Made some matches and now it seems to work, a bit faster than classic stompy with narnam and elephant but aoh is still a probable win condition. Now I'm testing some SB options, Heroic Intervention could be an interesting card we'll see. Advices are welcome

Hello there Tech, may I ask what exactly do you want to know? If you tell why you're running that specific list, people on the forum might help you. We normally think "yeah it's another take on stompy, probably good for his/her meta" when we see a bunch of core stompy cards.
How has Fog and Skylasher helped you? I own both just never thought of using them. Fog seems like it could be useful against Eldrazi but does it help enough?
How did you like the Skylashers? Did they provide you with profitable blocks/attacks?
Would I like 2-3 more one drops? Yes! But they haven't been printed yet. We have to be patient. I am confident that one drop will come, it will.be green or split mana like Dryad. Be two power without jumping through hoops. And won't sacrifice the core benefit of a painless, bloodmoon resistant manabase. Basically if you are trying to shove narnam renegade into stompy please go play wasteland viper it's actually a better card for our game plan.
Relic < Tormods
Do you know what's better than drawing a card from relic? Not being dead to reanimator, living end, knightfall, gifts storm, suicide jund, etc because you couldnt find the 2 mana in time to cast relic and pop it. You are stompy you have 21 lands and many games are decided on the first 10 mana you use. You don't have time to spend 20% of your resources on relic.
Sky Slasher are the real deal. MVP vs anything blue + infect, affinity. Ill go more into detail in my report covering my wins vs infect and affinity. skylasher is all star. You can also look at my post history as I've faunned over them in more detail before.
Firstly, I do like that Narnam Renegade can be a 2/3, 1 more toughness helps (Snapcaster, Thalia, Goblin Guide, etc.). I think the decision to play Narnams depends on personal taste, meta call and accessibility to fetches. I own 7 fetchlands in mtgo and I play with them, in paper I don't have any but I would still play them as a playset, however there are no modern paper tournament around where I live so I cannot test them. So, basically Narnam's pros outweigh its cons for me, hence I play them as a playset. In my opinion, the reason Narnam Renegade is better than Wasteland Viper is simply Narnam being a better creature than the Viper. Surely Viper can also be a combat trick but stompy already has a plenty of tricks available to it already.
You might be correct about Tormod's Crypt for reanimator, living end and gifts storm but I don't think Relic of Progenitus is too slow for knightfall and suicide jund. Again, both has their advantages and disadvantages I guess.
I've never tried Skylashers myself but I can see them being quite strong in a infect&affinity meta. Curious to hear how it worked out.
Tokaok, congrats on the result and thanks for sharing your list!
I'm in the Tormod's crypt camp for graveyard hate. So nice to still curve out while disrupting their plan.
I might give Tormod's a look as well as Skylasher. I honestly believe Narnam Renegade is a damn useful card. Even if it doesn't proc often, when it does, it pairs great with Avatar of the Resolute. I use them fairly defensively and with Rancor on them they can be deadly while attacking.
I went 6-3 at the classic in Indy this past weekend. I'll try to write more. I had a terrible terrible sideboard, and didn't mulligan enough. I'll try to post something more in depth later with a list and matchups and brief notes. Keep the dream alive fellow stompers!
Hello there, Newbie to this thread. Today I decided to undust and tinker with my monogreen stompy deck and go to my Weekly modern event with it. Went 3-1 and got second place.
I want to point out that the sideboard was kind of rushed. Would definitely like some recommendation here, but let me say that Deglamer and Unravel the Aether were fantastic and allowed me to win against tron today. I also wanted to try Skinshifter and Kitchen finks mainboard, and while I have my doubts about the finks, I liked Skinshifter a lot tonight. Here's a quick rundown of the match-ups.
Round 1 vs Monogreen Stompy (on the play)(2-1): All three games were close games. Closed the first game thanks to Skinshifter's ability to fly, otherwise I would have lost. Second game he got the perfect play of Experiment one to Strangleroot geist to Leatherback Baloth to another Baloth. I badly traded a boosted Strangleroot geist on combat with Experiment one thinking he had to remove the +1/+1 counters before damage to regenerate. Last game I pretty much won because I had two Rancor and two Dismember.
Side-in/out: Removed my two Scavenging Ooze for a Bow of Nylea and a Fog. Drawed the fog game three but did not need it. Did not draw the bow, and I think I'm gonna cut it as it require too much mana.
Round 3 vs G/B Eldrazi (On the Play (1-2): Lost game 1, which took freaking 30 minutes! Our boards were crazy big, but I could not attack because of his Reality Smasher and Tireless Tracker, and I was blocking him like a boss with Skinshifter. Unfortunately, when I had enough creatures to both block and attack with a rogue flyier, he got Abrupt decay and then got a Spellskite which screwed over the couple Aspect of Hydra/Rancor I drew after. Game 2, blasted him out of existence with Skinshifter with Rancor, first assault as a 6/4 trampler, second as a 8/6 Flyer. Game three I mulligan to 6 and keep a one lander with very good two drops, scry no land, and stay stuck at one land until I die... Yep... Should have listened to the golden rule: "Never keep a hand with one land".
