received a bye for the 4th match making my overall 2-2.
So as I said before, great against aggro. But I want my MB to be good against everything, so I have reassessed my build for next week, which I hope you will all give me some advice on. HAPPY GAMING!
I've personally never had a problem going off with 8 turn spells. I really think 8 is my sweet spot and really want to make it work. I've found that going off isn't the problem but rather the interaction to get there. With 10 I often find myself getting stuck with them in my hand when I need other things. so I'm looking to balance the interaction package. I do agree that running 4 Snapcaster is optimal but I've pushed the flex to the max already to fit Chandra and bolt, which have been mvp in almost every game I've tested. I habe considered cutting cryptic command, but that is the only card I could see viable to cut other than other interaction but that is where I'm falling short. My goal is to make this deck uber competitive which overall turns is not getting in any of its lists aside from that glass cannon as foretold build. But it didn't seem consistent to me.
I guess what I'm getting at is I feel like early game interaction is where the deck falls short. And if we can fix that then gg. Because we all know we dominate mid and late game most of the time.
I wasnt commenting the total number but the fact that you should play the full set of both. You can cut ptw for them, it 's better this way
But then I feel that 2 Chandra isn't enough to get there but I will give it a shot. I really appreciate the input. I'm excited to see this UB turns. I've considered trying it with lost of hand disruption and removal options.

So you are thinking this looks better?(I'm sorry, I don't know how to tag a deck on mobile)

let's hope it doesn't get too popular...it's the sort of deck that WOTC likes to hit with the ban hammer if it start getting played by too many people...

welcome aboard! I've been on the tardis for at least 3 years, when part the waterveil didn't exist and you won by milling people with jace

Censor snapback and commandeer scream pet cards so much... Awesome commandeer maindeck tho

Overall I feel this new, more traditional build, will be stronger and much more consistent.
What you are doing wrong is
-playing 3 time warp
- same with mastery and serum vision
-playing only 2 snapcaster, you really want 4 in ur lists
