It was quite the ride indeed!
In the mana base I ran 1 flooded grove, 2 breeding pool, temple, a tarn and misty for the flex spots. I thought this would be good as it gives me more fetch targets and more access to turn one suspend.
I sided out a scapeshift because I really wanted the removal against affinity. My logic for it was if I side out SS for primal command, Im still winning the game by casting one spell. It worked pretty well, having double electrolyze and an izet charm let me play through bloodmoon easily until I got my green sources.
Ammulet titan is very rough. I cryptic'd one of his karoos and it felt right, but theres really nothing we can do against cavern on giant. Given that and the fact that there are tons of ways for him to tutor pact of negation into hand, this matchup becomes almost impossible.
Hope that gives you some insight, Ill be tunning the list now to the extreme sggro meta at my gaming store and will be doing small tournament for quite a while.
Any constructive discussion would be appreciated. I've only got about 26 matches under my belt with the deck.
My maybe board has consisted of tons are cards including but not limited to:
Pia and K
izzet staticaster
teferia, mage of zhalfir
olivia voldaren
inferno titan
putting back in the slaughter games
swan song
notion thief
putting back in the melira
night of souls betrayal
4th baloth
3rd anger
previously had back to nature
polukranos
sower of temptation
pryoclasm
slagstorm
thragtusk
grafdigers cage
putting back in pithing needle
engineered explosives
prismatic omen
i'd say Keranos, god of storms is a safe bet in the sideboard against the slower matchups. I've tended to win fairly consistently after casting him, regardless of the opponent.
also although many players will side out removal against you after game 1, i'm still not sure that Phyrexian Revoker is as good a card as Pithing Needle in this case. revoker works well in multiples, and in a tempo shell where you can put a significant clock on your opponent before they find removal. here, he just becomes a target for whatever answers your opponent couldn't afford to side out. oh -and pithing needle works on lands, while revoker doesn't (although revoker can shut off mana dorks which is relevant)
i'd also recommend batterskull. most people won't expect it, and you'll often have the mana to use its bounce-replay ability. it's also just another card to bring in against burn, which is never a bad thing.
query: how has glen elendra archmage been going for you? I always found it a tad too slow, because many of the "control" decks in the format actually have a respectable clock from goyfs, scooze, tasigur or whatever other threat they are running. would be interesting to hear your insight on this card.
also question to the thread: huntmaster of the fells... worth it? sideboard? i've seen winners at tournaments running a spicy 4x tarmogoyf in the sideboard to switch the deck up into a rug tempo deck and i am stoked by this idea. really excellent deck design. what about the huntmaster though?

I've got a Modern No Ban List coming up. I've thought about jamming a lot of things and then thought, why not jam a MNBL Scapeshift Deck. I'm thinking traditional RUG with some good cantrips and seeing my friend Dig through Time again. Any thoughts on what to modify from some of the traditional builds? Bolt any good in a No ban list meta ya think?

Well despite me 2-0ing infect twice this weekend it's a scary matchup and with blazing shoal legal you'll see more infect in no banlist modern meta. Bolt helps against that but not sure what you'd take out. a bolt version of scapeshift is very different from mine. I'll post a link to my list once scg posts them but I'll link to my reddit post that is pretty close to up to date and ive got a lot of info there
Hey all, just dropping by to ask you Scapeshift experts a quick question. I am trying now to use the Prismatic Omen version with Explore (I have toyed already with BtL). When using Explore, how many lands are recommended? Do you think 24 is enough, or should the count be bumped (to 26 or so)?
Why was this deck demoted so far? I've been a little out of touch.
My guess is because the archetype has splintered a bit, with RG Titanshift breaking off. It is still making top 8's pretty regularly from what I can tell, it just is in a different forum.
Been tweaking the list around and decided to have a go at running prismatic omen in my tarmoshift list.
So far, results are good. Omen lets the deck achieve natural valakut triggers very often while just tempoing out, and all with blue sources as well so cryptic is your mid-game bomb. Really positive feedback from the deck insofar as it's consistently getting there. No real hiccups or niggles yet. Will post a list later this evening.

Spent the evening testing against other modern decks and didn't lose a single game (not one! My friend was incredulous)
Here's my list. I really like it so far. it's been really impressing me with prismatic omen mid-game burnouts with multiple valakuts. land drops dealing 3 or 6 damage is a big game.
Like I mentioned, I didn't drop a single game. Wins were as follows:
Burn; 3 wins, 0 losses
Tarmogoyf was the big change here from regular lists. The ability to gum up the board while holding relevant removal or some stalling effect was insane. Normally I feel outpaced in this matchups but not here. Prismatic omen lets you kill their threats with your land drops. Value!
Uwr control; 4 wins, 0 losses
Fairly quick wins. Didn't need to rely on scapeshift, prismatic omen was enough. Dropping a second valakut and just doming opponent for uncounterable 6 is dirty. Goyf was an efficient way to get pressure on the board and force stuff like sweepers, and switch my natural omen-valakut triggers into lethal damage.
Storm; 3 wins, 0 losses
Counter their second ritual or manamorphose, win. Closing games out in short order with prismatic omen again was a big bonus. Turn 5, drop omen, cast scapeshift for 72 damage. Ouch.
Goyf was OK here too. A little extra pressure to make those natural valakut drops lethal
Elves; 4 wins, 0 losses.
The ability to stall the early game, and then fog a couple of times with a cryptic is enough to get you an easy win. Once again, naturally doming your opponent for 6 or 9 a turn or wrathing their board with a basic island due to omen on the field is insane. Goyf again was nice here.
so far i've been enjoying the most positive record i've had in modern. i really like the new dynamic to the deck, which is more resilient against quick threats (normal lists have essentially no creatures and decks like affinity/infect/burn are tricky)
