Personnaly , search and supreme will have been great so far ! The first for card selection and acceleration/dig for scapeshift, and the second for the versatility ! It may cost one more than worldy councel but he option of countering a spell in the early game , is just great !
The only changes I’ve made are 2 abrade in the board ( - 1 ancient grudge -1 nature’s claim ) , loved the card can be your 5-6 removal spell againt heavy creature’s deck like Human !

I'm definitely taking a hard look at Abrade myself. In a heavy Vial meta its also decent against any other small creature strategies that we want to bring in extra removal for.
One thing that I do seem to agree with is that SfA allows us to use our Bring to Lights more proactively than normal. Sometimes I find myself clinging to a BtL just because I know its my sole win condition (mb). I'm currently on 1 SfA but I may want to put another in. That "may" clause is pretty nifty when you already have a Azcanta, the Sunken Ruin.
How did you feel about going down to 2x Scapeshift. It has been done in the past, I just want to hear your reason. I understand that SfA means we are digging deeper. But I would almost never go below 3 Shifts.
Yes abrade after tests gonna stay in the board, it did a great job ^^
For the 2 scapeshift , I was running 3 since the beginning , but with SFA ( and supreme will ) , we are digging much deeper , that’s the reason i’ve tried with only 2 copies , up the SFA to 2 copies ( wanted to see it more frequently and as you say, with the may close you can have 2 on board , one flip and the other as a « scry 1 » ) ; and it ’s been doing great so far !

I'm currently on a 1 of SfA. I like the split of 1x Farseek/1x Search for Azcanta as both can serve a similar purpose of ramp (while one has card advantage/selection built in). I'll give more of an an update on how I feel about it once I get some more testing done.
It's too bad not a lot of people are brewing UScapeshift lists. I don't feel completely locked out of any game I play and I feel as if a list may have some legs in the future.
So far I have been very happy with only a 1x Search for Azcanta. It's a great early game draw and although it is slow in the late game, it can still transform into a land the next turn and offer us some pseudo-scry.
This deck's greatest strength in the current meta is the fact that it has a very not well-known play style with a great finisher (valakut). I heavily recommend people breaking out their blue variants of Shift.
I've been playing the bring to light version with the black splash for a while now. Search for azcanta is interesting I'm wondering if I should use them to beef up my btl deck or see how going back to old school rug would be.
Couple of notes: I started with to Search for Azcanta, then 1, now 0. The mana base (6 fetches) and emphasis on cheap cantrips (4x Serum Visions) was to support Search, and even then it wasn't flipping enough to be worth the dead turn. On the other hand, Supreme will has over performed and thus gone from 2->3, and Sweltering suns took the last spot.
@Kozent
I like the list. But I would definitely find room for 1 more Supreme Will. I think 2 is perfect, any more or any less seems criminal. How have you liked Engineered Explosives in the main? I used to run it at times but right now I have been playing a little more interesting piece of tech.
I have been having a lot of success with Repeal lately. I have used it to bounce a Death's Shadow for 2 which allowed me to prolong the game for a turn in order to combo off. In match ups where its dead (control mirrors) I am able to cycle it on any permanent on the board (SfA, PWalkers, etc.). I know in the old days of straight RUG shift 1 was commonly seen. I like having a 1x of bounce spell in either Repeal (my choice) or a kicked Into the Roil to round of my removal suite for a total of 1x Bounce Spell (your choice), 1x Izzet Charm, 3x Lightning Bolt One of the cons is that we are not able to Bring to Light for it successfully. This is not a problem for BtL because if we need a bounce effect we would search out Cryptic Command.
I know I have expressed this notion before. Is anyone considering taking over the primer? It would be nice to see it titled "RUGx Scapeshift" that way we wouldn't alienate someone looking for advice on a U Scapeshift core (that both BtL and RUGshift use). Plus, our traffic is low and want as much love as possible for this thread.
I am not throwing myself in the hat yet but I wouldn't mind doing it if it meant we had an updated primer.
@MuzzleMuffin,
Thanks , yes I’ve tried repeal at first , but since the change of rules for the double face cards , it’s less good I think ! EE was the replacement, because of the heavy meta with humans, DS , etc... I’m trying it now to help us in this matchup wich are difficult! It can also destroy bloodmoon even if there are 2 of them ! But I aggree with you that in somme matchups it’s a deadcard !
For supreme will , same thing I love the card ! But in the current meta here in france , it’s a bit slow ! And I’m trying to take the deck to GP Lyon in 2 weeks , so I am trying the 1/1 split with izzet charm for card like thalia, meddling , liliana etc... and for the last part I’m recently trying 1 abrade in place of the 4 bolt main , I don’t know if it will stay , but I wanted to give it a try ^^
Trying to make this deck great again !!
Quick question : have you the need for crumble to dust lately in the board ? I’m thinking of cutting it ! What do you think ? Thanks

