What do people think of the new spoilers peudo-wrath 5 drop creature? I'd post a picture, but the English version hasn't been spoiled. Here's the text:
Cataclysmic Gearhulk 3WW
Artifact Creature - Construct
Vigilance
"When Cataclysmic Gearhulk enters the battlefield, each player chooses an artifact, a creature, an enchantment, and a planeswalker among nonland permanents he or she controls. Then, sacrifice the rest."
Something that I want to mention about my deck:
0 Chord: Chord is really a clunky card, I've played this deck for 9 months. This deck is very slow and I found that most time I lose because I fall behind in tempo and chord just screwed in my hand.0 Chord means 0 wall of roots and you don't need to go wide in the board, so you have more room for removal to interact with aggro decks.
0 2-drop toolbox creature: evo a 2 drop for another 2 drop is not very good enough.
the usage of evo: evo exiles itself, you can just use it one time, so how to use it perfectly? I think we should not using it to act as a toolbox, just using it to win(finish the combo). So there are not many toolbox creature in the deck. Just four four four four our "main creature" to improve stability.
the two import system: 8 copies of removal + witness + restoration angel
voice + evo + pia + restoration angel(voice + evo + sb creature + restoration angel)
So what I want to do is smooth the curve, improve the stability and having more interact.
last but not least: lightning bolt is a very very very very good card.

Tutorable tragic arrogance. I will give a shot to this in the sideboard.
Remember it lets the opponent choose th eir stuff.
I do think it's likely to be strong since it does a few things we want:
1) bones tribal decks
2) bones any deck with smaller creatures than us (most of them)
3) bones Bogles
It's a bit of a problem that it's horrible against Jund, although it would feel pretty good to chord it in during combat with a raging ravine / goyf.
It seems like a decent sideboard option to Evo into. It would heavily hinder decks like Scapeshift or Tron that require a lot of mana to function, meanwhile the Chord deck can keep the Hulk and another creature around to put the opponent on a fairly quick clock.
Just a small critique, Subbak. New Thalia only slows our combo for one turn. You can make Resto copies on their end step, they won't be sacrificed until the beginning of the next end step (yours).
Having played a lot of different builds of this deck I can say with a good bit of certainty that builds that play Nahiri are the most forgiving in terms of play mistakes. Having an "opps I won" button wipes away a lot of mistakes.
Evolution leads to a lot of sequencing choices and leaves both sides a lot of room to mess up. I honestly can't see myself going back to playing many or any chords any time soon. Evolution really feels like that extra push the deck needed to compete with the extra fast decks post board.
But there is power in flexibility, which makes role assessment with Kiki Chord deck a complex question. Unlike the more linear decks in the format, you have to know what you respective role is for every matchup you are playing. Within each of these matchups, you have to be able to recognize how to adjust your current game plan for how a particular game is playing out.
So, which role do I play vs abzan company? after playing all those games, I feel like their combo is faster than ours so we should be control/combo while they are aggro/combo.
Voice evolving into pia and kiran, or resto blinking pia and kiran was almost always a bad plan because if they cast orzhov pontiff, most of our board gets killed, so the "value" plan is quite weak (and folds to the life combo)
If I were to play against abzan coco again, I would go for the combo (because that way we can deal an arbitrarily large amount of damage) while not rushing it (reads: don't completely tap out if you have path in hand). With resto angel I want to blink wall of omens and eternal witness (to find/get back my paths) and definitely not pia and kiran. Does this gameplan seem legit to you guys? Something that I'm missing?
We didn't play sideboarded matches (which is something that I'll try to do next time) but I would swap:
+2 lightning helix (additional removal for viscera/melira/anafenza)
+1 linvala
Don't really know if vulshok sorcerer and sin collector are worth it here. I'm definitely not tutoring those, so it would just be value creatures if I drew them.
-1 pia kiran
-1 selfless spirit (they will bring path to exile from the sideboard so this card does literally nothing... except for orzhov pontiff, which shouldn't be that much of a trouble now)
-1 obstinate baloth (4 life is quite irrelevant)
-1 archangel of tithes
I think that, while qasali is not impressive here, I want to leave it in the maindeck in case that my oponent sides in some kind of phyrexian revoker/tidehollow sculler tech.

No... Unfortunately it's only about non-land permaments... So, it's actually not a real Cataclysm... Which obv would have been waaayyy to strong.
Ah, my mistake, I missed that part, in that case I'd say it probably has very limited applications for us.
You are generally the control deck against Abzan Company. Bring in all your removal and your cuts seem fine. I don't mind sorcerer because it interacts with their combo. While you don't care about them gaining infinite life, you DO care about them scrying whenever they want.
Kiki is definitely the control deck. Witness path is primary key to victory and sticking try the first scooze is important. Many games are decided by the ooze.
For people playing with the black splash , how many rhinos do you guys are playing, If running more then one is right add a second black mana source?
if so , which are the best options besides overgrown tomb?
I've been running 2 rhinos (basically I want to increase the chance of actually drawing one occasionally, rather than always evo it out)
I'm running 1 godless shrine in addition to the overgrown tomb. It helps pad out the colour needs of the deck.
Don't know whether it's correct or not. I've certainly found rhino to be better than baloth in basically every matchup besides abzan/Jund. If abzan continues to be massive, consider baloth instead.

Modern: G Tron, Vannifar, Jund, Druid/Vizier combo, Humans, Eldrazi Stompy (Serum Powder), Amulet, Grishoalbrand, Breach Titan, Turns, Eternal Command, As Foretold Living End, Elves, Cheerios, RUG Scapeshift
Sooo...word on the street is Madcap Experiment goes well with Platinum Emperion. Could a good version of the deck run 4 eldrict evolution, 4 nahiri, 4 Madcap Experiment and 3 or 4 Platinum Empiroim.
It just seems like a good 4 drop against burn for instance. Nahiri can discard copies of P.E. The deck has a severe disadvantage against gravediggers cage but othervice it seems good. Plan a) get to 4 mana. Plan b combo out.

I have dyslexia, no I am not going to spell check for you, yes you have to live with the horrors of it.

I am not sure it should be slaped dashed into every red deck that can pull off a 4 mana drop. But boy is it big for it's cost. Like the big verison of Goyf. It has an imediate impact on your life total if it is threatened. And it dodges bolta and abrupt deckay. Sadly he does not dodge path. (And we can not use spellskythe to come around it.)

People constantly understand the cost of having multiple cards that are a fourth color in this deck. It gets less free with every card you add. I think Baloth is much better than Rhino not only against Liliana decks, but because that fourth point of life is very important against Burn as well.
From my testing I agree with those points. Like jeff said the cost to fetch to play the rhino frequently means you arent gaining enough life back to have the burn. Also their is the tiny chance that you path a reality smasher and discard baloth

I played 4/5 games against abzan company today (my list for reference: http://deckstats.net/decks/2563/561200-kiki-chord-v1/en) and I don't really know which role I played there.
As Jeff Hoogland said in his primer:

Madcap Experiment puts the artifact into play before it deals you damage. Read Platinum Emperion.
But loosing Spellscyte and sideboard options might not be worth it.
Not to mention just being easier to cast.
