Hey lil_bolas, are you going to pick up any of the invocations? I know your deck is sweet and blinged out. On another note, how are your guys Fetch-shock bases working? I'm on 4 Tarn, 4 Delta, 2 Grave, 2 Vents, 1 Crypt. It's been working fine, but I was wondering if there was an optimal combination.
I will likely pick some up, but I want to see the prices first. Your Fetch-Shock configuration is optimal, sometimes I find myself wanting a second copy of Watery Grave.

That's the Fetch-Shock configuration I'm working towards (still short on Tarns), I think you can make an argument that we want an extra fetch if we start running 3+ Fatal Push but for now I'm happy with 8-5.
That said, the other relevant question here is what basics are you playing? I'm on 3 Island, 2 Swamp, 1 Mountain which is a configuration I've liked since I started playing the deck more or less.
That is the optimal configuration and amount of basics IMHO.

This is the my basic configuration as well. It's been working out really well, but sometimes I wish I have the 3rd Swamp to cast Cruel under Blood Moon, but that only comes up once in a while.
I opted out of the second Swamp for a Graven Cairns. It helps me cast more of my spells out of the board. Most notably Anger of the Gods and Gifted Aetherborn. I wanted to have the flexibility to be able to cast both of them pretty reliably and Graven Cairns made sense.
I'm also running a Sunken Ruins to help cast Cryptic Command, Countersquall, and Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir out of the board. My mana base is pretty screwed up but it works pretty well for me. I'm light on red with lots of red spells but most of my red spells don't get cast until later in the game (with exception to some early Terminates and a Lightning Bolt here and there). I try to use my Bolts to close out games rather than killing creatures most of the time.
I'm also running a strange version of the deck with Cruel Ultimatum on the board only and 3xMystical Teachings in the main so my deck is slightly different than everyone else.
How good is the deck running Gen0syde86? The list does look pretty sweet. I like the Teachings into Gearhulk package or whatever else you need to find at the time. Makes it easier to find your threats. The only thing I don't like about Gearhulk is the artifact part. I think he can get destroyed fairly easily. Has that been a problem? I suppose opponents don't side in narrow artifact removal for just two of your cards?

The deck was straight gas the other night. Cruel Ultimatum was the worst card in the deck so I moved it to the board. If you're worried about artifact removal, or spending the 6 mana on gearhulk to have him get countered, just run a 1 of Academy Ruins over 1 of the Creeping Tar Pits. The Tar Pits weren't all that good.
Also, most of the time, casting Teachings to get Consume the Meek or Slaughter Pact was great. I want to find a spot for Pact of Negation too. The best card in the board was Gifted Aetherborn. 99% of the time though, I was just casting Teachings just to tutor for value. I almost never felt like I needed to do it after the 1st Teachings resolved.
Casting Mystical Teachings for Kolaghan's Command was also a play I made quite frequently just to make my opponent discard and maybe return a Snapcaster Mage/Torrential Gearhulk or shock a creature/player. Having access to the entire deck made Teachings the best card in the deck, hands down. Being able to tutor for the exact answer all the time was amazing.
All in all, I will be playing the deck again tonight because i had a ton of fun casting Teachings and getting big ass idiot Gearhulk and smashing face. I highly suggest giving the deck a try or at least trying teachins and gearhulks. I already have an Esper list together that I'm going to try soon too

