That's my list. I've been running four omens for a long time and admittedly it's raised a few eyebrows like "that's a lot of redundancy, bet you draw those too often" but it's been fine. They sometimes get destroyed & quite often I need to topdeck them to win through high life total or just a turn quicker, or start naturally making land drops with valakuts in play and doming the opponent out. They are also a great early play before counters come up against control, allowing me to just sit back and make land drops in order to win.
That said, I could see dropping to three, and I've recently had very little need for the 1x electrolyze although it's always amazing vs affinity/infect/death & taxes and those decks still exist, and they are very tough matchups. It's possible that it needs to be something like repeal although I'm not certain. It needs to cantrip.
I'm also looking at Pull from Tomorrow as a sort of dig through time replacement. It's not as good ovcioisly, but still good. Electrolyze and the 4th omen might get dropped for two of those.

Modern: G Tron, Vannifar, Jund, Druid/Vizier combo, Humans, Eldrazi Stompy (Serum Powder), Amulet, Grishoalbrand, Breach Titan, Turns, Eternal Command, As Foretold Living End, Elves, Cheerios, RUG Scapeshift
Playing the BtL Version, Fatal Push and Explosives are very good at slowing down Death's Shadow. If you're playing straight RUG, Snapcaster is pretty useful against discard, 1-2 Explosives maindeck can be good tools too, though you have to be careful with Omens. I would guess Repeal has to be decent too, as it's a pseudo answer to any of their threats.
Just my thoughts on Pull Through Tomorrow: It's got the same argument against it as Sphinx's Rev, and I'd much rather be playing Rev than Pull in BtL. Your big "inevitability" spell in Scapeshift is just Scapeshift. In UW Control it's Sphinx's Rev or w/e. If anything, it's a sideboard card for non-BtL versions for grindy matchups.
However, now I want to make Bant Sphinx's Rev ramp really badly. Scapeshift where the Scapeshift is just Sphinx's Rev.
I've definitely been trying pull from tomorrow, and it's not ideal. Raw card draw is just not where you want to be with this deck. We've had jace's ingenuity for a long time, which never saw play, and it's arguably better/more efficient. We really need cards that jump us past the fluff, which is why Dig Through Time was so great.
I still play the classic RUG Scapeshift deck, and still love it the best. I might try gifts ungiven again with some of these aftermath cards, though.
Inconventionnal side for the white one : 0 baloth ? Against jund/abzan and burn, is blessed alliance better ?!
Both played colossus for the DS matchup I gess , interesting , never thought about it !
What do you think of those sideboards ?
Emperion isn't great against Death's Shadow Jund, They have Lili's, Kcommand, and even more answers pre-side. It also stops you from playing EE in this matchup. I've had sucess with Emperion against Grixis Shadow though, while not excellent it's decent in this matchup.
Emperion is great against Eldrazi Decks post side if unexpected, and obviously a good tool against Burn, Dredge, Affinity, Zoo and other aggressive decks, but again, once they adapt I'm personnally siding it out, even against Burn. Dredge can just get 1-2 grudge in and it doesn't cost them much, and Zoo or Burn usually get 6-8 answers in. Them diluting their deck for something you're siding out is great.
So I'm planning on going to SCG Charlotte in a few weeks here, and I was *planning* on taking BtL Scapeshift. Could someone send me a ridiculously stock list or two? I've not played the deck recently so I want to see where it is atm.
As far as mana goes, I'd advice playing the same manabase as the list I posted a few weeks ago here except with white instead of black obviously.
Verdict is much harder to cast than wrath, looks greedy. Playing 7 sweeper looks like a lot too.
Otherwise Ranger's Path is worse than Hunting wilds, which in my opinion is worse than Cultivate/Kodama's Reach.

