If anyone else has listened to the most recent Top Level Podcast, Mike Flores and Patrick Chapin discuss the new Reanimator decks that make use of Kari Zev's Expertise to cast both halves of Breaking and Entering, the key to avoiding that pretty impressive interaction is not putting any creatures into play, or make sure you have the mana to kill the creature in response to the Kari Zev's Expertise. Eternal Scourge naturally has protection against Kari-Zev's but don't run out a Pia and Kiran Nalaar with your 4 mana, wait for 5 mana and hold up a Skred or Bolt in case they target it.
Also Relic of Progenitus can't do anything about the 8 cards that get put into the graveyard from a fused Breaking//Entering, as the spell will get to resolve entirely before we obtain priority.
Just 5-0'd another League. Shout out to whoever was in here playing a one of Commune with Lava. I'd been meaning to test it, and finally got around to it today. The online meta seems to have a lot less combo today, as I played against mostly fair decks. Commune was good in the grindy matches.
Trinisphere is good still as well. Playing 2, and it's solid vs combo decks. Also pretty good vs Burn and little Zoo, especially with Molten Rain to set up a bit of a lock on them.

I knew someone would find a way to break the Expertises.. brilliant as it is, interactions like these creates unhealthy magic. Your points of Zev's.E is good, Scourge and walkers oughta get that hassle out of the way, but Sram's Expertise is another story. I doubt this will see much play as of now, as it pretty much is a variation of Goryo's Vengeance which seems less consistent. But if it would pick up pace, Bridge could be more important in sb.
MATCH 1 loss 0-2 vs TitanBreach
G1 & G2 i couldn't find blood moon, i feel like this match is very winnable if we land moon. but alas, after mulling to 5 looking for moon both games, i just couldn't find it. it was a real shame cause this guy aggressively avoided fetching basic forests.
MATCH 2 win 2-0 vs kitchen-table-vampires
not much to really say here.
MATCH 3 win 2-0 vs kitchen-table-pariah-reckoner-madcap-experiement-combo
this was a weird week. dunno how he got his win.
MATCH 4 win 2-1 vs BG midrange
G1 land turn 1 relic, outvalued him for a couple turns before landing a moon.
G2 got my relic discarded turn 1, he then follows it up with a turn 2 bitterblossom. i draw tons o' lands before hitting a scrying sheets to help mitigate the issue. ultimatly it came down to him winning the race at 1 life. i feel like i played a bit too greedily overall and the game was still very winnable if i had to replay it.
G3 i had a snap keep of a nigh-unbeatable 7. 1 relic, 2 mountains, 2 jets, 2 moons. he had to mull to 5. aylmao.
overall a pretty odd week, but 2 real MU's is better than 0. i liked the scourges, as expected. didn't have a good chance to try out the needles in their intended MUs tho.

ey im da commune guy! what's your list lookin like?
Regarding the new Jund Death's Shadow deck. We have a good tool vs their Traverses and Kolaghan's Command to refuel on threats with our Relics. Goyf likewise is weak vs Relic. We could realistically expect to deal with an early Shadow with Bolt or Skred. Otherwise, pressuring with Stormbreath while chumping with Thopter and Scourges seems like a plan. They cannot Fatal Push, Kommand, or Block the dragon.
Not sure I see your point. The new list only runs 1-2 Battle Rage and no pumps. If they have it and a huge Shadow, then I suppose you're dead. You could somewhat manage this by declining to attack when they are around 10 life, in order to set up a monsterous dragon turn.
Stormbreath is pretty good against shadow decks, simple because they don't run fliers and we'll be able to hit in the last damage reasonably combinded with a bolt or two. Sucks if they got terminate tho, so you could swap a dragon with a Sarkhan, but I wouldn't say it's necessary. Blood Moons are good in the matchup so in total it's not that bad at all.
If you prefer 4 P&K instead I'd recommend 2-3 bridges in sb.
Another 1-of, and it can't be tutor'd for unless they have delirium. Which, with 4 Relics, you are not playing the matchup correctly if you allow them to get delirium.
Good morning my friends (First I want to say that my English is weak, I'm sorry if I write some silly things) I'm back to show a list that I found very nice, I'm playing with it, a few days I'll have a great championship, one of the biggest I got top 8 this event from NayaBurn, I was always done by the red, aggressive, I always wanted to ride the Skred, but I had never found the snowy terrain and After winning a major championship, disappeared all the mountains in Brazilian stores and rose rapidly in price, recently closed the deck, the 3 versions, something that always pleased me in the Red was the destruction of land.
Before showing my list, I want to say something that annoys me a lot TRON and UWR, any deck with Blue, I think deer deck something else and that with Banimando da Sonda, Dath shadows to equalize should invest more, Liliana and Goyfs Something very expensive here in Brazil, 1 set of Goyf is equivalent to 2 months of wages, so they went to Valakuts, Trons and Aggros.
This is the list I want to go in the championship.
Dragons are monsters against Controls, the field has changed, only chance against Ad Nausean, Reanimator, Uwrs, Junds are breaking their lands, and it works, for you to win the tron has to come a Blood Moon or a Molten Rain, if not already , The fashion here is also the Bant Eldrazi, the deck is efficient.
On the side against Ad nausean and tron enter 11 cards. I do not mind losing to Burn, infect, I get angry when I lose to tron and ahahha controls
4 Anger is mandatory on my Field, something I wanted to put is the Bridge, at least 2 but I do not know what to take.
Goblins are scary! I advise everyone to use try! Just try!
If you're really set on running that high of a curve you HAVE to run Mind Stone for the consistent ramp. Spirit Guide is good for only a single turn where mind stone makes that top deck 2nd dragon look a lot better.
Boros Reckoner is pretty funny. Blood Moon is also a great answer, the new lists are slow enough that they're probably not dropping a massive shadow before turn 3.
Aside from that you pretty much have to race it. Out of the sideboard Ratchet Bomb or Ensnaring Bridge work well.
After some testing with my shell against Death's Shadow, I'm thinking we might need some Boros Reckoners for the matchup. The default Skred toolkit is woefully suited to fight creatures that get this large, this fast.
Ok I'm back from GP Vancouver... List is above somewhere. Made my first day 2 and finished 10-5 at 165th place in the GP despite it only being the second event i played the deck in!!!
I 6-3'd day one losing to Bant eldrazi, punted vs. elf ball, and lost to a breach titan. Beat rg tron, infect, abzan, jund, grixis delver, and merfolk.
Day 2 Beat Jund, burn, Grixis control, lost to eldrazi tron and Breach Titan(won game 1, mull to 4 game 2, mull to 4 game 3 ) and beat kiki chord combo.
I decided my list needs 23 lands so i cut batterskull for another snow-mountain. I'll do a match rundown when i get the time. I also feel like stone rain might be better than molten due to the importance of casting it ASAP vs. tron and breach. Sometimes you have to keep a hand of Snow-mountain, scrying sheets and mind stone just because you have the land destruction in hand. With stone rain you dont just lose if you fail to draw another red source.
Just my 2 cents.
i've been thinking about stone rain for a while, but have trouble passing up on the incidental damage. i still run reckoners so my list already demands alot of red mana regardless of molten rain vs stone rain, i think a list like mine is better off sticking with molten. but a sans reckoner list is better with stone
