Is anyone going to use Remorseless Punishment? It seems powerful enough and similar enough to Cruel Ultimatum to be used. I've won against a Sliver CoCo deck with it. Haven't tried it in an FNM though.
You dare compare Lord Bolas and his punishments with this insolent pest called Ob Nixilis?!?!?!

Perhaps Lord Bolas will accept the sacrifice of 3 Planeswalkers in return for a spot in the decklist.

*Failed* sacrifice
So I take it you don't care about the overall performance of the deck. Good to know.
The big problem with Remorseless Punishment is that the opponent can pick and choose which effect or which combo of effects (since it loops) they are affected by, which lets the opponent play around the impact far more than Cruel Ultimatum's effect IMO.

Thanks. I agree. But isn't one advantage of the card that if their hand is empty or they have no creatures they're forced to do the other options? For instance if they have no hand or creatures they're taking 10 damage which you can easliy set up for lethal. It also gets around hexproof. I think a 1-of might be good.

That list is pretty crazy. Interesting choice to run a few copies of Jori En, Ruin Diver, given how slow it is (it's basically 4-5CMC to get any value out of it) and that it's vulnerable to a ton of removal, but the card certainly might be worth looking into as a one-or-two-of in the main (simply because it can easily get a lot of value).
Maindeck Grave Titan is pretty hilarious(ly awesome)although with only 21 lands, seems a bit risky.
Still, really interesting, and certainly in a good way.
I've been thinking about this since you posted GrixisGuru. I'm not really sure how to beat the streamlined eldrazi decks yet.
I suspect we will need more hard removal and counter magic to combat them. Spell Snare is really good and I hope Innistrad brings us Innocent Blood. Land destruction is too slow against them, unfortunately.

Chalice of the Void stops Snare and/or Innocent Blood. Besides, they dump so many creatures out so fast and have way too many creatures that are not 2 mana. To top that off they have Cavern of Souls, Thought-Knot, and other cards like Inquisition and/or Thoughtseize that laugh at us. Some of the decks run and/or can run counter magic, but they're leaning away from this. Next up is even if we ran all board wipes, they still have haste creatures(Reality Smasher makes us discard in order to target), creaturelands, and over-the-top creatures that put us out of the game with enter and/or cast triggers that are back-breaking for us. They have lands such as Ghost Quarter that can put a strain on us, especially in a build such as their's. Additionally, Eye of Ugin says we can never go the late game with them.
I know of no way for us to react to this deck in a realistic manner. For the first time since Modern's creation, my Cruel list(my thinking about it) cannot even stand a chance to a deck. Some decks have been negative towards us, but there was still a chance, even if slight. These Eldrazi decks have access to the entire color pie, while leveling the purpose of it. If we think of a way to combatant one version of this monster, the other versions will tear us apart.
I'll entertain thoughts, but for the first time I cannot play Modern since its exception. We've now been slung into the Affinity days of standard - much worse than Callblade. Sure, it's not the same, but you get my comparison I'm sure.
I literally have to put my deck down and I cannot even play in the Louisville SCG event that's coming this month unless I want to play Eldrazi. I had looked so forward to it too. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe we can brew something or whatever to figure out how we can fight this beast.

You could use cards like vandalblast and rakdos charm to handle the chalice, I've done it. Use remand and mana leak. If you have too switch to tricks control temporarily.
I truly disagree that there is nothing we can do... I mean the whole idea of the deck is it can adapt to anything and I think it will take some new ideas but surviving the first half of the game is going to be key. I think maybe it calls for possible mainboard surgical extractions and mainboard Ghost quarters but I do think there is a path. I mean even they are stronger in the early game their manabase is ultra weak to early interactions. Spell snare can keep them off of chalice for one on the play but the draw we may be screwed to turn one Chalice unless we are willing to run some number of gemstone Caverns.
Nah we got this. I'll get to brewing and report back, modern has a large enough card pool to give us answers.

I really think a move to Delay over leak is where we wanna be at the moment. It gives us time and that's exactly what we need, it gives us insight on what's coming and time to find an answer in the mean time.

Move away from inquisition to Thoughtseize and maybe add Kalitas to help turn our removal into value and lifelinking isn't bad either.
Grave Titan is really good with Kalitas oddly enough too.