I personaly prefer hunting wilds to cultivate/kodama because the 2 lands are put directly in play , and you can take land other than Basic wich is good in a 4 color deck ! This only the feeling that I have
7 sweeper seems a bit much I totally agree ! I think droping 1 verdict is good
One of the big things I've learned from playing RUG/BtL Shift (as well as the Bant deck I put in earlier) is that just about the best part of the deck is going turn 3 Sweeper or Cryptic, which is what Bant is trying to maximize. Two verdicts has been very handy, although it's definitely a bit of a stretch on the mana. I'm debating going 1 Verdict and 1 Wrath as an afterthought, since No Regen is very nice vs a number of random threats. I figure I'll poke around with it a bit more, and I may drop it.
Ranger's Path is something I'm playing b/c my LGS didn't have Hunting Wilds (how often do you cast that with Kicker anyways lol). Cultivate/Reach seems fine, and I imagine it will help with the mana more than Path/Wilds (especially with Verdict/Cryptic) since it only gets forests (only 1 UG dual and 1 GW dual). I will definitely try it.
I do kinda want to try a second Farseek to assist in manafixing.
Also, your manabase looks solid and I like it a lot. I'm using battlelands as budget shocks atm and it's not been troublesome, though if I can get the cash I'll purchase shocks. I'm also on 4 white sources to try and support the Verdicts.
Lastly, this decklist just 5-0'd. Interesting Omenshift list imo. https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/645034#paper Very low quantities of control cards, looks like it's putting a lot of faith into Omen as board control. The sideboard Boseiju is also interesting, and Pyroclasm/Hornet Queen suspect...
Hi guys, I discovered this thread while looking for scapeshift content on my phone at work. I put down Bring to Light after a disappointing 11-4 (no cash) finish at GP Dallas. I sleeved it back up for a GPT on a whim about two weeks ago. I went undefeated and picked up byes for Vegas and decided to rebuild the deck online. My results from 19 Competitive leagues in the past 2 weeks have been pretty promising. 2 Trophies and many 4-1 finishes.
with infect out of the meta I feel like the deck is poised for a comeback. The biggest hurdle now is GBx Shadow and even that feels like it's just a couple adjustments from being manageable.
Anyway I'd love to hear what ideas people have to improve our capability to deal with the shadow matchup and would be happy to answer any questions also. I also sometimes stream the deck on twitch (sj_mtgo) usually after 8:00 pm MST if anyone wants to see the deck in action.
Grixis DS is a tough matchup, but Jund DS is slightly favorable. Playing Black for Fatal push is really good. Also, against Grixis DS, Platinum Emperion can be pretty good postboard when they only have a couple K-Command to remove it.
Would you like to share your thoughts on the new additions to the deck? In particular I would like to hear your about your experience with Shefet Monitor, Explore and Repeal. Do you miss hard removal, or is the Repeals enough?

I'm interested in the can trip build. It think it needs a lot more tuning but it definitely has potential. If the Death's Shadow matchup is significantly better than I can get with BTL I'll have to consider it for Vegas. I will be jamming a load of leagues with the can trip build soon.
Game 1 wasn’t too memorable. He didn’t put up that fast of a clock and my disruption held him off until I Scapeshifted for game.
Sideboard: +4 Baloth +2 Negate -2 Supreme Verdict -4 Search for Tomorrow. I figured I’d side kinda like I was against a grindy midrange deck and drop the Searches.
Game 2 was really dumb. He miskept, his only lands being Vault of the Archangel and Twilight Mire, thinking he could make double black. I had a fairly fast hand with some disruption that I didn’t really need, so I just ramped up while he missed his land drops. Then I mess up. I have a lethal Scapeshift in hand, but I instead pass the turn, missing my land drop, as I wasn’t paying enough attention. He then drew a swamp, made double black, cast Thoughtseize grabbing Scapeshift followed with Surgical on it (grabbing another copy out of my hand). At this point, however, I had a Baloth in play and a BtL in hand, so I untapped and dropped another Baloth and won with beats.
