Lion, you are right about Suicide Zoo. After playing a couple of matches myself, the MU is harder than it looks. But I still do believe the fact our life gain actually do matter (unlike Infect) gives us some what an advantage. But I do agree, it is a hard match up. I would actually class it as an EVEN matchup.
Blessed Alliance: I still like the card against Burn, and the card overall.
Dismember + Celestial Purge: Definitely good cards that everyone should consider in their SB.
Repel the Abominable: Hoses Suicide Zoo, EXCEPT if it's Swiftspear attacking. Card very good against Storm, Scapeshift and Suicide Zoo. Not sure which is better between Repel and Tender-Forge.
Here are my recent game results:
Jeskai Control: loss 0-2. I was pretty frustrated in this game. I didn't draw any tokens in both games. G2, I had 13 lands, more lands than the control guy.
RG Scapeshift: loss 1-2. G3: Used Repel the Abominable. Great card, prevented the damage but he had a Titan on board, couldn't handle it.
Infect: loss 0-2. Very good with his deck.
Dredge: win 2-0. I think he was still inexperienced with the deck.
Suicide Zoo: win 2-0.
Dredge: win 1-0. He quits G2, after I played RIP + Ghostly Prison. Complaining that my deck was no fun lol... salt.
Suicide Zoo: win 2-1. Repel the Abominable saved me in G3. He went all in... and BAM, Repel; I win. Game lasted 45 mins lol.
Jund: win 2-0. Completely murdered him. Game lasted for like 10-15 mins.
Hatebears: loss 0-2. I kept some greedy hands. My fault.
Here is my sideboard that I'd would like to share with everyone.
This is for my SB for my meta at my shop:
There is a lot of Infect and Kiki Chords at my place so Suppression Field and Celestial Flare/Blessed Alliance are here.
Repel the Abominable seems like a card I should try. I like your gameplan. I think I understand how the card might shut down Ad Naus, too. With Ad Naus; does the Ad Naus player draw their deck, cast Lightning Storm, assign damage... and then you cast in response to the damage being on the stack? Is that possible?
I tried PMing them. I managed to open a chat with Rvng, but my message wasn't delivered because he's either unavailable or offline. I can't seem to get a room opened with Shadow_PT-- perhaps he goes by a different username on MTGO? I'm not sure.
Hi guys, I played SS on MOL since 2013 and I tested a lot of builds to SS. I already tried Dark Confidant + Bitterblossom + Lingering Souls, tried Nahiri + Emrakul, tried a lot of builds without splash and none of these have performed as well as the tradicional/recent build that I'm using. The deck have a couple spots on maindeck, that you can adapt to the field you're expecting. The two spots that I'm using are Archangel of Thune and Gideon, Ally of Zendikar. They are both good against midrange/control decks, that are pretty present on MOL. It's very good to play a Gideon after a sweeper, or on a balanced game. Archangel is a triumph that can screw the opponent's math and is good pick for Windbrisk Heights.
The sideboard choices are according to the meta/field you're expecting. Since mol is very versatile, I have to pick a generic sideboard, but It doesn't mean that it's the best SB. If you play IRL, you have to adapt to the field. I'll explain my choices:
Burrenton - against Jund, Grixis, Pyroclasm/Anger decks, Burn obvs and Dredge (conflagrate)
Celestial Purge is a card that pleased me a lot, at the beggining, It was to deal with Nahiri, but it does have a lot of targets on Jund(Dark Confidant, Night of Soul's Betrayal, Kalitas, Lili), Grixis (Tasigur, Gurmag), Death Zoo(Death's Shadow, Swiftspear) and other matchups that I cant remember right now.
RiP is a general grave hate, other than the obvious matchups, I like to use it against Grixis and BGx that uses a lot of grave(Goyf, kalitas, ooze, lingering souls, grim lavamancer, melira/viscera seer/finks/redcap), Martyr Life with proclamation of rebirth
Stony Silence is there for Tron, Affinity, Lantern, Ad Nauseam, etc.
Gideon is there against control, like I said, its pretty good to play it after a sweeper. I side he in against UWx, BGx and grixis
Wrath if a one-of that won me a lot of games against zoo, death zoo, eldrazi, affinity, jund/junk, chord decks, elves, etc.. You play around it by casting a sister, a hawk and let the op think he has the advantage.
Dismember is there to deal with problematic creatures like an early Dark Confidant, Ooze, Kalitas, Goyf, Tasigur, Infect Creatures, Eldrazis, to stop combos that base on creatures(kiki + resto). Do not use this against agressive decks like zoo/affinity/burn.