Burn was a nightmare of a matchup because there's so few answers to their spells.
I played against Abzan CoCo and that was a tough one but I was able to manage it due to Anger of the Gods out of the board along with Gifted Aetherborn and some good top decks.
Tron still feels bad but that's the reason I was running Countersquall and Crumble to Dust in the board.
Honestly, every matchup is seemingly bad but if you can manage the game in the direction you want, you should always be able to win. The deck felt under the gun in every matchup but I was able to squeeze out some wins because I forced my opponents plays and made it to the late game. If you can ever manage to get to turn 7-8, you've successfully made it to the late game without dying and there aren't many decks that can compete with you there. You have so many more powerful plays that you can make that your opponents usually can't keep up with. I was testing against Jund and he played a Choke. I thought he was going to run me over but the mana base for this deck was good enough to ignore the choke for a while until I could cryptic it back to his hands and just go off.
I don't think there's a good matchup except maybe another control deck but, I also don't think any matchup us super bad for the deck except for maybe Burn.
Yeah, I see this deck needing to hit 6 lands asap to begin its crushing dominance. You mentioned an esper build and I like that idea as well. White gets a lot more flash cards(Restoration Angel, Spell Queller come to mind) in that aspect and I could see a potentially faster deck there? Although Grixis does have a faster closing speed because of bolt. Esper brings a lot of good cards with it as well like sideboard staples and Ojutai's Command.
For the burn matchup I guess you could try Collective Brutality. I altered your list slightly by removing 1 land for the 4th Fatal Push.
Commander GUR Maelstrom Wanderer BWU Sydri, Galvanic Genius BGB Meren of Clan Nel Toth WGW Nazahn, Revered Bladesmith RRR Feldon of the Third Path WWW Heliod, God of the Sun
I never wanted the 4th push if i was also running terminates. I fealt like 6 removal spells was enough. I also cut brutality from the list because its sorcery and Gifted Aetherborn fit the deck better. K command allows you to recur the creature and in most matchups, I'm boarding out the AVs for faster or better cards so there's nothing that good to discard to brutality. Most of the spells are spells that I want to cast and flash back rather than just flashing them back.
As for the esper version, you lose out on K command and that forces you to play 1 of Academy Ruins but it's not as bad because the spells aren't as color intensive. Instead of K command though, you get esper charm which does almost the same thing but better at the discard and the card advantage. The other thing you get out of white is Sphinx's Revelation and White Sun's Zenith or Secure the Wastes
Gen0syde86 - I have to say your list is the sweetest Mystical Teachings I've seen in a long time. I've been looking for threads on Mystical Teachings and can't seem to find any, so I tried the Esper Draw-Go thread but it seems no one really plays Mystical Teachings decks there. Wouldn't mind bouncing ideas with you to keep improving the Mystical Teachings archetype.
My list I've been warping for a little while below. I sympathise with you on the burn match ups, but I feel I have a decent burn match up with the addition of cads such as Blessed Alliance and Lightning Helix. I've played Burn 3 times in testings(Boros, mono red, Naya) and have come up positive so far because of the maindeck life gain.
I played 4 friendlies the other day with this list:
2-1 vs Degenerate Combo - A deck featuring main deck Simian Spirit Guide, Chalice of the Void, Blood Moon, Goryo's Vengeance, Breaking/Entering
2-1 vs Eldrazi Tron - Path and Blessed Alliance were all-stars here
1-2 vs Esper Control - Close match and made some changes to incorporate maindeck Vendilion Clique instead of the Secure the Wastes I originally had as Clique would have really helped here.
2-1 vs Goryo's Reanimator deck - Game 3 my opponent had a double SSG > Blood Moon on turn 1 which I managed to beat which felt really cool since Blood Moon or Choke, especially turn 1 can be hell for us control players.
I was pretty happy with how the main plays out. I've opted for Kozilek's Return over Consume the Meek myself as the BB is slightly harder for me to achieve since I'm a bit higher on the W sources for the life gain cards and I also like how K-Return comes up much earlier against swarm decks. It also has a neat combo with Elder Deeo-Fiend (criminally underplayed card not just in control IMO) as an answer to a Sigarda, Host of Herons in the main. Casting the Emerge cost and sacrificing Snapcaster Mage means Elder Deep-Fiend only costs 5 mana and then you can combo Kolaghan's Command after sacrificing.
My sideboard I'm fairly happy with. I like the amount of Dredge hate I have and going through MTGSALVTION FORUMS from T1 all the way to Developing Competitive, I feel my sideboard covers every match up while crossing over into other match ups. I'm not too sure if it's worth running Consume the Meek, Hurkyl's Recall and Shadow of Doubt in the side but the rest I'm happy with. Do you think there are any silver bullets I'm missing and should be running in the side?
What's your thoughts and do you have any ideas you'd like to share or what's been good for you in testing?
I think your list is sweet but its personally not my cup of tea. I don't like 4 color control. I'm hard pressed to play 3 color because my love is in 2 color but the list is definitely flexible. I like that you have answers to pretty much everything but it's just too intense for me with that mana base.
I like the Notion Thief in the board too. I forgot about that card.
That's the deck I ran tonight. I cut the Cruel Ultimatum all together. I never felt like I wanted it.
I went 3-1 with this list.
Round 1:
2-0 against some janky brew
This was an easy win. He played a bunch of walls that didn't do anything. Teachings for Consume the Meek + Gearhulk and bolts won this match.
Round 2:
1-2 against Eggs
This matchup felt winnable if I had seen a Teachings through any part of game 3.
Game 1 - He just went off at instant speed and I didn't have an answer in hand. I was holding 3 creature removal spells.
Game 2 - I buried him in card advantage with Kolaghan's Command blowing up his artifacts and making him discard and flashing it back with Gearhulk and Snapcaster
Game 3 - I never saw a Teachings to get Notion Thief and my draws were pretty underwhelming.
Notion Thief would have won this matchup outright. Spell Snare and Countersquall were all-stars here. K command was also great but not the best.
Round 3:
2-1 against Mono Black Aggro
Game 1 - He was mana screwed and Snapcaster + Bolt alongside an Ancestral Vision was too much for him.
Game 2 - He got ahead of me on board with creatures and Liliana of the Veil and I couldn't recover. I was also shut off of a color for a few turns so I was unable to react appropriately.
Game 3 - This game was sort of a joke for me. All i did was out value him with Teachings, K command, Snapcaster, Gearhulk, and Gifted Aetherborn.
Gifted Aetherborn was decent but the card that would have been great to see against the Grave Crawler/Bloodghast deck was Anger of the Gods. I never drew it but I did Manage to Teachings into Surgical Extraction and shut him off of Bloodghasts.
Round 4:
2-0 against Infect
Game 1 - Easy win. My hand had Fatal Push, Bolt x2, and Slaughter Pact while holding a Consume the Meek. He was never able to get out from under the removal and eventually lost to Teachings + Gearhulk.
Game 2 - He maligned to 5, kept a one land Noble Hierarch hand and scooped to me playing an Gifted Aetherborn.
This matchup seems super easy. The amount of removal I play along with counter magic and big threats and Consume the Meek seems like way too much for them. Not to mention K Command and Snapcaster are still insanely strong against them. 2 damage to a creature and make them discard is basically a 2 for one the first time and a 2 for one when you snap it back. They always save the creature with a pump spell and discard a second pump spell to K Command and it feels great.
The deck ran super cold for me tonight though. I drew very little amounts of mana rounds 3 and 4. I managed to squeeze out the wins but I always felt like I didn't see enough mana early on in the games when I needed it most.
Thats all for tonight. Feel free to ask questions if you have any.
No Cruel Ultimatum? Not something we do around here.

Going back to manabases for a moment, and talking Ahmonket (Sp?) Spoilers....
So they're printing fetchable duals which always come into play tapped. We all tend to have something like Drowned Catacomb in our list to round out the numbers but these seem worth swapping in. The ability to be fetched at an end step early or be cycled late seems pretty good for any control deck...
I didn't mean you could not post here. Your deck is still mostly the same.
