I find there are too many artifact hate for for Spellskite and and there is Spell Snare.
but basically it's still a very good side card if you own, but i don't want to pay 20 or 40 E for 1 or 2 side cards
Went in a modern champ today.
Game 1: 0x2 living end
Game 2: 0x2 gw aura hexproof (mana flood
Game 3: 2x0 abzan
Game 4: 2x0 martyr life
Game 5: 2x0 Utron
Didn't made top8, even with 9 points (same points that 7º, 8º, 9º and 10º places).
Used the classic list with 21 lands and 1x dungrove elder
This is the current deck that I run. I was looking for advice on upgrades for the deck. I am looking at subbing in Spreading Algae and maybe Groundbreaker for the haste effect. Any advice.

Looks like you marked down Strangleroot Geist twice, is that supposed to be something else? We don't dump cards in the graveyard fast enough for Become Immense, and I'm pretty sure Surgical Extraction doesn't totally belong in the 75. Groundbreaker, while fast, isn't terribly effective, and people can play around Spreading Algae. I would move the Dismember to mainboard, and put some Relic of Progenitus in the side. You probably also want to take out Defense for some Gut Shot.
How effective is choke against blue? I feel like a lot of blue decks can either counter it or play around it. I have not tested it myself and want to know what people think of it.
This is my current decklist and sideboard. Choke is the flex slot for my sideboard.
Gut Shot is to clear away small blockers such as dark confidant and snapcaster mage and to clear away mana dorks. It is also useful against infect and souls sisters and probably many other decks.
There's a Modern PPTQ at my LGS this weekend - looking forward to it! Still tossing up between using 2x Spellskite main or 2x Scavenging Ooze - splitting doesn't seem great. I'm leaning towards Spellskite - I'm pretty happy to draw that against most decks, whereas the Ooze is great against less decks I think. I did a bit of play testing last night against Living Twin (a Living End deck that can use the Twin combo as well) - Spellskite was pretty much a dead card against it but on the whole the matchup wasn't a bad one. I also tested against Merfolk a couple of times, winning more because my opponent didn't know my deck than because I deserved to! In spite of my opponent's protestations I still think Merfolk isn't a great matchup.
Sideboard is not the best in the world but it's what i could make in paper.
I beat Esper gifts and American control both 2-0. All the games were grindy, got a ton of early damage in and finished it late game. Choke definitely put in some work as did scavenging ooze. Drew for guaranteed prize against affinity who would have beat me (we played it out for fun and he got some nut draws.) Way to go on all the recent success I have been seeing lately from everyone.
This is my current decklist. It is currently sitting at 65 dollars, I own enough pieces of the decklist that it costs just 52 dollars for me. I think this deck is about as good as you can get when it comes to value for your money.
Edit
Is kitchen finks better than young wolf for board wipe decks?

My guess is because you can pay to change the target of a spell to spellskite, where the hero has to be targeted.