1-0
Round 2 Naya Burn
Game 1 I mulled to 5 knowing he’s on burn till I got a half decent hand. If I had draw a Scapeshift or BtL during that game I would have won, as I died with 8 lands out to a goblin guide while at 2 life (he didn’t even have the burn spell).
Sideboard: +4 Baloth +2 Dispel +2 Negate +1 Blessed Alliance -2 Path -1 Verdict -2 Cryptic Command -4 Remand. I totally got a sideboard for this matchup. I’m still unsure of what numbers of Paths/Verdicts/Cryptics I want out, so advice would be nice.
Game 2 and 3 both turned out similarly, with me trying to stay alive. He was also new to the deck and tried to keep an all spells hand for g2.
Game 3 I felt good about. I was doing my basic “staying alive” part. Near the end I’m at 5 life with a Baloth in play. My opponent has 2 lands (both tapped), a suspended Rift Bolt, and 1 card in hand while at 12. My hand is Land, Land, BtL, and Blessed Alliance. I’ve got 5 lands, 6 mana up if I shock. Option one (in my head) was to mainphase the Blessed Alliance (plays around Skullcrack/Atarka’s Command), Option 2 do it during their turn, which would be while I’m at two, which gives them a number of ways to kill me. Both of those end up with me saving the BtL to cast Scapeshift the following turn. In the end, I chose option 3, which was to attack with Baloth (down to 8) and BtL into a second Baloth, gaining 4 life and presenting lethal while still being able to untap and gain 4 the next turn, which would practically be a time walk at worst. The one card in hand ended up being Skullcrack and the card he drew for turn was a land. What would you guys have done?
2-0
Round 3 Bant Eldrazi
Game 1 was fairly straightforward, and after basic controlly stuff I had 8 lands out while facing lethal. I needed to draw either Cryptic Command (tap draw to time walk), Supreme Verdict, Scapeshift, or BtL. I flip the top, and it’s Verdict. I cast it, clearing away two TKS, a Smasher, and a Hierarch, draw 2 (including a Scapeshift that I needed another turn to cast), and pass. He draws, passes back, and I untap and win.
Sideboard: +4 Baloth +1 Nissa +1 Alliance. -4 Remand -1 Anger -1 Cryptic. This is also debateable, but I felt like Nissa and Baloth were correct. Nissa spouts out 5/5s which can eat TKS and trade with Smasher (assume no Hierarchs), and Baloth buys time and can trade with TKS. Alliance was simply so I could have another removal spell, and notably one that doesn’t target if a Smasher is involved.
Game 2 he has quite the start but draws only lands, going turn 2 Skyspawner turn 3 TKS turn 4 TKS. He’s threatening lethal and I Verdict, I pass back, he draws another land, and I untap and win.
3-0
In the end, I essentially decided that with how I have the manabase set up, I can't support Ranger's Path (Hunting Wilds is in the mail) and really do need to either add a Temple Garden and a second Breeding Pool (preferable, but I don't know what to drop), or play Cultivate/Kodama's Reach instead. I also decided that Supreme Verdict is awesome and wish I could play more (but the manabase wouldn't hold it). I can reasonable support two as is, but it could be better. Also, Izzet Charm feels fine, but I think it's not at it's best atm and could probably be something better. Anticipate will be replaced with Worldly Counsel (also in the mail).
As a last semi-unrelated note, I do want another RIP or two sideboard (and perhaps another Affinity hose (Ancient Grudge)) but I don't really know where to start shaving.
I've found quite a few times recently that I actually regretted having cinder glade and wanted a basic mountain. Comes from needing to fetch a basic & having run out, or needing specifically a basic mountain in the deck & having drawn it.
Still, it's probably variance & I'll keep playing with glade to see how it pans out.
Otherwise it's been good. Went undefeated at three fnms so far (admittedly the list was a little different before amonkhet). Gonna try it again tomorrow.
