blue tron or combo decks are really good against us. UW control and blue moon actually get stomped by us, because we have more removal, more gas, and stickier threats. Out of everything you named, Bant Eldrazi is probably the toughest matchup for us.
okosheep has betrayed us! Jk
Honestly though, I consider bant Eldrazi a great match up. I've lost to it once in maybe 12 times playing against it?
Out of your list, Dutch, I would probably recommend Burn.
When trying to figure out a deck's weakness, look to its sideboard. There's a reason many Skred lists run 3-4 Dragon's Claw.
Skred is slow. Of course, being slow is fine as long as you're slowing your opponent down as well. Decks that don't need to interact much with the board and that don't use the graveyard should be favored.
I thought Kevin took some strange lines in the semi-finals and the finals, but I'm guessing 18 rounds of magic had a lot to do with those decisions.
I like a lot of Kevin's main deck, but I think 4 Pia and Kirans / 2 Stormbreath is a better place to start than 3/3.
I noticed Rabblemaster came in against grixis in the finals but to me that seems like an extremely bad card against decks with terminate, bolt, snapcaster, etc. I know that Rabblemaster is supposed to come in against the combo decks that Skred can't otherwise interact with, but having only 2 Rabblemasters to bring in still means you're unlikely to see it.
Also on the topic of Rabblemaster, if Rabblemaster is a card we bring in against the combo decks it makes more sense to run Simian Spirit Guides over Mind Stone as a way to get a turn 2 Rabblemaster or even a turn 2 Blood Moon.
I saw Kevin's loss against UR Ascension (that matchup is probably like 90-10 in their favour) and I'm speculating that Kevin dodged Bant Edrazi completely in day 2.
Rabblemaster is INSANE against grixis. They want to take out removal because removal is bad against a 3/3 that always comes back, planeswalkers and P&K

For sure, Blood Moon shuts off most of the deck. Not being able to produce colorless is a bit of a speed bump. I even dealt with 2 Blood Moons with Engineered Explosives and still got smashed.

I watched both matches, and I totally agree. He made so many mistakes, but then again it was a high pressure situation, and spending the entire day playing magic probably burnt him out. Not knowing how ricochet trap worked, forgetting to scrying sheets, not using P&K's shocks when he could have done it for free, not bolting/swinging for lethal because he was too scared of countermagic. Swinging with a summon sickness mountain. He +1'd Chandra, exiled and Eternal Scourge and then paid 3 mana to cast it instead of letting it deal 2 damage, and then casting it from exile when his opponent was at 4.
I also think rabble is amazing against pretty much any control deck. It's a magnet for removal/counterspell, clearing the way for bigger, scarier stuff. And if it isn't dealt with, you know how easily it can end a game.
I never want any moon decks I'm playing to win, One step toward banning moon. Also did this gp stream anywhere
I don't think Moon is getting banned anytime soon. If you know your opponent has it, it's easy to play around.
Maybe I'll give P&K another shot now. I just never really liked them. They always competed with Koth and that's not a decision I want to be making. @okosheep Where are you on editing our podcast? I'm pretty excited to see how it turns out. If anybody else is down, I would love to do another recording to talk about matchups and the like.

Have people written Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker off completely at this point? I like that he can Flameslash upon entry and that he is better against Jund than Stormbreath. Of course, on the opposite side, he is weak to Path and, as a walker, does not protect himself or Koth from combat damage, whereas a Stormbreath can shield Koth if you're trying to ult. I'm currently running one Sarkhan and 2 Stormbreath in a list quite similar (mainboard) to Kevin's GP list. Thoughts?

I love that the match ended on a Koth Ultimate. Style points.
Grabbing the trophy and putting it on the table
Before the "EOT 6 you then kill you on my turn" was classy. Loved it. Burkhart is fantastic and that was his only loss all weekend
Not really, I've been thinking about running him for a while, but always end up considering Stormbreath as the better of the two. But with Parents protecting the walkers, it might be worth a shot.
This is my planned setup for bombs moving forward:
Can definately see two Sarkhans in Stormbreath's spots in this. Very few decks atm running paths to make prot-white useful, but I might miss the monstrosity trigger.
I think that Path is still something to have protection against; it's the best removal card in the format. However, Sarkhan is really good against the GB and RB based decks because he evades most of their removal and likely 2 for 1's them with burn redirect. My current configuration is 4 Koth, 1 Chandra, 1 Sarkhan, 2 Stormbreath, 2 Scourge, and a BSkull. Seems good thus far.
Also, y'all probably already know this, but since I'm getting to play with the new cards (Scourge and Chandra) for the first time, there is this sick line of play:
If Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker ends up making the deck I love that modern has a monored Superfriends list. The deck might also splash white for Nahiri, as she is the only other good planeswalker within the decks reach.
I do not want to spekulate on the 5 drop, I have little experience with the deck.
Are there many more effects that synergies with eternal scourge?
Hey guys, don't play skred red in paper but have dabled online for a long time and checked in on the primer from time to time, just wanted to say congrats on the big win, glad to see such an underage deck get recognized finaly.

Maybe Rabblemaster is good against Grixis but I can't imagine Grixis siding out Lightning Bolt or Kolaghan's Command because they don't really have any good cards to bring in. We could even see Corey at the last moment of sideboarding took out a Damnation he had momentarily sided in and put back a Lightning Bolt. Maybe it's more of a case that Rabblemaster is just a fine card to bring in against control simply because it allows us to get rid of sweepers and some less relevant spot removal.

Really? UW control is bad vs Skred? I figured a deck playing 7+ basics and ways to deal with all your threats (except Stormbreath aside from not letting it resolve) would be a rough matchup for you. Things like Detention Sphere and countermagic seem good no?

Very nice read, seems like an awesome guy. Guess I'll have to transition to P&K with Mind Stones for a bit.
By the way, is there any feedback on Ensnaring Bridges in sb against Breach and/or Suicide? Sorry if I've missed a discussion on it :|

You have 5 SC Mountains and a Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker in play. Play Koth of the Hammer, and -2 him to add 5 to your pool. Play Chandra, Torch of Defiance, leaving one spare mana. +1 her to get to 3 mana and tap your last mountain for a fourth to play Pia and Kiran Nalaar. Of the topp of my head I think Gemstone Caverns, Commune With Lava, Scrabbling Claws, Bojuka Bog, Outpost Siege, Arc-Slogger, Harvest Pyre or Serum Powder.
For the spice brewers out there (not serius suggestions): Epic Experiment.

All you need is to draw Moon and have pressure. A lot hinges on Moon. Rain and Rabble help but you don't need both to win and certainly not 4 of each.