Sundering Growth is used against Affinity(save it for Girapur), ad nauseam(phyrexian unlife),etc.
p.s: my english sucks =~
If I can help you guys with anything else, let me know
Hey! It was nice to get to meet you. Thanks for stopping by!
Gideon is a card I really haven't looked into, but after reading this, I'm starting to think I really should, especially since I am in a very control-heavy meta. Same goes for Wrath, too.
For what it's worth, this is the most recent deck I tried out, dropping Squadron Hawks for Judge's Familiar. I haven't played too much of it since then, so I don't really know if that was a good idea. (It probably wasn't.)
I'm really wondering if Leyline of Sanctity is worth it. It's a pretty nice card to throw down against some control decks, but I can't help but think we have better options. I should really rethink my sideboard and try Gideon and Burrenton, for sure.
You have inspired a lot of people to play Soul Sisters, and a lot of players who think about giving up on it to keep trying. I know I always love to see your lists up on Goldfish. Thanks for sharing with us.
Thank you for stopping by serious! Like everybody said, you have inspired a lot of us ! You're like a legend LOL.
Hope you will stay here with us and share your experiences and results with the deck! I'm sure a lot of us have a lot of questions about your success on MTGO.
Shoutout to Matsuri for contacting you!
As for me, I'm not sure if I'm going to FNM tonight. School is about to start very soon and I won't be able to go to my locals as much. Also, to be honest, I'm getting quite fed up losing with Soul Sisters lately at my store. I actually started playing Magic for the first time around this time last year. Still haven't finished first place or went 3-0. But with Rvng in the forum now, I'm actually a little pumped. But I don't think it'll be enough for me to go tonight and I won't be going anytime soon with school starting. Sorry if I sound a little negative. Just simply too tired of losing. Good luck to everyone who is going tonight!
So glad someone made contact with the player who's keeping us on the map! It's exciting that you're enjoying the very traditional build a lot, as I've been enjoying with the black splash. Tomorrow, my friend will be bringing my BW Sisters to another PPTQ, so I'll post the lists and his results when we finish. I'm excited for him; he's been testing a lot and is really enjoying how the deck is destroying certain match ups. He's seen a lot of Eldrazi, and the match up just seems unfair.
Has anyone squared up against the new dredge deck?
Eldrazi is tough if you're talking about the Bant version. It's 50-50 matchup honestly. But it does feel like 30-80, when they have Displacer + Drowner.
I'm currently only 2-1 against Dredge (without including one rage quit because of my turn 2-3, RIP + G-Prison lock). I feel like it's a very favorable matchup for Soul Sisters. RIP and Ghostly Prison are amazing against them. I'm thinking if it's worth siding in Mark of Asylum too, because Conflagrate can hurt us. Wrath of God is good too obviously.
Going through Decked Builder app I noticed this one going 5-0 by Sattonex. Looks interesting. Not sure if I like Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim. I like the card a lot but not sure in here. Definitely worth testing it. Looks like it's going all in on tokens too.
Ayli is... interesting. In a token build, you can sac a token to her to deal with annoying permanents on your opponent's side of the board-- and she can more or less attack freely too due to deathtouch. What's really cool is that in situations where we're low on cards to play but have lots of mana in mid-late game, you could double up on Ayli's exile ability to systematically remove threats from your opponent's side of the field.
I kind of dig the build. If the landbase wasn't so expensive I'd be tempted to try it.
If your friends are cool with proxy can always print fake cards for testing if you play paper.
Need to see if it's worth the investment sometimes. The Arid Mesa and Horizon Canopy is definitely past my budget too. I don't see a red requirement so just use flooded stands in place of Arid Mesa. Prob just skip the Canopy and use ghost quarter.
/Edit no Martyr curious if it's more difficult hitting the 30 life. I guess the mass token drops help enough with that
Blessed Alliance: I still like the card against Burn, and the card overall.

1x Celestial Flare
2x Repel the Abominable
2x Rest in Peace
2x Stony Silence
2x Sundering Growth
2x Suppression Field
1x Wrath of God
If I would go to a large tourney, this would be my SB:
1x Ghostly Prison
1x Mark of Asylum
2x Repel the Abominable
2x Rest in Peace
2x Stony Silence
2x Sundering Growth
1x Celestial Purge
1x Pithing Needle
1x Graftdigger's Cage
1x Wrath of God
Cards I would consider adding: Celestial Purge/Dismember
Cards I would consider removing: Wrath of God
My Sb covers everything except for Tron, Abzan Company and Kiki Chord. Which are all matchups that I hope to dodge.
If you guys look at MTGGoldfish, Soul Sisters is taking over the MTGO meta.
