I'm surprised that the primer doesn't make a mention of LIngering Souls, possible the best WB card in modern. It isn't the best card for out specific gameplan but so many decks are cold to it, like infect, affinity and Jund (without pulse). I think it is worthy of consideration
You are right, I didn't give it a specific card section, although it is in one of the decklists that is in the primer. I'll go in and add that the next time that I update it so that it is easier to find the info than scrolling through over 75 pages of discussion.
Had similar thoughts but in BW direction.
The problem I see - much more I think of 1-2 Color martyr much more I understand that I have to play Enchantments which aren't good against Nahiri that's why they will be dead cards against half of metagame.
And that's why I'm still in Mardu colors. Mardu colors give us a lot of options instead of Ghostly prisons and Leylines of sanctity.
Also I wanna give a try for few Hide / Seek in SB but have a big problem how make my 75 cards look good.
For now I came for this list:
Put out Side Kami of false hope bcs we have more mainboard removal against Infect and aggro/swarm decks.
Cut 1 Crackling doom bcs we have more Answers for Nahiri-Emmi combo.
Add 1 Linvala, keeper of silence against midrange decks like Melira, BGx and etc.
Want to cut Curse of death's hold bcs there're not much decks left that it can hate.
Want to change surgicals for Nihil spellbomb (2) and 1 other SB card but I wanna have options against tron decks.
I think better show people 2- and 3- color Martyrs as much more interesting decks for wide auditory.
Also sideboard in that list is a weird. Mainboard is more or less okay.
People in Moscow started playing (or become more popular) in Moscow after appearing Mardu Martyr with Nahiri.
Thank you for you report
It's really nice that you won RG Breach - on of our worst match ups =)
Also meta looks really nice - most of games are +.
And what do you think about Curse of Death's Hold? I wanna cut it bcs there's no Melira and Elves decks nearby.
Some report from yesterday daily.
First game was against UWR aggro. Pretty easy 2-0.
Second game against Lantern control. 2-1
First lost without any good hate against this deck.
Second game I kept good hand with a lot of removals for bridge and won.
Third game was pretty close - couldn't draw any 1 hate for single bridge through 2 lanterns =(
Third game was against Jund. 2-0
Nahiri and our other grind cards do really much.
Fourth game against Kiki Cord with Eldritch Evolutions. 1-2
Lost first game. Opponent s was grinding really hard and I casted 2 or 3 Wrath of god in a row to ult my Nahiri and... He stole it =(
Found Reveillark and outgrind me getting Kiki Combo. (Witness, Cord and Kiki were in grave)
Second game killed him with 6/6 Ascendant in early game.
Third game kept pretty nice hand with hate. Tapped on Linvala on turn 4 but opp had already all his combo and PtE in hand =(
I think I wanna cut Curse of Death's Hold and Blood baron of Vizkopa for 1-2 Gideon Jura and add single Ugin, the spirit dragon against theese midrange decks.
Totally disliked Nihil spellbomb - Surgical extraction is our all.
Also I think Crackling doom is not neccessary anymore - KikiCord DEcks will kill Infect and Burn decks in meta - they play with them really good. Add to that Jund and we get Midrange.meta.deck.
To be clear, new version of deck I see like this:
There really isn't a major strategic difference between W and BW, so if you can afford marsh flats there is no reason to not build BW and then have the options that black provides. If the given metagame doesn't require the tools that black has to offer then you can at that point still play mono white.
To be honest orzhov charm is great all of the time so I have never came to that conclusion myself, but others have.
Match 1: Goblins
Game 1: On the draw, quickly lost because I played lingering souls turn 3 instead of ghostly prison against a board of only 2 creatures and got blown out
Game 2 and 3 Standard Martyr Proc plan for the win
1-0
Match 2: Affinity
Game 1: 2x Ghostly prisons to stabilize wrath to clean up and win
Game 2: I curved out a Stony Silence, he curved out Ghirapur, Aether Grid, I curved out Ghostly Prison and had me on the ropes until he tapped out to activate all of his man lands to ping me for 3 damage with grid and I cast Fracturing Gust for 20 life (taking my two enchantments with it). I followed up the next turn with a stony silence and OP scooped.
2-0
Match 3: UWr Soulfire
Game 1: Bad draws/mana screw, maryr beats didn't get there
Game 2: I stabalized forcasting hussar off the back of lingering souls and activated an ascendant for the win
Game 3: I once again was in topdeck mode looking for lands, just didn't find any in time lost to Secure the Wastes. (Its notable that I had ghostly prison in hand the turn before I lost, but kept it for want of a martyr activation - didn't see the STW coming)
2-1
Match 4: COCO Bant (I didn't see any combo, so basically just good stuff bant)
Game 1: Lost Somehow, I don't remember
Game 2: I stabilized at 3 life with back to back martyrs on full grips, wrathed and ascendant for the win
Game 3: Again I stabilized really late, one martyr activation to get to 23, the martyr got surgicaled. I got a second ghostly prison in play and recovered with a top decked Blood-Baron to tip over the 30 life mark, activating a couple ascendants and winning with lethal on turn 4 of turns.
General observations:
Having ALL the 1/1 fliers is awesome. Sky hussar was awesome in the 1 game I saw it.
Not having all the wraths is not as awesome. I will probably go up to 3 main, but definitely going to have the fourth side.
I never got to do anything with Ayli, even post-board when I had two. I only ever saw it eat a bolt.
I never cast Elspeth
Blood-baron is awesome
I don't generally play with Orzhov Charm, not really sure why. Didn't miss it tonight.
This is total I think. Decided that after I played him 4-1 League and 3-split to prises on daily. World queller is fiery card. Loved him very much <3
Do a lot against most decks in our metagame except aggro decks. (but is usefull against them too)
Congrats with good results =)
About your list^ why you play 3 Stony and 2 Fracturing gust? And Celestial purge with Anguished looks strange too - they do they same mostly.
So the answer is probably that sideboarding is my weakest part of tournament play. In addition to the fact that I find boarding with martyr proc extremely difficult.
The specific answers are probably:
1. Fracturing gust is really my boggles hate card - but against affinity in this configuration I have 5 slots: -elspeth, -bloodbaron, -ayili, -2 sky hussar
2. Similarly, my thought on running the anguished unmaking was against a u/w planeswalker control deck where purge is dead and I have literally no other option outside of the parasite.
I expect it's not optimal. But I generally play the "how do I feel now" sideboard plan, and don't stick to a prescribed method. I'm working on it, but I don't get a ton of tournament practice to learn.
Pros
1. puts us closer to 30 life mark off the bat
2. white for martyr
3. Could be synergistic with a Sorin, grim Nemesis win con
Cons
1. Bad in multiples in opening hand
2. Dead if we are already winning
3. Misers card if less than 3/4 in deck
4. an early martyr is likely worth more life
Its probably not good - perhaps allows for a different deck archetype (i.e. not martyr, that happens to utilize ascendant and or ayli).
@jagallout Wizards has a list of cards that are so bad they can be put in any limited or standard format without breaking it or bieng too strong. These cards tend to be awful. This was confirmed to be one of those cards.
I've been cleaning up my local win a box for a while using my same list I always use. Here's what I've been running. Now that it's modern season again I will look to start tuning and testing.

Crucible of worlds in main for Ugin, the spirit dragon and Nahiri, the harbinger with 23 lands, return 3 Surgical extraction.
Gideon Jura has really nice synergy with Nahiri, the harbinger and nice card against Midrange decks. Also denies Kiki combo.
