Well goblin king seems worthless without blood moon.
I'll take fanatic out for Tattermunge maniac, that's for sure.
I wouldn't say that it's useless. Having as many lords on the board as you possibly can is the best way to make your creatures survive a Pyroclasm or Anger of the Gods. People keep complaining about getting their creatures swept away and haven't even considered adding more lords to help survivability increase.
Does splashing black in a deck make it more of a threat in modern, or is it more personal taste? I wouldn't mind doing two colors, I'm just curious as to people's thoughts.
I used black so I could make my lords cheaperFrogtosser Banneret, search out goblins when I need them with Boggart Harbinger, and have access to a mean targeted discard sideboard. You could go RG just as easily, along with RW. I've been thinking of building a RG deck list because I'm pretty sure I've done as much as I can with my RB list until the new set comes out.
It's most likely going to be another vial based deck with Descendants' Path(or something along those lines) as support. Maybe Domri Rade.
Has anyone else had a chance to try out Goblin Rabblemaster yet? I did some goldfish testing and swapped him in, taking out Goblin Chieftain to see which did more damage. When I played them, the Chieftain was better the turn I cast it, but if the games went past the turn I cast them, the Rabblemaster put out a lot more damage.
For reference this is the decklist that I'm running right now:
Playing the Deck a lot of Player's recognize that the big overall weakness is the sweepers.
That's the reason why i recommend Spike Jester and Mogg War Marshal over Krenko's Command and War Driver.
Gob's with an instant effect on the battlefield are superior to other options. Hellrider does have an imediate Effect so forces our opponent to react on him, while cards like Command or Krenko only shine when haste enabled.
Most of the time this isn't the case.
Clasm T2 maybe a problem, but with some Gob's in hand we're able to hit back, Anger of the Gods T3 hurts much more since War Marshal returns no Token and our hand is already thinned. After this a return to game is not so easy most of the time and if we topdeck sth. we want a haster to push damage through. Wort, Boggart Auntie helps sometimes, but if bolted it stumbled for 1 Turn and does nothing to improve our board state (Snapcaster and Bolt in GY is so awkward).
My hopes depend on Rabblemaster. Athough no haster, but gives us a haster every turn.

Sweepers is part of the reason I took the approach of including Lead the Stampede. Especially with Spirit Guides, you're always picking up 3+ cards, and the Spirit Guides on there own can power up some very explosive starts.
I tested a very little bit with white for boros charm, its too cute and difficult to keep mana up. My build at least is an explosive deck that can't be sitting around with RW up on turn 3 in case they have anger of the gods. Better off just biting the bullet and punching them down to 7 or less, they tap out for anger, hopefully you have a spike jester or something in reserve to bring them down to 4, and then they're in grenade range.
I think a couple thoughtseize in the board is the best out to combo decks, and maybe a singleton slaughter games.
I am interested in trying out the new rabblemaster though, seems quite good if we have a live goblin king, and a good card to throw out after opponent t3 anger of the gods too. Could even live the dream:
Command only interacts well with Goblin Chieftain and Bushwhacker.
Beside this it's just 2x 1/1 for 2cmc, which isn't very impressive.
Maniac is horrible sometimes. If you have to run into Goyf it's just nasty.
Fanatic has the upside of being able to ping Dark Confidant, Clique and Tiago.
Legion Loyalist shines in dog fights and sometimes in fighting Wurmcoil Engine.
Why have people moved off of Shared Animosity with the mass horde style decks?

In case I didn't tell you, I don't care about your opinion I just want your facts. And not the facts that make you seem smart. I want the ones that are actual facts.
This way I play 6 token generators and Spike jester. The thing I'm most worried about is that this way I would miss the 2 Shared animosity, so my "lord effects" count goes to 8 instead of 10. What do you think? Is it more important to have 2 lord effects or 2 token generators in those 2 slots?
It's more important to have your creatures get bigger rather than having sorcery speed token production clogging up your deck, in my opinion.
So, I'm finished with a RG goblin deck base, and would like you guys to critique it:
There are three empty card slots in the main board right now, so what would be best to fill them with?
I'm thinking Goblin Bushwhacker or Stingscourger. Another disruption goblin kind of like Mogg Fanatic would really help, seeing as I don't have any other spot removal other than a Siege-gang. So, I'm going to put Stingscourger in the list for now, so the deck is 60 cards.
I saw someone take out chieftains for rabblemasters. I don't see why you would do that, your rabblemaster makes every goblin you have attack. As it doesn't have haste itself that means you'll get some of your guys killed before the master can get his bonus. Combined with chieftain you can get that value straight away. I plan on testing him as a 2-off when he comes out. Just have to find out what to take out for it, as I didn't got to play that much the last couple of weeks...
I you want a card that gives you big advantage the turn after then you should be playing a krenko, there aren't many decks out there that can beat this guy after het tappes. Excited about all the goblins they printed, so close to having an absolute gorgeous new gobbo
It was just playtesting so I can say I found out for myself.
Well, good that you did. that means I am not talking bogus all the time
Well I am testing rabblemaster as well... But I don't really like him for the moment. Had a harbringer availleble 2 games and just didn't want to get it. Against Martyr life which I wone easely 2/1. 2nd game manaflooded after 3 path to exile! (ended at 10 lands and fetched twice...). Not a relevent matchup so testing further.
But having troubles with the M15 database so can't decently test it further.
Who is testing rabblemaster and in what version of the deck? Report, report, report!!
I'll still be testing him in replace of other cards in the deck to see if it works. Wardriver is definitely one of the weaker cards in the deck right now, I just don't want to raise my curve too high. I might try swapping out a pair of Wardrivers for a pair of Rabblemasters in my all-in deck and see how that goes.
Can anyone explain why Grenzo, Dungeon Warden is Legacy but not MOdern Legal???
It could be a fine addition, even with x=0 he just works as a good mana sink...
As far as Goblin Rabblemaster is concerned, I'm not going to use it in my RB deck. There's nothing worse than Rabblemaster for me to take out, and I really don't think one or two goblin tokens is worth him taking up card slots.