Side-in/out: two Deglamer for two Kitchen Finks. Did not see them.
Round 4 vs G/W Goodstuff (One the Draw)(2-0): First game was tight. Point of his deck was to have lots of dual color creature like Voice of Resurgence or Qasali Pridemage to then boost with Noble Hierarch, Gavony Township and wilt-leaf Liege. I would basically have had to trade a creature each turn to prevent a qasali from poking me of 7 IF it wasn't for Skinshifter's Ability to become a 0/8 wall. The same Skinshifter helped me poke for game thanks to his flying ability. I freaking love this card. Game two was more smooth, he mulligan to 5 and I just proceed to swarm almost unchallenged.
Side-in/out: Just added my Gut Shot to deal with his mana dorks.
So yeah. The deck is super fun and fast. Pobably gonna work a bit on it and try it again next week. I think I seriously want to make this one of my main modern decks. Feel free to recommend/criticize my picks. I'm more than willing to try new stuff and take some tips. I'm sure there's a lot I still don't know on this deck.
Nice work on round 4 against the GW deck. Oh, and being a bit greedy on one landers can go either way.. sometimes we find land, sometimes we don't and lose. Anyway, you still had good results, so congrats.
I like seeing lists like yours. It's still Stompy, but the list is a little bit personalized. What's the reason for the maindeck finks.. plenty of Burn decks in your area? Skinshifter was a good card when it was in Standard years ago, but I didn't expect someone using it for modern. Looks like his ability to fly served you well.
And lastly, I would suggest trying out the Narnam Renegade. All he needs 5-6 fetches to trigger revolt a bit reliably. Even if the revolt cannot be always triggered, he can still trade with creature bigger than himself because of the deathtouch ability.
Would I like 2-3 more one drops? Yes! But they haven't been printed yet. We have to be patient. I am confident that one drop will come, it will.be green or split mana like Dryad. Amen.
I'm glad to know I'm not alone in my views on Narnam Renegade. The price is considerable (gameplay price, not financial - I own fetches) and yet people treat it like it's nothing. And the payoff is not even close to worth it.
Wait wait wait the same guy that thinks Narnam is worse than Wasteland Viper thinks Skylasher is good? Not surprised. Why the hell is Skylasher worth it? Because you have flash it in to block 1/3 of infects creatures? Isn't siding in removal or Spellskite just better than just playing bad cards.... Also if you think Wasteland Viper is comparable to Narnam you need to play the friggin card. Experiment and Avatar become so much better now and Narnam makes some hard blocks for your oppponents. Rancor is better now.... The card makes this deck better... Ohhh wait the dude likes Skylasher- a card that can catch some people by surprise- that would make sense why they like Wasteland Viper.... Ugh.. Disappointed as usual.
you can drop a 2/3 with deathtouch on turn 1 if you get a fetch in your opening hand. It's just gross. Also hoses Goblin Guide, Spellskite, and can make several other dudes bigger... over several turns. Wasteland Viper only works once, and that's only if you don't play it as a creature.
... also with fetches I can run Path to Exile which has saved my ass many times (and you end up taking way less damage for the splash than using Dismember) + sideboard tech, etc.
@MistermuffinI like seeing lists like yours. It's still Stompy, but the list is a little bit personalized. What's the reason for the maindeck finks.. plenty of Burn decks in your area? My Meta is pretty much 30% burn deck, from the pure mono red to naya colors and all in between. I'm actually surprised I did no see one that day as three player had burn deck out of ten. Other than that, Infect is still a thing here and Eldrazi is also pretty popular. Theres two-three players who like control-type decks, but otherwise we're pretty much all aggro in our strategies. I had a stompy deck with no sideboard for a while now and decided to finally put some work into it and try some out-of-the-ordinary card/choices
The Kitchen finks mainboard were a meta call. However I don't think I need them mainboard. They're gonna go in the side if they stay at all. Probably gonna go with Feed the Clan
Also, Skinshifter was amazing. It's definitely slower than our classic two-drops though, I'd even consider it a three drop for good mesure since you need to dedicate a mana to its ability, but gosh did it save me way more than I thought it would.
And lastly, I would suggest trying out the Narnam Renegade. All he needs 5-6 fetches to trigger revolt a bit reliably. Even if the revolt cannot be always triggered, he can still trade with creature bigger than himself because of the deathtouch ability.
I was definitely considering it. Problem is it needs fetches, which I'm still short on a couple, especially the green ones. If I ever pick up a playset of the Green/Red ones, I'll try it. It would definitely have helped against Reality smasher and the like. Also, I wouldn't say no to a decent third one-drop.
