Well, he's running Deglamer which does most of what Naturalize does but better (because of not only doing better vs regeneration, but also vs indestructible and vs graveyard-users)
Do you guys know what we are missing from the primer's first/main page? Stompbee's "Collected Stompany/Super Hyper Stompy" build thing. Where is that list? The one with 4x Boggart Ram Gang, 4x Ground Breakers, mana dorks for acceleration, 4x LBB, etc. That list would be sweet with Rhonas. He doesn't have a link in his signature either

Awesome thanks dude. I know I got really excited when this list came out and I don't know why it isn't on the first page of the primer under the variants section. As far as piloting it, I remember there being some discussion about EOT coco's and hitting a Groundbreaker and it then just dying but I think there was a technicality when you look at the oracle text it states sac it at the beginning of the end step so it would live to see one combat phase and die at the beginning of YOUR end step if I remember correctly.

That is correct. Since "at end of turn" triggers trigger at the beginning of the end step, the time for those triggers is past when we have priority in the end step to cast Collected Company. Makes a nice trick and a good chance to load the board for a final swing with more hasters the next turn. I think the most fun time was casting company at EOT and getting 2 Groundbreakers off of it with 1 already in hand + Aspect.
Hello!
I always liked the stompy archetype, and I was lurking this thread in order to find some suggestions.
When Greenwheel Liberator was printed, I've thought of stompy again.
The main issue with this kind of deck is the absence of interaction with the opponent, so I was thinking about a BG version; I've not tested it yet, but let me know what you think and what is your experience:
This is obviously a sketch, maybe we can use more 1-drops, like Nettle Sentinel and/or Young Wolf.
It is also a different take, because it cannot go with an all-in big damage turn like stompy usually do.
16 Fetches for only 7 targets looks a littler weird. Also, why not play a singleton Dryad Arbor to fetch out in the late game?

WoTC, thank you for finally announcing the Modern format, an eternal format where everyone can participate.
Hello!

Ooh, nice to see another BG stompy list. I have also been using a version similar to that.
You list looks good. There are too many fetch lands though, 8-10 of them are fine. I use 8 fetch in a 22 land manabase, and only experienced mana screw one time out of approximately 20 games. Please don't add Nettle Sentinel or Young Wolf. Those are not very good cards for this deck. You might want to add Tasigur, the Golden Fang as a singleton. There's enough fetch and spells to support one or two of him now. Already tested him in real games, and he kicks butt.
If you're going to play with Narnam Renegade, you need to be playing at least 8 fetches and probably 4 Horizon Canopy too.
Used Horizon Canopy a lot when my Stompy was still mono green. They are an awesome top deck to sac in the mid-game, but can be bad if even one appears in the opening seven. One or two in the deck is the good number for them in my opinion.. based on testing.
Had to ditch the canopies after turning my deck to the BG version though.. because there's now more lifeloss from fetch and shock.
I've given a hard look at Gemstone Mine as backup revolt enabler in multicolor decks with revolt cards. It requires a little deliberate planning though - on T1 you'll have to decide whether you want to drop the Mine with designs on tapping it the third time on T3 and benefitting from the revolt (or at least tapping it T1 and T2 then leaving it up for Fatal Push), or else play a different land early and play the Mine later to try to have it NOT go away early.
(not like you're popping Horizon Canopy for revolt enabling any sooner than T3 anyway)
Oh, fetching IS better. But in a multicolour build without white, I'd supplement the fetches with Gemstone Mine sooner than I would resort to Horizon Canopy.
It also helps that I own Gemstone Mines and don't own Horizon Canopies.
I just got back into MtG in January and after starting to build Burn and playing it over the last months iam looking
to build Green Stompy as my second deck.
After looking through this awesome Primer I started to settle on a provisory list to then adapt the deck while playing
instead of brewing and tinkering for days without any "real" results.
Right now iam planning on playing a list with a little white splash like this:
Are there any obvious mistakes in my list or is it fine to start from there?
As of now I prefer the 3 Damage from fetch+shock to play Path over 4 Damage to myself
from running Dismember because i need to use the Fetchlands anyways to turn on Revolt
and allowing a wider Range of white SB Cards. Should i cut the Aspects and replace them with other pump spells?
But thats where i feel that things get tricky, i am not really sure about which SB Cards
would suit my deck the best. At my LGS the most played decks are by far Grixis Delver/Ctrl,
Burn and Tron stuff, so i feel quite confident about running 3xFeed the Clan,
one Thrun, the Last Troll and 2-3 artifact hate cards.
How much Graveyard Hate is needed to add to the Militants and the Ooze? Is it worth it to
to put in 2 Rest in Peace? What about Dromoka's Command? That would leave me with 6 more spots to fill..
Any recommendations would be really appreciated
I feel like the deck leaves way more room for customized lists then the usual streamlined 75 Burn Cards
which i really love Already thinking about squeezing in one Become immense and Hooting Mandrills
Has anyone tried those out?

