I ran into the player and we chatted between rounds several times. He said he wasn't able to find the last Stormbreath Dragon in time so he was just using the Glorybringer in its place. He said it performed okay, but it seemed like he fully planned on replacing it when he got the chance.
That's hilarious, I always do that kind of thing because I'm cheap, but seeing that list made me think it was on purpose.
Also, what are you guys running in the sideboard for artifact hate? Ideally I'd be running 2x Shattering Spree and 1x Shatterstorm, but SS is like $15 so I only have one. I was running 1x Shattering Spree, 1x Shatterstorm, and 1x Smash to Smithereens, but I've been considering trying out a Smash in place of the Smash to Smithereens. The extra 3dmg from the latter is nice, but not essential to our gameplan. The cantrip from Smash would be nice, but costing an extra mana makes it slower against decks like Affinity(which we have plenty of removal for anyways). What are your thoughts?
I've been doing fine with just 2x Shattering Spree, myself. Like you said, Affinity is the biggest issue, and we already have oodles of hate against them.
Shatterstorm is so good though because it blows up everything except for Darksteel Citadel, including Etched Champion. I just wonder what's better against other decks that run some artifacts, Shattering Spree or Shatter.
Abrade, for extra removal options against Devoted combo and the like. Good versatility.
Ooh yeah I totally forgot about that card. That's probably a better option. Can probably bring it in if you expect Chalice/Pithing Needle too, and if you don't see it you can at least have some removal.
I run Shattering Spree and Ratchet Bomb, which tend to do the job. The latter also adds on anti-aggro and it does a number on Boggles. Abrade would be another good choice, if you wanted more flexible single target options.
R2: Gr Tron 0-2 L (Lost due to playing a second Blood Moon, which he then topdecked and Oblivion Stone to kill both....)
-3 Sweltering Suns
-1 Magma Jet
Overall, the deck was super fun to play. Please, if you have any advise about the list (other than upgrading to Snow-Covered Mountains and Skreds) or how I sideboarded, please feel free to let me know!
You can do it but you have to take out all your Relics and Mindstones. You can run Simian Spirit Guide over Mindstones, but having no graveyard interaction other than Anger of the Gods doesn't seem very good.
Over the past couple weeks I've played against Elves, Burn, Death's Shadow, 8-Rack, Copy Cat, UW Control, BW Tokens, Eldrazi Tron. My only two losses over 4 tournaments have been to Copy Cat where I couldn't get anything to stick, and 8-Rack, where their discard plan left me will little choices. Ensnaring bridge from the board is always a great surprise to them. Game 1 wins are usually Stormbreath and Koth Elemental Based. Game 2 Wins are usually pillow fort ultimating Planeswalkers tactics. Eternal Scourge is still a great choice in my current meta as it combos with relic and they waste removal spells that would have been better spent on the stormbreath dragons.
I'm actually really happy with only having 2 copies of Pia and Kiran Nalar in the deck. I know a lot of people run 3 but I havent missed the third copy. I'd rather have another stormbreath in the main board. Blood Moon still steals random wins and comboed with Ensnaring bridge completely shuts down Death's Shadow. The pure frustration of those cards together usually ends in a scoop win while informing me that they could use their Anguished Unmaking to deal with one of them (if they are on esper) or it simple shuts down their kolaghan's command as they no longer have colors.
4x Chandra seems like 1-2 too many imo, but depends on how you use her I guess. Also I'm sure Ensnaring Bridges help vs Death's Shadow and Tron, but I've found that I just like racing with Goblin Rabblemaster instead. Helps vs Scapeshift too, which has given me a lot of trouble as of late.
Two weeks ago a friend and I were talking about my recent additions of Hazoret and Rabblemaster to Skred, and he liked them so much he's now running 2x Rabblemaster and 1x Hazoret maindeck in Jund lol. They really close games out quickly, and I think with all the targeted removal these days a Rabblemaster can be hard to deal with once he starts pumping out tokens.
There's definitely something to that. I've recently started to reduce my threats to 3x copies to avoid having 1/3 my offense disappear to a badly timed Surgical Extraction. Hazoret seems like a great swap for the 4th Stormbreath. It's also just slightly less invincible than Stormbreath (surviving Damnation and Verdict, but not PtE).
I don't see much hope to outrace Eldrazi Tron with Rabblemaster, but against PW Tron it can certainly work. I'm running Berserkers instead. They don't fight Eldrazi, but they give Storm and most control deck fits, and really improve the Burn matchup (effectively, it's a 1-sided Eidolon).

On another question, how do people feel we're positioned right now? This is one of two decks I'm thinking of taking to a large tourney in a few days.
On another question, how do people feel we're positioned right now? This is one of two decks I'm thinking of taking to a large tourney in a few days.
I think we're decently positioned, Jund/Abzan and Death's Shadow are still prevalent, and maindeck Blood Moon *****s on them if you can get one to stick. We're a little slow to Burn, but we don't take any damage from our lands, and Dragon's Claw is awesome post-board. My only real struggles have been against Tron, Scapeshift, and oddly enough, Counters CoCo. The first two I'm looking to the Rabblemasters to help me race, and the latter is really just having enough removal to kill their combo pieces long enough to ult Koth.
What tournament are you playing in? There's an SCG Open here in Cincinnati this weekend; I originally had to work a double on Saturday but now I'm off so I may go represent The Hunt for Skred October!
My build is going to be a bit primitive, since I don't run Chandra ToD (don't have them). But I'm not convinced they're necessary to do what Skred does best: devour most control decks and blow-out creatures.

Nice! I'll be sure to look out for a fellow Skred player. I myself only have one Chandra; I may try to borrow one for the tournament.
I'm so glad I got my Chandras when they were $20. Probably the best $40 I've ever spent on Standard cards.
For Counters Company, I like Sudden Shock. It's fallen out of favor with Infect being obliterated (although one managed to sneak into the top 17 of the Charlotte Modern Open), but it's wonderful for picking off dorks. They also cannot generate infinite mana in response because it requires putting a counter on the Druid, which is an activated ability that isn't a mana ability.

Sudden Shock is fantastic against Infect, but I'm not convinced it's actually needed against Druid-Vizier. As someone who runs the combo (albeit in an unconventional deck, which is the main competitor with Skred for what I'm playing), any burn spell tends to be effective. You kill the Druid either while it has summoning sickness, or Vizier is on the stack. The only advantage is that Sudden Shock can interrupt mid-combo, which only matters in the odd case you were gambling and hoping that Chord or CoCo wouldn't yield a Vizier and it turns up.
I'm debating one of the SB slots between 3 cards: Blasphemous Act (good against wide decks, Eldrazi, utility versus Death's Shadow, occassional Reckoner blowouts), Spitebellows (kills most Eldrazi, Tarmogoyf, Sc.Ooze, Angler, and Titan, adds another threat against creature-light opponents), and Abrade (redundant inexpensive removal that also helps the match against things like Lantern Control, which is otherwise almost unwinnable).
Started off 4-1 in the Modern Classic in Cinci but ended up hitting some awful matchups to finish 4-4 :/ The deck was fun and felt great though. If you can dodge Eldrazi Tron the deck is solid.