If the deck keeps performing like it did last time, I'll definitely put some effort into upgrading it.
@BbearZ While I agree with what you say on Narnam Renegade, personal attacks are not needed here. Not cool.
I do not think Skylasher is worthless, The ability to block Inkmoth Nexus and Blinkmoth nexus on instant speed should not be underestimated, it will force the opponent to either waste a pump, or lose the card, which make it a trade at worst and a potential +1, not to mention it can't be countered. It being a 2/2 body can also get us extra damage on the board which is nice.
It's definitely not as big as the other creatures we usually run as our two-drops and I probably would not run it maindeck over, say Kalonian Tusker, but I don't think it's THAT bad. It's not the best card in the world, but I can definitely see it as a nice sideboard card against Fairies, infect, affinity or anything that runs flyers or blue really.
Then again, that's an opinion, not a fact. And I definitely don't have the stat to back-up anything here... yet. Probably gonna try the little critter at two next time and see for myself how Good/bad it really is.

I would recommend Pulse of Murasa instead of Feed the Clan for Burn. The 6 life already counters two burn spells, anyway we are not always guaranteed 10 life from feed - and getting back a creature with pulse is a form of card advantage against them.
Also, Skinshifter was amazing. It's definitely slower than our classic two-drops though, I'd even consider it a three drop for good mesure since you need to dedicate a mana to its ability, but gosh did it save me way more than I thought it would.
Added a Skinshifter on my SCG order yesterday. Gonna try it out just for fun. ^^
I find the renegade to be useful against Thought-Knot Seer, Reality Smasher, Siege Rhinos and Phyrexian Obliterator - there's one person in my meta who uses a mono black obliterator deck.. as long as Narnam Renegade has trample from rancor, I can attack even if he has an untapped obliterator.. only have to sacrifice one permanent if he blocks.
Pulse of Murasa Is a pretty great idea actually. 6 life and a creature back is pretty neat against burn. It costs 3, but so does Kitchen Finks. Gonna try it out next time in the side. As for Narnam Renegade, I'm gonna wait until I have more fetches. I only have a playset of Windswept heath at the moment and I feel like four fetche is a little too narrow to reliably trigger the renegade. Six looks like the right amount.
Being disappointed in someone is the same as a personal attack? Sigh go figure.
Well, I apologize for assuming the worst then.
I never said skylasher was worthless. I said it wasn't worth it.
True, You technically didn't. I'm not willing to defend the card further without more play experience. Perhaps I'm even gonna agree with you on the card in a few weeks if it doesn't perform as well as I want it to.
What do you think:
2 Treetop Village
18 Forest
Creature (26)
4 Avatar of the Resolute
4 Experiment One
4 Greenbelt Rampager
4 Strangleroot Geist
2 Scavenging Ooze
4 Dryad Militant
4 Narnam Renegade
2 Aspect of Hydra
2 Blossoming Defense
2 Dismember
4 Vines of Vastwood
4 Rancor

A few questions:

I'm in the Tormod's crypt camp for graveyard hate. So nice to still curve out while disrupting their plan.
First, here is the deck:
4x Dryad Militant
4x Experiment One
4x Avatar of the Resolute
2x Scavenging Ooze
2x Skinshifter
4x Strangleroot Geist
2x Kitchen Finks
3x Leatherback Baloth
3x Aspect of Hydra
4x Rancor
4x Vines of Vastwood
3x Dismember
Lands (21)
19x Forest
2x Treetop Village
2x Tormod's Crypt
1x Fog
1x Grafdigger's Cage
1x Gut Shot
2x Back to Nature
2x Deglamer
1x Skylasher
1x Torpor Orb
1x Unravel the Aether
1x Bow of Nylea
2x Obstinate Baloth
Round 1 vs Monogreen Stompy (on the play)(2-1): All three games were close games. Closed the first game thanks to Skinshifter's ability to fly, otherwise I would have lost. Round 2 vs U/W Tron (On the play)(2-1): Holy guaquamole, I actually outsped him game 1. Turn four he sweeped my board with Wrath of god, but since I had a Treetop Village, I was able to game him anyway. Game two went a lot worse. Basically three well Placed Path to exile along with an Elesh norn, grand cenobite got me good. I was able to make him whiff a Gift ungiven combo with Tormod's Crypt and slow him down with a Deglamer on an Azorius Signet. Game three, Two Rancor and a Strangleroot geist was able to sponge Wrath of god and win me the game. Surprisingly, I did not see a single Karn Liberated, Ugin, the spirit dragon or Wurmcoil engine. Lucky me.
Side-in/out: Brought in two Tormod's Crypt, two Deglamer and Unravel the Aether for my three Dismember and two Kitchen Finks. the crypts helped me game two, and game three, artifact hate pretty much won me the game.
Round 3 vs G/B Eldrazi (On the Play (1-2): Lost game 1, which took freaking 30 minutes!