We do lose 3 life from fetch + shock untapped. However, we no longer lose 4 life from Dismembers. So that sort of balance things out.
There is still enough green devotion for the Aspects to be good. But if you feel like testing.. one of the aspects can be replaced with a become immense.
Defnitely add in at least 2 Rest in Peace in the side. I have found out long ago that against an opponent with a deck that can fight grave hate.. "anti-synergy" of ooze and RIP rarely becomes an issue... because most likely my opponent has killed the ooze before I can play the RIP... or my opponent has got rid of the rip before I could find an ooze. That's my experience with the deck, take it with a grain of salt.
For lifegain. Timely Reinforcments can be tested, since you have white now.
Hey Fluffy,
While I was gathering some Windswept Heaths again, the realization came in my mind that I can splash every colour with those fetches. Like, I don't have to invest a cent in enemy dual land if I want to splash blue or black, as long as we do not play any basics other than green.
Earlier in the thread I put black as a splash out of the question due to the insane price of those enemy dual lands. Now I'm reconsidering that choice since it's more affordable than I thought.
I wonder how your version of your deck looks like, as you looks to have the most experience among us regarding splashes.
If I get it correctly you play with one Tasigur, a bunch of Oozes, some Narnam Renegade and 3 to 4 Pushes. Do you play some Abrupt Decay as well?
Yes, you can splash black even only with khans fetches. As long as those fetch can get green.
Oh, and I don't have any experience on blue and red. Only for the GW and GB.
Please note, my deck and sideboard are tailored to fight decks in our LGS meta. What works for me, might not work for you. Here's what it looks like now. The Putrefy is for the Eldrazi Tron that someone brings every week, kills eldrazi and smash their chalice. Night's Whisper, Nissa, and Tasigur helps keep the deck going in the mid game. And I have plenty of grave hate because Grixis Shadow is very much a thing here.
Yes, you can splash black even only with khans fetches. As long as those fetch can get green.
For this purpose, you could even get away with the Khans fetches that can fetch Swamps, too. If you wanted to run >8 fetches and not get enemy-fetches, you could run Bloodstained Mire or Polluted Delta and crack that into your Overgrown Tomb or your singleton basic swamp.
Oh, that's a really interesting and uncommon list you have
Does Oran-Rief, the Vastwood really see play? I'm quite doubtful about the real efficiency of this one.
By the way, why do you run Putrefy over Fatal Push? Regarding the frequency where you can trigger Revolt, I do think Push is strictly better, whatever your meta may be.
Thanks for sharing your list by the way. I'll think of a list that can fight in my own local metagame. ^^
(Really aggro heavy with a bunch of affinity, zoo and burn decks)
Thanks. I'm still in the process of tuning the list.
Oran, Rief the vastwood - I've used this card since the start. Almost took it out for a 3rd quagmire. I also thought the card was bad, but glad that I gave the card a chance because it proved good enough in actual games, so I'm keeping it in. Helped me win a game against Monkey Grow. Actually tempted to put in a second Oran-Rief.. unfortunately, there's no more room for a second one. All green creatures in the deck like it, has strong synergy with constrictor, avatar and nissa tokens, and gives our small creatures the much needed size boost when things reach the mid game. When Strangleroot geist comas back from it's undying, oran-rief can be activated to give the geist another counter.
Constrictor is in competition with Avatar for slots. Well, the avatar is more aggressive while the snake is more supportive, so a 3-1 split for now, might change later. Inquisition is a helpul card, and there are more discard in the side that can come in if I'm facing a valakut or Burn deck - but those decks are on the decline in my meta, so 3 discard in the main is enough for now.
Push vs Putrefy in my meta? Push cannot kill Drowner of Hope, Reality Smasher, Tasigur, Gurmag Angler, Hooting Mandrills, Endbringer, basilisk collar. When a Tron deck slams down a Batterskull.. Fatal Push can only kill the germ, while Putrefy will smoke the Batterskull itself. And more importantly, Push easily get's hosed by chalice of the void, a very commonly used card by Eldrazi decks here in my meta. I think they even have chalice in the main now, because I see it even in game one. While it's true that push is better in a larger field.. over here I need the unconditional kill and artifact destruction that putrefy provides.
Anyway, your area seems to have plenty of small creatures that Fatal Push can hit - so 3 Push in the main might be good if you're splashing black.
*The suggestions below are if you have a rather stagnant local meta game.* Creeping Corrosion hoses affinity and lantern control at my LGS, a couple of Fog usually are enough to out race Zoo, and Kitchen Finks is a burn player's worst nightmare (mine at least when I'm piloting burn). If not Finks then good ol' Feed the Clan usually does the trick.
Just noticed that you were/might be splashing black. In that case collective brutality is a savage beating vs. Burn. Flaying Tendrils is also a well positioned sweeper right now as it deals with Abzan Company, all the Burn creatures, and the occasional Elves deck that pops here and there.

4x Noble Hierarch
1x Reverent Hunter

1x Creeping Corrosion
3x Dismember
2x Kitchen Finks
2x Natural State
1x Reclamation Sage
1x Scavenging Ooze
2x Spellskite
1x Unravel the Aether
I have had some pretty decent success with it over a few fnms, although fatal push makes it a bit harder these days.
The zero rancor was due mainly to lots of targeted removal in my meta and too many 2-for-1s. Completely a meta call.