Legacy is an eternal format, which means all cards printed are legal in it (save for cards on the banned list). Modern is a non-rotating format, which means that the card has to have been standard legal at one point (following its own ban list as well). In theory, Wizards could have a non-standard set where they make all of the cards in it Modern legal (ex Modern Masters 2) but they haven't announced any plans for that.

I dunno. Its obviously not super tuned or anything, just a brainstorm. You could add in cards like Scuzzback Scrapper to help with Jund Hackblade and Boartusk Liege. Tattermunge Witch could even be a decent way to push through damage against an opponent that is looking to stall out with things like tokens.
I remember seeing a video on Youtube at one point about a guy (Rogue Deckbuilder?) testing out what was essentially a R/B goblins deck that used Tattermunge Maniac, Spike Jester, Jund Hackblade (as Spike Jester's 5-8).
Foundry Street -> Spike Jester -> Hackblade is pretty good.
Tattermunge -> Hackblade -> Cheiftain is pretty good too.
I can't find the video anymore though.

i got a question to the players who play simian spirit guide...i just cant imagine it's good...why not play 2 lands more, put SSG out and have additional 2 card slots? further i think that SSG is just bad due to heavy card disadvantage...we're not playing manaless combo where we got no different mana sources...sure, we might win some games by dropping out something one turn earlier. but removals hit us even harder...i dont want to imagine to play a turn 2 chieftain (2 lands 1 SSG) and then instafold against the most common removal of the format that happily trades 2 to 1, leaving us with an one drop on board and *****ty 3 hand cards
IF i would run SSG than only i a RG list with lead the stampede like someone did one page before...i really like the idea of being able to come back after a pyroclasm/anger because i draw 2-4 creatures very often.
so far i have been playing mono red, but that leaves me with less SB choices and i hate wardriver...spike jester is just the way better 2 drop..
love the main squads and that main rakdos charm since there are 2 twin-decks, 1 Tron and 2 other combodecks around...any comments from other B/R players?
got completely busted up yesterday. 0-4 in a local.
Round 1 - Twin
I drop Gobs, he comboed off T4. Match 2 i had a good start until he dropped Engineered Explosives and whiped my whole board.
I couldn't recover from that. 0 - 2
Round 2 - UWR Control
Bolt, Bolt, Snapcaster, Bolt, Restoration Angel and he killed me with an empty hand. Match 2 i was able to outrace him.
Match 3 he resolved Anger of the Gods, Angel afterwards and hit me with support of Bolts and Snapcaster. 1- 2
Round 3 - Storm
Match 1 he comboed off T3. I boarded Eidolon of the Great Revel and Rakdos charm. T2 eidolon and he couldn't recover from that because he boarded out all Lightning Bolt. Match 3 he boarded these in. I mulliganed to 4. He comboed off T3 without anything i could do. 1 - 2
Round 4 - RDW
A lot of Hellspark Elementals and Bolts and rift Bolt and Lava Spike with an Eidolon shot me down in no time. Match 2 he boarded in Dragon's Claw but i dropped enough Gobs and shot him to Death with Goblin Grenade. Match 3 he was faster than me. 1 - 2
In conclusion: Wort, Boggart Auntie has to go. It's so damn slow and does virtually nothing to improve my board state immediately.
hm :/ ! next time youll run better hopefully. i looked at your attachement from page 25 (your current deck, right?)and thats what comes into my mind:
- your deck is very slow! that's why you probably lost to burn. of course you can always draw bad, but well..my record against burn is like 15-2 because they can never catch up with me...my foundry does like 6+ damage their bolt only 3.
- you play 4 4-drops (!) and 8 (!) three drops! still you only play only 20 Lands of which 2 are fetchies...i can imagine screws a lot...
- your deck looks like you dont really know what you want, but it's certainly not aggro...playing no foundry, only 2 bushwacker and at the same time you play goblin guide and spike jester which is the complete opposite way..
- adding vials like you said will make ur deck even slower...cant imagine this to be good :/ in modern goblins i really want to win fast and not late game...until then everyone has comboed off or simply the way better creatures (board position)