Thoughts on a primer change/update?
I have really liked Crumble to Dust. I am able to hit Celestial Collonades in the UW/UWR matchups, Tron lands in Gx/Eldrazi Tron matchups, Inkmoth Nexus in the near non-existent infect matchup, etc. I have even used it on lands that require an activation cost to blow up other lands (think Field of Ruin). If you are not facing these types of matchups I would recommend cutting it. But if I were going to a GP I would definitely keep it in. Being a 1 of in the SB doesn't require a lot of attention and we are able to get to it easily with BtL.
My list is in my sig if you ever need inspiration.
I think this means we are back on straight RUGshift. I know I will be testing Jace as a 3-of. Being able to slam him turn three to either Brainstorm or bounce a creature sounds tasty.

Anybody with a potential list?
Yep. This is great news

Modern: G Tron, Vannifar, Jund, Druid/Vizier combo, Humans, Eldrazi Stompy (Serum Powder), Amulet, Grishoalbrand, Breach Titan, Turns, Eternal Command, As Foretold Living End, Elves, Cheerios, RUG Scapeshift
Also, updating the primer post announcement might be a good idea since Jace is likely to alter the metagame and Scapeshift could be in the list of Jace decks.

I think we should start figuring out what a list looks like before we update the primer (although I am 100% for it).
I am still unsure of what are removal suite will look like. Right now I am on the 3x Bolt/1x Repeal/1x Izzet Charm plan. I think this is a good start. We don't plan on burning people out with bolt, but being able to hit opposing Jaces sounds great. Perhaps 4 is warranted?
Jace makes us have a hard look at Search for Azcanta. again. Do we run both?
I think this means we are back on straight RUGshift. I know I will be testing Jace as a 3-of. Being able to slam him turn three to either Brainstorm or bounce a creature sounds tasty.
I love RUGshift and would love to see it come back strong, but I'm going to pump the brakes a little bit here. Jace is actively bad in almost all of the matchups we traditionally struggle with - Affinity, Burn, Dredge - and good in the grindy matchups, where we were already fine. It may also encourage a meta shift towards the faster Affinity/Burn decks to race the UW decks that will be playing Jace, which isn't great for us either.
If Jace is going to be a panacea for this deck, it's going to have to be backed up by a plan against the aggro decks that makes sense.
To offer some constructive thoughts: we're probably on a 4 Bolt plan to keep the aggro decks down and clear the way for Jace. Courser of Kruphix may get better for similar reasons. This may incentivize a BtL shell which can wrath the turn after Jace to lock up games against Coco/GBx? We may need to shift the manabase to play more fetchlands to make Brainstorm better, although our ramp effects already do that to an extent.
Jace might also just be a sideboard plan against the grindy decks which move up on hand disruption and down on threat count.
I agree he's not great at shoring up our bad matchups, but all hope may not be lost as jace offers marginal utility and as always the ability to dig for our answers. He gets to see 3 new cards the turn he comes down, AND protect it from discard if we so choose. If he lives through the turn our ability to fetch/search is a whole new crack at 3 cards.
Against affinity you can bounce creatures that have been suited up by ravager, or keep that overseer from activating for a turn. And, if we wanted to, fatesealing affinity is actually pretty strong because the deck has a decent # of bricks in their lands, ornithopters, drums, opals, memnites, etc...We're not happy about giving them bodies but more importantly we just need to make sure it's not something like plating or ravager.
Against burn it's not very good but there will be times that they can't ignore your jace, and that's going to be anywhere from 3 to 8 life "gained" through a skull crack. We'll also be able to bounce eidolons of the great revel without costing us life.
And for dredge...they can't actually always cast their creatures! There's the possibility that when you bounce that prized amalgam it won't be back for a few turns.
