Its not the worst. If you can win the game quickly, the mana bump doesnt matter. If it can enable Nacatl, E1, Kytheon, combo as a real deal, might very well be worth looking at. Its a steep price I wont deny that, but it at least doesnt crap on you like Scythe tiger does.
Anyone have any special cards they like to board in against Death & Taxes? I always feel like boarding in a ton of removal but have the feeling that we should be the aggressive deck instead of the controlling deck in the matchup with Naya Company.
I'm on tribal zoo with rhinos and geists so our strategies are at least similar although I am more vulnerable to ghost quarters. I don't have grim lavamancer in the sideboard but if I did I would expect him to earn his money back in this match. Qasali is a really flexible guy in this matchup as well given his ability to snipe golem tokens and vials. I do bring in 2 scoozies here because of his implications in a creature mirror.
In this match I am planning on killing arbiter's on sight but otherwise just have the thing I spend x mana on be bigger / better than the thing the other guy spends x mana on. Sometimes I get wisp+strangler wombo combo'd and lose but more often then not things are fine.

I just prefer Tarmogoyfs. Sinking mana into scooze is a good way to find yourself staring down a juicy Flickerwisp target.
Even with an Arbiter in play, Knight is ridiculous if you have at least two lands in the GY.
I know I literally post roughly the same 75 every time but they change -- I swear.
Dromoka's Command was better than expected -- just given at how good it is at making your Smiters kill just about everything. Dec in Stone was quite good when dredge was seeing play -- but we're seeing a lot less of that -- so I'm probably going to play a second DCommand. Kor Firewalker would be anything else but people like Skred at my shops. It would probably be a 2nd Mindcensor otherwise.
Haven't had the opportunity to board in Hazoret vs. DS but Joe Herrera was playing it in Jund for the DS matchup this weekend at side events in DC and it looked sick.
What did everybody think of Gerry Thompson's "Death Shadow Zoo" video set on SCG last week?
I think his deck list is interesting and it does something I've been wanting to incorporate for a while, it brings in one of the best 1 drops that we don't currently play. I'd like to explore what we could do to make this concept better, but as a starter I love the inclusion of Renegade Rallier. Perhaps looking at this direction may breath some more life into our Zoo community!
Hi. I'm completely new to this deck. I wanna try the tribal deck because of the midrange feeling it can have with the reach. How do you think the new card Chart a course will be in it ??

Bad.
You don't want to spend turns drawing cards when you could be killing your opponent. Spells like Collected Company or Tribal Flames are fine since they impact the board and apply pressure. Additionally, most planeswalkers do the same.
I doubt it does much. Its 3/3 for 3 (already worse than most things) Evasion is nice. The ability doesnt get us there vs decks with few creatures, one big finisher, or no creatures.
Closest card in this set to being playable is Old-Growth Dryads. It doesnt matter if you give them a land if you kill them on the next turn, so it might be useable in bushwacker lists. Not so great if its a long game, so normal small or bigger zoos wont love it.
Deathgorge Scavenger Was almost perfect for us, if it did counters. A 4/3, attack for 5/4 would be extremely playable, while also having a valid life gain option.
The point of the black splash is to help shore up some of the combo matchups where Collective Brutality really shines, specifically these Druid combo decks. The mana can feel a little clunky sometimes, but so far it's been fair in testing. It's been much better than splashing blue for negate in my opinion. I however have not yet decided if it's better than just the straight up Naya builds so far. Need more testing before I can reach a conclusion.

Hm.
Maybe.
I played Anafenza the Foremost in Dark Naya CoCo builds when dredge was in fashion. She's fine. Maybe Collective Brutality is quite good -- not sure if it helps Scapeshift as much as I'd like it too. The Abzan, Grixis, and Jund players always rave about it vs. Company Combo and it's fairly obvious.
Man, I really wanna build a deck of this archetype in paper (been toying with it on MTGO lately), with goyfs included, but they're so expensive. Just out of curiosity, have goyfs become less common in zoo decks now that Fatal Push exists? Have they lost some of their relevance?
Been playing Zoo for about 6 months and am gearing up for a team tourney. I've been playing mostly traditional Big Zoo (1st list) but have been seeing more and more lists popping up running Rallier + Seal, with no Bolts (2nd list). I'm considering switching to a mix of the two strategies, with some interesting maindeck inclusions: Thalia HC, Magus, Rhonas (3rd list). Any feedback? (All included lists are netdecked but are very close to what I've been running)
I've been thinking about a Blood Moon Zoo deck for a couple weeks now. My high end has the requirements of being 5/xs so they can trade profitably with Smashers and Tasigurs.
I played a PPTQ with CoCo Zoo and went 3-3. 2-0 Bant Humans, 2-0 Boggles, 1-2 Bant Eldrazi, 0-2 Ad Naus, 1-2 UR Storm, 2-0 Burn.
My combo opponents killed me on turn 4 through disruption all the games they won. My Bant Eldrazi Opponent stabilized game 3 and had a Drowner lock for a couple turns. I never drew one of my 6 post board removal spells and I died.
Hey everyone! I'm a new modern player and have recently been messing with a revolt zoo deck, which I really enjoy! At the moment, my deck looks like the following:
Overall, I've been really pleased with my main deck's results but wanted to pick your brains as to if the sideboard is any good. I will be playing in an MTGO league this weekend and wanted to see if this sideboard would help with the current meta and our weak matchups.

No.
There is no budget equivalent for Goyf.
They're also cheaper now than they've ever been.
Pony up or play Bushwacker or 1-drop Zooo.

Dat wombo combo can just destory the game at 4 mana if they are tapped out.
It looks like a more red heavy small zoo build.
